Hi Eds, certain reports mention that Liverpool have rekindled interest in signing Fekir. Any truth in this? I've looked through the previous responses, but wanted to check if there was any contact/ progress made?
Thanks in advance.

{Ed002's Note - I, as I have explained, would not discount an offer.}

Ed002, greetings from the Limousin region of France.
I still think Fekir would be a good addition to the squad.

Agree2 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - i agree but Lyon will not be messed with and there needs to be space. My pick for the bigger spend remains an AM type player Drogie - like a Fekir, Fernandes ... type player..}

12 Jun 2019 22:28:35
oh man, no discounts? not even considering his knee? :p
lovin the transfer rumour mill this year!

Absolutely, they won’t be messed around like last time.
Agree with you re Fernandes, think he might end up at United though.

My uncle lives in the same region as you drogie, love it in france.

There needs to be space Ed as in you mean we need to sell first to make space for any arrival?

13 Jun 2019 04:16:07
I agree Ed02. If we're only looking at spending a lot on 1 player, I hope it's an AM. Brandt was my choice but I understand is likely going elsewhere.

13 Jun 2019 04:54:13
Brandt has already gone - he signed for Dortmund.

which one is more achievable for us ed.

{Ed002's Note - I cannot sensibly answer such questions.}

Evening Ed002 or maybe morning/ afternoon wherever you may be in the world. Do you know if Fekir himself would still be keen to join us after what happened?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I am sorry I don’t.}

13 Jun 2019 05:57:24
Peg leg, I’d love to have a place in Limousin! I’m only here for the week -Carp Fishing 🎣.

{Ed025's Note - i have never caught a carp drogie, but i have been known to have the odd liverpudlian on my line mate.. :) enjoy your trip..

Appreciate the response Ed002. Enjoy your day.

The leak also showed that we're being covered by BT Sport at 5:30pm. Even though BT Sport have only got the Saturday Lunchtime games.

Take of that what you will, but I see that leak as BS.

Paul Joyce of the Times, has advised that it will take a bid of at least £25m for Liverpool FC to consider the Sale of Lovren. He also stated that the Milan Director is a known admirer of the player, although no offer has been made currently.

If he went Salah wudnt be too happy them 2 are inseparable.

He’s an adult, I’m sure he’d be okay. He was happy to get his agent to talk to Madrid, maybe the reason they laughed him out was cos any deal had to include Lovren?

Now that made me chuckle. Good one Firmane😂.

We can’t keep people under contract because they have a bromance going on 👯‍♂️.

Salah is staying.

12 Jun 2019 21:35:14
If lovren goes Salah will have to suck it up and open up a can of man up and they can see each other if we play them in Europe or they can vacation at mykonos in the summer.

12 Jun 2019 22:31:12
firmino did alright without coutinho. i get it, salah and lovren seem to have something more romantic going on but it'd be ridiculous that salah would get so 'upset' at his BFF being sold. at that point, ya can sell salah too.

Think it would stop having Mo from going ahead with his restraining order tbh! Lovrens obsession is a bit unnerving.

Before you guys get all worried about the broken bromance, let's see if AC Milan or any other club is really interested in Lovren.

12 Jun 2019 10:31:20
Apparently Milan are interested in Lovren is there any truth in this?

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Lovren (CB) seen as a cheap option to preferred targets given the significant issues there are in Milan.}

12 Jun 2019 14:23:21
Lovren is valued at 25 million apparently. And, if I remember correctly, AC Milan are in a poor financial situation. I don't see this happening.

Lovren is a capable 3rd or 4th option and I suspect he would be happy to be used as such for at least a season. He seems to really like Liverpool, is close friends with a number of players (Particualrly Salah) and is coming off a Champions League winning season. I doubt there would be much reason to leave.

If he does go, who would be an adequate replacement? They would need to be prepared to wait on the sides, while Matip, Gomez and Van Dijk stand ahead of the queue for those two spots. Fry, possible, but it would do little for his career. Fry needs to be playing games, not sitting on the bench of a top team, watching his career wither away.

If Lovren does leave then, ideally, we would need to target someone older, whose prepared to train hard but with full knowledge that they may be used sparingly.

Personally, I hope Lovren stays. Decent player who just needs to overcome these constant injuries, similar to Gomez.

Think it would be good business for Liverpool if interested in de ligt. Vvd clear first choice Gomez often deployed at right back and matip a solid rotation option. Be interesting if this has legs. Lovren is a quality cb until he makes a mistake and then he can be calamitous. Also heard a rumour that he suffers with on going back problems don't know if there's any truth to that.

Agree3 Disagree6

12 Jun 2019 15:54:06
I'd snatch their hands off personally if there is any truth in this. I'd say Lovren was the worst of the CBs in our first team squad and at his age we should be looking to move him on.

Agree2 Disagree3

12 Jun 2019 16:29:14
If he left we could possibly promote Hoever to 4th choice. Ideal opportunity for him to develop.

Agree1 Disagree3

{Ed002's Note - He is a child and count train full time.}

12 Jun 2019 17:03:47
ed002 what's your take on Lovren would he be looking to move and would the club be looking to move him on.
He turns 30 next month so if a bid of £25m came in I think the club would be very silly to turn it down. As he has slipped down the pecking order.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Neither.}

12 Jun 2019 20:42:06
If a 25m bid comes in, we'll sell Lovren, no doubt about it. We wouldn't get 25m for Matip and he's the better of the two. I think we'd bring in a younger player to improve and grow into the role, rather than an older one.
