The 17-year-old striker is being followed by a host of clubs across the world, and is largely recognised as one of the most exciting young prospects in Europe.
The Reds have previously been accredited with a keen interest in Markovic, who has six goals in 13 appearances this season, but the youngster has revealed he only has eyes for Stamford Bridge.
'I really hope I can go to Chelsea, it's my dream,' said Markovic.
'I'm told there were 20 scouts from all over Europe in the VIP box when we beat Red Star.
'But Chelsea is the place I want to play. I had all the pictures of the team on my wall at home back to when they had Gianfranco Zola.
'And any time they are on TV I try to watch them. For me Chelsea are The best'

From the metro, hardly conclusive but can't see him in a red shirt anytime soon...

Siggle {Ed016's Note - I liked Zola. I despise Chelsea}

Wasn't that quote from a while ago? And didn't he more recently say something like "I'd prefer to go to Chelsea but Liverpool are also a good club?"

heard Liverpool had a scout looking at Luke Chadwick any truth ed {Ed016's Note - the 31 year old attacking midfielder with 9 goals in 130 odd games at MK Dons? I doubt it. Luke is that you? trying to fluff your way to the big leagues}

Why do people put so much trash on this site, some people need to get their heads out of their A$$3. chadwick, come on get real {Ed016's Note - Its a rumour site, I like the joke ones, that one made me laugh becuase I had to go google that player and just about cried laughing}

Not to mention ex-United failure

TSP

You had to google him ed, does that mean you arent very old, say 12 {Ed005's Note - Why does Google have an age limit?}

Wow pizza face is 31!? time flies

I missed those teeth ;)

Best rumour ever. Nice try Luke

Red Olie

If it is go and get a face transplant ur 1 ugly man...heard there's auditions for the next movie as well might wana go for the part of donkey!!

lfc to sign junior hoilett and a striker could be anyone from jevalivc/castiagnos/demba ba etc and how does macca get info about possible moves i dont think he is a credible source no disrespect

the knowledge man {Ed016's Note - But your name....yep....it does make me trust you and your knowledge}

Do you trust anyone ? {Ed016's Note - No I have trust issues stemming from severe abuse as a child. I will trust someone when they give a source with something. It's like writing a university paper, if you do not have evidence or reference then you may aswell have written a fairytale and handed it in}

Probably because Macca has been 90% spot on and you just speculate. Hoilett is actually not signing for Liverpool, but I guess a good guess.

I think you should keep your personal opinion about Macca to yourself, we have gotten lots from him which have been right on the money, prove that you are legit no handbags

Ed016 do you actually have any informayion on transfers or are you just here to give smart answers to everyone? {Ed010's Note - This is a football RUMOURS website if it was a football 100% truth website we would all be filthy rich. All the of Eds have to go through alot of posts so from time to time you may sense sarcasm or receive 'smart' answers}

12 Jan 2012 23:21:56
It's being reported we've tabled a £10m offer for palace whizz kid Zaha.

Kopkarl {Ed016's Note - Thats a fair amount, are you sure its not just a tenner?}

He is gd,we should sign c palaces j.williams as well pure talent. However zaha wont move if CP are in with a shot at getting to a final

Come on dude, £10 million, you sure??

Ed i love this site but i get a bit fed up of some of the eds constantly putting people down, i understand you getting annoyed with people who give you stick and dont use the search function but this is a rumour site 0r have i got that wrong. Grow up there is no need for the sarcasm. Michael {Ed001's Note - if people are going to make up lies, then they should expect to be ripped into. As for growing up, I think you need to man up a bit personally.}

20m fo downing, 16m for henderson, 35 for Caroll... why not 10m?

ed106 - i think you're mistaken - £10 was the highest offer we got for Poulsen.

"We haven't heard anything about Liverpool's interest," Sportconsult Nederland told to goal.

"There are all kinds of rumours. I can confirm that there is interest from Italy, England and Germany. Luc has the intention to stay at Inter, but he wants to play and make minutes. He has spoken to Claudio Ranieri about his situation and we are now working on it."

Italian sources claimed last week that Bologna were interested in signing Castaignos on a six-month loan deal as they strive to improve their attacking options.

Hi eds. did we try and sign Nikica Jelavic at some point? I QPR aparantly made a 7m offer, he may be the cost effective answer to a bit more fire power. Is there a chance?

Keenboy {Ed016's Note - I will slow down on jokes for a while give some honest answers to questions posted towards eds. If QPR are interested I very much doubt Liverpool would not get into a bidding war over this player. Infact Liverpool are very reluctant to get into any bidding war. QPR I believe have 30 million to spend in this transfer window and Liverpool will know that. I think he could have been a good cheap buy but then other clubs get interested and the price inflates and then even more so if there are a few bids on the table. It is why so many deals go to last minute in January, there is a lot of brinksmanship in the bids placed. Teams think they can always get a better offer. wish there was a course on the economics of football. I would sign up for that any day. }

Ill take over with the jokes and sarcasm if u want ed {Ed016's Note - Go ahead!!! that would be fantast!!!}

Atleast something nice & constructive to read.

Alvin

Got some examples to explain eds point above:

everton turn down 10m offer from man utd for Pienaar (sp) who ended up going to spurs for 2m the next window

eveyone expected us, arsenal and chelski to go in for Dann and cahill in summer. dann ended up at Blackbun, Cahill will move for about 7.5m - much less than the 15+ expected in summer

12 Jan 2012 23:17:01
Hi Eds

With AC Milan pulling out wouldn't it be wise to try to loan Tevez for rest of the season?..would be great to get another bee up Fergie's purple nose... just hoping! :)

Zain
UAE Red {Ed016's Note - Not realistic, how long before he would screw us like every other team he has been to?}

How would it be wise? we would pay a % of his wages and he wouldnt turn up to training or games, great idea

12 Jan 2012 23:09:38
Liverpool have enquired to Palace about Zaha.

This correct ed?..

I have heard this too
Panda {Ed016's Note - There are rumblings.}

I hope not, he's crap. Got the first touch of a baby elephant.

Redfilly

Its on the mail online {Ed016's Note - must be true....jk.}

12 Jan 2012 22:53:11
Were did all these Coutinho rumours come from? is there any truth in it Ed? Coutinho was be a boss signing, something creative in midfield. {Ed002's Note - Try the search function.}

12 Jan 2012 22:43:12
ed is do you know if there is any link with sturridgw]e because i heard that when chelsea bought meiriles there was a hidden part of the contract tht sturridge would come to us? and if a transfer is going to be mde who would it be? {Ed001's Note - nope, no link with us.}

12 Jan 2012 22:26:34
Hoilett fee close to being agreed... Should be our only signing along with Castaignos but he will only sign if Inter can get a replacement. Pretty sure if he does sign it will be nearer to the end of the window. The Damiao talk is wishful thinking, no chance of that. Macca's not one to be cryptic either tbf.

Dont expect any departures, apart from maybe Kuyt but its not likely atm... There is interest but no one wants to meet our asking price.

When Suarez returns we will have plenty of depth... Hopefully we can get to the CL with it.

12 Jan 2012 22:40:28
Some breaking news from scotland is that nikica jelavic his heading to liverpool for personal terms tommorow £8.9m was reported by glasgow times. Initial fee of £7.5m with add ons on top, no joke it is being reported on up here rangers have already put in a bid for spanish striker javi guerra as replacement initially was thought qpr were getting him but liverpool came in earlier tonight,

Dont want him,NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR LFC !!

Isn't he going to QPR? Well as long as Mark Hughes gives it the green light.

There is no Glasgow Times

Dude u are a fat liar. Just checked Glasgow times theres nothing on there regarding this made up story of yours. so stop talking rubbish

Jelavic refused to play for Rapid Vienna in a Europa League game, because he wanted to play for Rangers and didn't want to be cup tied. Sounds like a poor man's Tevez. {Ed016's Note - lol}

Would definitely fill the void I reckon. Good price as well, won't be a 30 goal a season striker but a good option none the less.

There is no such paper as the glasgow times, it's the evening times. and rangers have no cash, any money from sale of players will go to pay the HMRC

Evening times then and too you fatboy i am only telling you what i have heard. Wither its true i dont know but i know that there is interest in jelavic from liverpool, qpr, west brom, west ham and valencia this i know who actually bids i dont know

12 Jan 2012 22:37:06
if what macca says is true which it hopefully is.the 2 plays in contention are coutinho and castaignos.both are good but me personally I prefer coutinho.how ever i don't see the reason buying a winger or CM because what we need is a striker and that is castaignos so lets see what happens eh....

Liverpool to enter race for christopher samba as jsmie carragher Set to announce hos retirement at the end of the season. Blackburn hoping to wait to end of season to foght relegation then let him move on.

Would take samba all day long !! :)

12 Jan 2012 22:10:06
Heard from sources that Comolli was seen with the president of Napoli.

B****cks. he was in the Aldi buying a tin of Napolina chopped tomatoes.

Didnt think Charlie Comolli was that way inclined?

He's bringing Dossena back

WRONG - He is in Liverpool and working on signing a couple of player`s today ;)

12 Jan 2012 21:53:22
Liverpool to sign de Jong in summer it looks now

12 Jan 2012 21:51:56
Have heard that we are going to be going for Suarez former teammate nickolas lodeiro, currently coming back from injury but contract expires in the summer. Also surprised we not going for Julian Draxler (future gerrard replacement)

People throw the term ''future Gerrard replacement'' around far too often and easily.

He is irreplaceable - Ambassador Gerrard.

RobbehLFC.

12 Jan 2012 21:34:49
Liverpool have been very strongly linked with Daniel Sturridge. But amazingly have entered talks with Real Madrid about a certain Xabi alonso returning to Anfield

Ok go sleep and never wake up

Xabi alonso?? Dont even go there wont happen in a million years maybe a few years ya but he is the heart and soul of madrid every attack stems from him. Mourinho would be the world biggest person to let him go

Fifa 12 is just a videogame mate..........

Alonso was always going to be a success at Madrid; the game in Spain is slower and more technical. Very much doubt he could ever readjust to the pace of the premiership or would even want to especially as he's now also cemented his place in the National side. " So forget it! It's never going to happen."
kidmillions

I love your optimism ans how I wish so much it was true! Never going to happen :(

12 Jan 2012 21:18:58
i don't think we are gonna sign any big names until the summer

DOM LOVELOCK

We knew this at the start of january, as we are not in the champions league you cant attract these big players that everyone wants at the club

2 b honest we cant even say that...because if we dont get champions league football we wont sign any top class players

That rules out castaignos then? thats a big name it has 10 letters
Big Red Ed

12 Jan 2012 20:53:58
hi eds, any interest in leandro damiao he looks really good? thanks {Ed002's Note - Leandro Damiao seems to be of interest to several clubs at the moment not least AC Milan who want him to replace Cassano but need to free up a non EU quota spot to buy him. Spurs and Arsenal have apparently have taken a look recently as have Porto and PSG. His agent is talking up offers but that will probably not be anything to do with transfer fees, just possible wages. Over the summer there was also interest from Juve, Roma, Lyon, Sporting Lisbon and Barcelona have shown some interest in the past two months. Juventus may push for a January transfer but I don't see him moving before perhaps January 2013.}

Is this the young lad from 'Inter' that Macca was referring too?? Hope so! {Ed002's Note - No.}

Nice copy and paste job ed, thats the same reply you gave to me! i guess you must have a ton of prepared 'replies'..

12 Jan 2012 20:53:05
how about Yann M'Vila and Marvin Martin? I think they are the missing pieces of the puzzle.

How about messi and rooney? I think they are the missing pieces of the puzzle.
kopfiend 1978 ynwa

More chance of Marvin the Martian mate

How about messi and rooney? I think they are the missing pieces of the puzzle.
kopfiend 1978 ynwa

Yann, i agree no chance, but Martin, are u freaking kidding me?. We bid 20 for him now, he is ours. I have seen this guy play and he is very good, not yet to David Silva's heights but about 65% of the way through. In two seasons time, this guy would be spraying killer passes for fun!!..

12 Jan 2012 20:51:40
I doubt any one will come in until one of the ot her big clubs make a move i.e Di Maria to citeh, allowing us to go for Adam Johnston .The Pato to PSG deal has just fell through because the Tevez deal to AC Milan did, the domino effect ,just like last year but hopefully not a last minute desperation buy this time. I know the Inter rumours but i think we will still look to the Russian league for extra striker,namely Doumbia. JR

Wasn't it the other way round - the Tevez deal fell through because the Pato to PSG deal didn't happen?

Actually the Tevez deal fell through cos pato snubbed PSG

12 Jan 2012 20:49:03
Surely Berbatov would be a good signing...not sure Liverpool have showed any interest in him though.

I agree he is a great finisher-exactly what we need. Not sure about whether united will sell him to a rival team though.

How would a lazy striker be good for us?

What's Fergie doing, posting on this site.

LIVERPRES

Man u fan i'm guessing. Why do they come on here?! Its pathetic!

Are you in your salad days? Or just a bit tup. There has only ever been one transfer (ed correct me if im wrong) between Liverpool and united, and I think that was a loan move. What makes you think they will sell one of their better strikers to us.
Infuriating if you're serious. {Ed009's Note - There have been 9 in total I believe but the most recent was in the 60's, and the fee was £25,000 so hardly relevant today. I could never see it happening.}

I'm NO united fan, if you think Berbatov is not a good player (better than Carroll) you need to go to Specsavers.....
I also think Sturridge would be a great addition to the squad.

I cant believe some of the fantasy that finds its way on here

12 Jan 2012 20:48:40
huntelaar for 10 mil, formed a great partnership with suarez at ajax and could do the job here

12 Jan 2012 20:42:17
Apparently reports suggest we are interested in Loic Remy again a source claimed.

A source claimed: "Frederic Guerra is on Merseyside. He represents Loic Remy. I can't see him dealing with Everton so he must be talking to us.

"He's checked into a hotel so he's not going to be in and out of the city in one day.

"My hunch? He's been in the UK to speak to Spurs and because of our previous interest in him he's having a passing chat with ourselves. If I was Comolli I'd be thinking 'no harm in that'.

"Personally I didn't expect Remy to be on the move until the summer. There is a release clause but I don't know what it is."

The Rectangle- What do you think Ed do you know of any interest in Loic Remy?

Koptalk follower?

I'm not sure I'd rely on Koptalk for credible rumours
Gobsie

12 Jan 2012 20:25:04
I think Macca is referring to Sport Club Internacional; the Brazilian 'Inter'. The only feasible options are:

Leandro Damião

Marquinhos

McAlien {Ed016's Note - Where do these players come from? seriously McAlien? I hope we sign Jay-z in the summer}

Stop trying to be funny ed016 cos your not {Ed016's Note - yes I am. 24 hours and I got a hater already.}

Jay-Z would slot in well at CDM. He's built for that position.

McAlien.

P.S. Damiao. Remember the name.

I think McAlien is his alias for signing his posts, rather than a player name.

Hasn't Macca already confirmed that it is the Italian Internazionale, rather than Internacional?

Anyway - Leandro Damiao and Lucas Moura, as he is known these days, would be far too expensive. Hasn't Moura got a pricetag of £80m flying around somewhere? {Ed009's Note - Moura is completely unfeasible. Damiao is an outside possibility, but he would not come cheap.}

Ed u never heard if damiao? Looks a good prospect {Ed009's Note - He is a future Brazil international no doubt!}

Jesus Ed016, are you trying to get us relegated? Have you heard Jay Z's lyrics? If he sang a verse from one of his songs during a game, he'd get banned for 48 matches!

ED009!! YOUR BACK!!

12 Jan 2012 20:00:08
Eds, im confused are Liverpool actually interested in Podolski and is he even the type of player that we need?
Also, is the 'Inter...' that Macca was referring to the Italian club or the Brazilian club that Damiao plays for? {Ed016's Note - I am sure Liverpool do have interest in Podolski. Yes he would be a great addition and would fit in the team with a rotating top 3. It is just very hard to convince players to move when there is a major International competition ahead. It seems a bid from 13-16 million could do it, that also seems to be the price touted for Luuk De Jong as well another player I can't remember the name, So it could be that our tranfter budget is around 20 mil for January but only if the rite player becomes avaliable, which I am pretty sure didn't happen and hence why we are looking at a possible loan deal from Inter for Castaignos. Another problem is clubs want to keep these players because they know that the International competitions inflate player prices. This is just what I have gathered from what I believe to be reliable sources. I have no Idea whether it is true, so Macca could be talking about that Inter in brazil, yes. But I personally do not believe that is the case and it is Inter Milan as well do the other Eds...(hint) but I could be wrong and I won't care. But thats my opinion}

12 Jan 2012 20:00:07
Evening Eds

Do you know if we have been watching mason bennett at all ?

Thanks

Marc

Is he the b**tard son of Lee Mason and Utd legend Steve Bennett ?

12 Jan 2012 19:34:33
If we want a quality striker 2 names jump out - Podolski & Mario Gomez. Dont know how likely either are but these guys are proven both roughly averaging 1 in 2. This is what we need both are 26 - Podolski is up for grabs & Gomez might be tempted at a crack at EPL although Bayern might not agree !!
Bring one of these in a we have a eal chance of glory in the future !!

Any chance ??

YNWA {Ed016's Note - I think you will find that due to the Euros in the summer it is hard to convince players to leave. Gomez has said he is not leaving this Jan}

Its funny how people are so crazy about mario gomez. his first season for bayern munich he was just as bad as andy carrol´, if not worse. and now all want him. give big andy a chance, he is only 22 and have some good years ahead. and who say gomez will adapt...

I think the wy the Euros are at the moment, players might prefer to have their salaries paid in pounds!

12 Jan 2012 19:48:53
no rumour but i wouldnt say that whoever this youngster is we are apparently signing is goin to be a loan signing.we already have good young players as back up n would normally sign an xperienced player on loan as short term solution.my view is we will be signing coutinho on a permanant basis.jonny m

12 Jan 2012 19:19:08
Ed are sow or podolski still possible signings for jan? {Ed002's Note - I guess possible, but I don't think Liverpool have ever shown any interest in Podolski and Sow has headed off to Africa.}

But one of the eds said the other day there was defo interest in podolski from us? {Ed016's Note - different ed's have different opinions. we aren't omniscient creatures}

12 Jan 2012 19:12:09
"The transfer rumours? I can't decide the future by myself. If it was up to me I would stay forever in an Inter shirt."

Coutinho's words couple of months back.

Then maybe it ISNT up to him?

"Once a blue always a blue" said Rooney when he was at everton and who now plays for Man Utd take everything they all say with a pinch of salt.

12 Jan 2012 19:10:28
I think that we should seriously consider trying to sign Adam Johnson on loan till end of season with option to buy for round £17 million. I think it would make sense for him and Liverpool because he would most certainly play most games from the start for us which will be good for us as he would add much needed flair to our play and it also would be good for his career, ie; he wont be getting in the england side anytime soon if he doesnt play games and i think that would be a shame as he is a great talent who should be showing the world what hes capable of. I know this deal probably won't happen as man city don't want to sell to rivals but they did let Bellamy sign for us didn't they, so u never know. If they sign somebody on the wing like di Maria then I think it would definitely be a possibility. Cheers. LangLFC

12 Jan 2012 18:32:47
Liverpool have sent scouts to watch Jordan Rhodes next few games. Also interest in Junior Hoilet and Daniel Sturridge. Chelsea want a ridiculosly high fee for Sturridge with Spurs already been told it would cost £30mil for the youngster.

Toblerone

30 million for Sturbridge! Easily! If Carroll is worth 35..

Buy Leandro Damiao, give him sweet contract.... and id also think Lazar Markovich could do good on the right... get both for 30m prob...

Why would Chelsea sell Sturrige, who is above Torres in the pecking list

Sturridge would be my first choice. 20-25 mil would be a fair price. Guaranteed goals!

12 Jan 2012 18:20:03
I really think we should take Alex from chelsea he's been a rock at the back ok he's 29 but id rather buy him than overrated cahill. Eds is there any possibility at all? Do you also no which team have enquired about him? Thanks pops. {Ed002's Note - QPR made the offer and there have been a number of enquiries including a couple from Russia. He has specific needs that include playing regularly so he does not want to just be a squad player. He also does not want a contract beyond 32 at which time he wishes to return to Brazil. I don't see Liverpool happening.}

Er no he has not been a rock at all...You sir are a fool

MJ

Alex is not rock solid, he has been very poor when he has played this season, he was shocking against us, we have 3 back up CBs so why would we even consider him

Why does a couple from Russia want him - sounds a bit weird to me

Hey eds

Whats happened to the eds from the previous windows? One was the Chelsea fan, who seemed to have a lot of info and also one had a lot of connections in France? I can't remember what numbers they were..

Cheers {Ed002's Note - I am guessing that was Ed002. Damned if I know where he or she went.}

Am i missing sumin has ed002 switched with sum 1 else i thought was same person?

They are aliens really, just playing with our minds>

There are/were a few but I remember the female Chelsea fan, who had a lot of general info, and seemed to be 'well connected' and the other was the same but had a lot of knowledge with what was going on in France.. {Ed001's Note - they were both Ed002, she is mostly busy attending to Ed007's needs these days. While on the subject, I would like, on behalf of all the other editors, to wish them many years of bliss in their future life together. You couldn't meet a happier couple!}

12 Jan 2012 18:11:09
If we are signing Castaignos from inter whats your take on it eds? I just cant see the point in takin a young loanee in as cover. Dip into the reverse if thats the case! I cant see him gettin much game time so whats the point? {Ed002's Note - I have no details on this so cannot really help beyond what I said last night.}

Castaignos is a fantastic talent with a gift for scoring goals. I'm not a liverpool fan but come in peace to say I would be jealous if you reds get him. He has plenty of pace. If a big club gives him game time he will become a household name.

12 Jan 2012 18:04:37
Any chance we could swoop in for Ravel Morrison off the mancs, Quality player, Only cost about 500k

I don't want anyone playing for us who is named after a shoe shop and a supermarket. Unless it's that young foreign lad, Footasylum Waitrose.

That Giucci Lidl ain't bad though.

We are not signing a manc. period. for f*ck sake {Ed001's Note - we signed Ecclestone from United.}

Isnt he the little cocky kid who nearly got locked up for witness intimidation and threatening to torch someones house because they accused his friend of doing something wrong? Yeah like we'd really want a tool like that! Of course United stood up for him through it all, but slate us for backing Suarez, hypocritical mancs!

12 Jan 2012 17:59:48
if you look at the inter first team squad, i cant see us signing any italian players, the only young players left are the dutch lad Luc or Courtinho any thoughts?

Looks like I was right about Pato going to PSG.

Rewflo

Looks like ypou are wrong says on BBC website that he is staying at Milan

:-P

Apparently not. He's been on the Milan website this afternoon saying that he's going nowhere.

The Deals fallen through :)

H...omg...ha :D

We shall see. People in Milan still seem to think he will be going. Hey i might be wrong but this is the first time they think they have a buyer and trust me they've been looking for a year or so.

Rewflo

We shall see nothing. The deal is off. Galliani said that Pato wants to stay so he will stay and so Tevez deal is off too

is there any interest in asamoah and basta of udenise .
which position are we looking to fill up front cf,rf or lf.
i would like to know if we are scouting any african players especially with afcn will be starting.
and yeah one last question did we have any interest in
zhano ananidze of spartak moscow .
ramses ( goa) {Ed002's Note - Ananidze and the others mentioned - no. In terms of African players Moussa Sow has been watched and no doubt reports will be fed back from the tournament.}

do any of the eds know who has bid for Alex of Chelsea? just hoping its not us!
YNWA {Ed002's Note - It is QPR.}

Why would it be us? CB is not a postion we are looking at, plus he has been shocking in games this year

12 Jan 2012 17:40:22
with Maxwell off to PSG, is there any chance Barca could try to pinch Enrique?

arguably our best non-forward player, he would suit their 'all out attak' style of play, and is desperate to get into the Spain squad {Ed016's Note - He just moved in the summer}

They're gonna get Jordi Alba!

He will get in the spain squad with us

All of us geordies were telling you last year that enrique was class , and worth more than you paid for him! i for one hope he leaves you for his homeland!! and as for Carroll, you can KEEP HIM!!!

He is a fantastic defender, pace and vision, I really hope he is with us for a. Good few years.
Should be in the Spanish team and yes he is worth a lot more than we paid

kevc

Cheers kevc, geordiepaul (the original)

Signing of the season for me(that we paid for),i had my doubts,but he's proved me wrong,i dont think he'll go anywhere ! :)

Lucas is our best non forward player mate

Just seen a rumour about LFC taking a major interest in Courtinho...So i hope Macca was right also how bad are Nasri and Ballotelli's attitude those little gits should of got a slap

MJ

Blinkered or what do you forget we have Bellamy playing for us. I'm a Liverpool but Come on!! Talking about other teams players.

What is the second post about?

Did bellamy go for anyone or push any players or look for a fight because of a small tackle...No so your obviously not a liverpool fan and Nasri and Ballotelli shown just how spoilt and pathetic they really are, Your an idiot...

MJ

Agree about Nasri and Balotelli, but I still think the lads who recorded the incident in the car with Nasri looked like small time whoppers. I could have used that time more wisely to give him a much better class of insult.

I have not seen that incident but i did mean on the pitch they were like kids

MJ

Mate the interest is in Luc,at Inter Milan, Not courtinho, its on all the liverpools forums

he is a 19yr young Dutch striker. Lets hope we sign him. Carrol is awful

If you have the time look for a video on youtube where Liverpool fans spot Nasri in their car after the SF at the Etihad, they give him a good talking to

News story from back in Novemeber:

The 5ft 6in midfielder has made just two appearances for the Nerazzurri this season, and should his first-team opportunities continue to be limited, sources suggest he'll seek a January move away from the San Siro.

The Reds are one of a number of clubs that are interested in the 19-year-old, who was billed as ˜the future of Inter' by former Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez when he arrived from Vasco da Gama in 2010.

Coutinho made 19 appearances last season, but when Benitez was sacked in December, the youngster was restricted to playing in just five games under new manager Leonardo.

Things haven't improved for Coutinho under current boss Claudio Ranieri, but despite his lack of action, the attacking midfielder is still highly regarded throughout Europe.

Liverpool are short of creative flair in the centre of the park, and with Inter currently struggling in Serie A, a bid for around £7million could be enough to prize the forgotten teenager away from Italy.

This websites a joke. The ed's know nothing. It's really quite obvious that people such as podolski and ozil won't be coming our way. People need to wake up. This websites a piss take. They can't even declare who the inter Milan player is. Why? Cause they haven't clue that's why. {Ed016's Note - The editors do not claim to have inside knowledge. We have never said that podolski and ozil will be joining. Its a rumour site. If you do not like it don't post about it...unless you know it is a major issue in your life.......sad act}

Clearly the Eds made a mistake calling this site, "Weknowwholiverpoolaregoingtosign.co.uk". I shall henceforth be asking for a refund of my membership fees.

Actually I think the eds are doing a really great job... The eds have always given really good response as to who will join and who wouldn't. Buy with 99% of the posters naming the best players from fm and fifa, how do u expect the eds to answer? Especially after so many people complained about the eds giving a straight no answer. As to the macca rumours, I'm not surprised the eds don't know much about it, macca has links high up the hierarchy in anfield FACT. And if you like this site why are you here? Why bother reading through all the rumours? Support this site all the way!

Yet Another Keyboard Warrior. Just Leave the eds alone, they spend hours and hours of their time on this RUMOURS website, and never have they claimed that they, as Ed 016 has said, to have inside knowledge.

Red Lemon

P.S The Reason Macca did not name the inter player is because other sites will take the story, so just get off the Ed's and Macca's backs ok

The hint is in the name - "editor". They edit what other people submit. I'm just trying to understand what part of that you don't get.

Get off our website then
{Ed016's Note - thanks but remember guys, do not feed it}

I have only bee using this site 8 months and all i can say is the ed's keep the fans on the right track and macca is very reliable but if he dont want to mention the players theirs a reason a ie could get his source in trouble all i can say from what i remeber people on twitter claiming to be itk saying nearly everyday for 2 weeks adam on his way to melwood and the eds said no then hours before he signed the eds told us he was in a car on his way to melwood

Keyboard warrior....red lemon u r a legend!....put it this way, old mac'daddy has earned me a few quid. The ed's put up with abuse and i was an abuser to begin with as i too presumed they knew everything altho they had never claimed to. Its quite simple really, you'd like to them to know everything, but unfortunately they dont have crystal balls, just sources of quality information at times.

easyd

Absolute bellend. Go to the trouble of going onto a website, then posting on it to say u don't like, u optimise the new breed breed of so called fans who want success and all star players without a clue of how to get there, f**k off and support Real or Barca then.

Chiz

I think most of us like reading the rumours and banter. Don't think anybody here believes every rumor, nor do we expect the eds to. That being said, most new signings we have gotten over last few seasons have been stated on this site before it happens. Most rumors are fantasy for sure, but who doesn't want to live in fantasy land?

I agree with the original anonymous poster. No way on earth are the eds going to sign Podolski and Ozil. They're both far too busy playing footy to try and find out who Liverpool are going to sign. And I don't even think they'd want to be in the eds 5 aside team either. Unless they play goalie in and out.

If the website is a joke, log out... leave it to the rest of us to enjoy. thank you for the work eds and macca

I think you should make your own site with blackjack and hookers . .. .Aw forget the site

Go back under your bridge troll.

Dude you do realise this is a rumor site, for FOOTBALL. what happen, did the wife burn the spuds tonight or do you just need a hobby? If you don't the site go else were.
belfast red

Jeez lad if you can't take the bulls**t and banter in the spirit that it's meant then I really pity you. It's not easy to try and trawl through the endless rubbish, fabrications and occasional bit of genuine knowledge to produce sites like these. Give a little respect for the lads and ladies that make this rumour mill possible. Get yourself a big bottle of vodka, lighten up and just enjoy the show.

I think this is a great site...I love the drama of the transfer rumours.

12 Jan 2012 16:58:31
First & most important signing this year has taken place today!!... SG signed a contract extension excellent news. Congrats.
Big Red Ed

I'm wondering what is that 5 clicks on unbelievable button? ...is it something like an exclamatory of sorts ..like.."oh, unbelievable mate" ...I'm wondering, because for this news if someone clicks unbelievable as a disagree statement ...then those guys just go and die!

12 Jan 2012 16:35:31
I'm led to believe that the Tevez to Inter deal may be off. Could this mean Inter hold onto one of their Strikers they were potentially going to sell to us?

No as the deal was with ac milan and the club we are talking with is Inter milan.

Jordan

I think it was always more likely that tevez would go to ac Milan rather than inter. And I don't thunk that macca would come out say we have a chance of signing a player if it was based on the problematic tevez situation. So transfer for the inter youngster STILL ON...

It was always going to be AC so what difference does that make?

And i thought the ac deal was off cos pato snubed psg

You have been misled. Tevez to AC Milan is off since Pato is staying put. This mean Inter are back in the race to sign Tevez

I am lead to believe...ha ha

One of the reason's we've not seen much activity from Comolli and co is that we've not been travelling very far to look at targets recently.

Drenthe has been looked at, and is willing to give it a go, but loads of clearance needed with both Everton and Madrid disagreeing on the duration of the original loan, and Madrid haggling about a price and add-ons.

Cahill also being talked to, something we set-up after selling Ngog. Chelsea got in first and thought it was all plain-sailing, but we always had refusal on him and we've pulled him aside for the moment to see if we can sort out a wage.

Drenthe? Really? Why not really lower our sights and buy someone from the Blue Square league?

Don't want either. Both very overrated players.

I personally don't think either player will suit us.As far as Cahill is concerned I hope he goes to Chelski.I think we have better at the club.Drenthe is too much of an injury concern..

Why would be interested in Cahill when we have the one of the best defensive records and ample back up?

Drivel.

So we've been travelling really far and scouted players from across Stanley park and Bolton are you serious?

The poster said "we've not been travelling very far." Apparently Comolli has had his club BMW taken off him and replaced with a pogo stick for budget reasons, hence not being able to travel far. That's why Bent is a no go. No way would Comolli safely get down the M6 and back on a pogo stick. The East Lancs after about 10am, maybe, hence the Bolton player, but M6 and M40 in rush hour? No chance.

Incidentally, while negotiating for Drenthe, Comolli had to physically go across Stanley Park. For the first meeting, he tried to pogo down Sleeper's Hill and skinned his knee quite badly after hitting an empty Irn Bru can. I'm certain the eds or Macca will back up some, all or none of these facts. {Ed016's Note - they were out of pogo's at Argos so John Henry bought him a hoola hoop just to shut him up}

Drenthe out of contract at the end of the season. Why would we haggle on price or add ons when he can't move till summer as he's contracted to Everton till may and at which point he's available on a free.

Royston drenthe is a class act, has just lost his way a little with lack of 1st team football, been keeping an eye on him since seeing him in the under 19 european championships in which he was amazing and was left scratching my head afterwards when we signed babel and didnt get drenthe as well, he would be an excellent addition to our left side, has plenty of pace and can beat a man, twice the player of downing all day long!!

These true eds?

1) Carling Cup rivals Liverpool and Manchester City are battling to sign 16-year-old Bristol Rovers speedster Shaquille Hunter, according to reports.

2) Liverpool and Blackburn target Esteban Granero could snub England and remain in Spain with Malaga.

3) Liverpool FC are reportedly interested in Marseille striker Loic Remy.

4) Liverpool and Newcastle are monitoring FC Twente's Luuk de Jong but neither side has made contact over a possible transfer, according to the striker's agent.

And also this ghanain we've got on trial, any good?
{Ed005's Note - These questions have been answered numerous times previously. Please use the search function or scroll down the pages.}

12 Jan 2012 16:25:34
What we need I think is Darren Bent and Junior Hoilett . I wish King Kenny will sign with themm

Are you serious? hoilett may be good, but darren bent? we would end up paying another 20million for a striker whos moved so many clubs does that not prove anything? he may get his fair share of goals but seriously when theres talent abroad what is the point? suarez 25mill, silva 24mill - says it all about british talent

Seriously do we want a guy who goes shopping while his team mates are busting their balls ?

12 Jan 2012 16:17:11
''ed who do you think is more likely to be the loan player out of Luc Castaignos and coutinho? cause ive heard we have been keeping a close eye on coutinho since november ,i think he would be a good signing so i hope its him {Ed002's Note - We have no idea, sorry.}''

At least you admit you don't have an idea, Inter Milan young striker linked with Liverpool, only one of the aforementioned players is a striker, yet you don't know which player is ''going to Liverpool'' after you have had your ''source'' explain his information. LoL, great website, circus music continues..... {Ed002's Note - Tell me more about my "source" will you?}

Macca didnt say a striker though did e you doughnut,the circus music must be spinning round in ur head mate

They don't know everything you know.
The majority they get right and know alot more than you.

Keep up the good work Ed's.

KT!

Is this one of those circuses that never leaves your town? How lucky you are.

Yeah... And Your the clown of the circus.

12 Jan 2012 16:10:10
No liverpool interest in luc c. So maybe that clears something up

That clears nothing up

12 Jan 2012 15:32:08
So if we go by Maccas Information we are going to sign no one big ( good players ) an instead going to get some highly rated youngster who will turn out to be bad

Mark my words on this that he will be bad

DCx

That's the spirit!!

At the moment with no cl football we cant attract that many big names so we are being forced to sign players young and hope they develope into top players that will take us back to the top

Because you are the all seeing, all knowing.

That, sign off is incorrectly spelt and it should be DB... for Doc Brown. Well to Liverpool Rumours sire.

How negative can you be. We loaned Jonjo to Blackpool and he did not do badly did he?
So why should a young player not come here and do o.k. One thing for sure he cannot be much less effective than some of the supposed attacking players we have.
CR

We are going to get a player on loan. We dont necessarily want him to be pretty awesome player, just to cover for injuries and bans. If he comes good then the option to buy...Otherwise if we get into CL we can buy the "superstar" you want. Its a good strategy actually.

Next time we decide to splash 20 + mil for a player, it better be someone who has proven himself on the field, not some kid that's got "potential"...

And what would you know ? idiot

Thats the attitude to have and i agree with you especially since you can see into the future...go back to the computer games my clairvoyant friend!

EVer heard about Dortmund?
All they had was "kids with potential" and they won the league with them!

PITSILFC

As a famous scot once said 'you dont win nothing with kids'!

It's foolish to think that our team doesn't need improvement with high-class players.

Leandro Damiao would be nice... splash the cash....25 would prob do and give him sweet contract...

12 Jan 2012 15:31:09
SSN.

The agent of FC Twente striker Luuk de Jong has confirmed Liverpool and Newcastle are monitoring him, but says neither club has made an approach over a possible deal.

R-R {Ed002's Note - He should have mentioned Lille as well.}

12 Jan 2012 15:29:38
Zarate to Liverpool is not impossible.

The Loan would need the permission of the parent club. If granted the player can progress.

Similar to the deal currently in place for Daniel Pacheco.

Explanation:

Liverpool Loan Pacheco to Atletico Madrid and include the option of a permanent move available.

Atletico decide they want to see if he can perform in the league before they took up the option. This means that the team has no risks in starting him. So they loan him out (with permission from Liverpool).

Rayo Vallecano is now where is plays.

So Pacheco's deal is basically.

Liverpool -> Atletico -> Rayo Vallecano

And Zarate's would be.

Lazio -> Inter -> Liverpool.

Just to clear up any confusion :)

- Teez {Ed002's Note - This is not an option at all. Inter will keep him or return him to Lazio.}

The please explain why it is not?
The option was and is in effect for Pacheco. {Ed002's Note - He is on a loan to buy deal with Inter that allows him to be returned if the option is not taken up. There will be no provision whatsoever for Inter loaning him elsewhere. Pacheco is nothing to do with it.}

Pacheco have nothing to do but the story is same. so the question is that way legal and possible or not ? as we fear that 3 club rules may not let zarate move liverpool ? {Ed002's Note - The three clubs rule does not stop another move for Zarate. But Inter will not be allowed to reloan him, all they could do is send him back to Napoli. A move to Liverpool seems very unlikely.}

12 Jan 2012 15:28:27
Seriously what has happened to football these days? Who would of thought pato going to psg and eto'o to some Russian team. Surely pato at 22yrs old would want to play for a big team! Money over everything I guess. Not saying he should come to us but there are so many other better teams than psg. Money has seriously ruined football.

He gets to challenge for the title every year. Play champs league every year. And live in paris And basically play every game. If psg are the only team seriously interested. Why wouldn't he go there?

I read a couple of months ago that Pato was in a relationship with Silvio Berlusconi's daughter.

I said to myself..... 'that'll end in tears'. I don't know why Pato is leaving AC, it seems odd. But I'm gonna say with 100% certainty that 1+1=2.

BJH YNWA. {Ed002's Note - He is leaving due to injuries and questionable form.}

Have to agree with the O.P. I blame the Bosman case. That really turned the game on it's head. A big part of the game is now being controlled by agents whose only interest is their pocket.

Patos not leaving. Says so on their website.

Questionable form as a result of dealing with the stresses of going out with Silvio's daughter perhaps ed002?!

BJH YNWA. (the injuries could be related too!)

12 Jan 2012 17:18:23
He is not going to PSG.

Didn't people say the same about City's early signings? They're one of the biggest teams in the world now

Red Ollie

What ruined football is when it became possible for any team to line up 11 non-nationals as long as they were European. This has pretty much turned the game into a capitalistic nightmare. Anytime a player shows a bit of promise the big vultures come to snap him up and they are burnt out before they reach full potential. Pato will probably end up where he should have started his European career in the first place.

He is staying at milan

12 Jan 2012 15:27:21
Ed is there a chance of zarate coming? {Ed002's Note - I would suggest a loan of Zarate might make sense but buying him could be risky. Arsenal, Rubin Kazam, Spartak Moscow, Lille, Newcastle and Blackburn have looked at him and declined his services in the past. It is in the hands of Claudio Raneiri to decide if he keeps him at Inter the rest of the season or not. I think a move to Liverpool unlikely.}

12 Jan 2012 15:25:58
we have serious eyes on Cristian Rodriguez-Lm- Fc Porto, what information do you have of interest in the player eds {Ed002's Note - None from Liverpool. Some from West Brom and some from Braga.}

12 Jan 2012 15:23:14
Is there interest in loic remy {Ed002's Note - There have been no approaches to Marseille regarding Loic Remy from Liverpool but a third party suggested interest from Spurs and some sort of exchange for Pavlyuchenko which was immediately dismissed. Remy would perhaps be interested in a move to a leading side in the summer but Marseille may price him out of the market as they have nointerest in selling.}

12 Jan 2012 15:13:07
How long is spearing out for? And will Liverpool look for a mid if it's longer then a few weeks? {Ed002's Note - They will not look for anyone else. Gerrard has returned to what appears to be full fitness.}

12 Jan 2012 15:09:42
Eds, any news on this rumour about the Danish wonderkid Lucas Andersen coming to Liverpool. Thanks Ed {Ed002's Note - I know nothing of it, sorry, sorry.}

12 Jan 2012 15:09:42
no offence, but why is everyone getting so excited about a player the press mentioned 5 days ago (if it is him!) that until then most have never heard of, guessing 99% have never seen play...yet he is now the answer to our problems...really??
I for one was hoping for much more than this, we need ability NOW...no more potential

Spot on. Yes, we need quality for the obviously lacking first 11. Downing is the player I watched at boro (lazy, not England quality), Glenn Johnson hasn't got a footballl brain, Kuyt has always worked hard but thats as far as it goes, and Andy Carroll is the worst player ever to put on a red shirt. Yes, i'm even putting him before Shaun Dundee. Goal scorer needed NO TEENAGERS!
The rumours around most people I know (and we're all from Liverpool) is that the Bent deal is done and dusted, regardless of what is "official".
Why sign players in January who've never played in our league, as they would need time to adapt? Suarez was an amazing exception.
24 goals in 20 games is not good enough.

I gotta agree with ya mate ,he obviously aint gettin a chance at inter so at the moment he cant be at a level good enough .i got a feeling its Luc Castaignos and even if he did come in and do great we will have to give him back at the end of the season but i cant see him being all that

We would all like a recognised goal scorer but you can only buy what is on the shelf and then only if you have the cash. With Downing, Carroll and Kuyt performing so disappointingly any half decent striker would be an improvement.
I would love to see Dirk come good again but I don't think it will happen.

12 Jan 2012 15:07:33
Hi Eds, is there only one signing this January? Guy from Inter? Hope it's Couthino, he's has all the abilty to be a top player. Don't really know who the Dutch are.. Great site

The Dutch are people who come from Holland mate...we aim to please

You don't know who the Dutch are? It's them lot from The Netherlands, aka Holland. Glad I could help.

Kieran.

12 Jan 2012 14:49:22
Just a quick question for the Eds, everyone is trying to figure out which player Macca was talking about from Inter, would we have problems obtaining a work permit for either Coutiniho or Zarate, I'm pretty sure Coutiniho hasn't played much for Brazil so that could possibly rule him out, leaving Zarate, but is he reallly any use?

Gman82 {Ed002's Note - Zarate is on loan from Lazio. Coutinho needs a work permit and it may be difficult.}

Has Zarate player for Inter and Lazio this season? {Ed002's Note - Yes but not in games for Inter that would disqualify a move.}

Hello ed.In regards to the work permit situation, was suarez not in a similar position last january? Did he get a permit on the basis of exceptional talent? Im probably completely wrong but would appreciate your input..Could this possibly be the route for said rumoured player?..
D.Liver {Ed002's Note - Suarez qualified for a work permit on his International games and the ranking of Uruguay.}

"Yes but not in games for Inter that would disqualify a move."
I did not get in...
Zarate has played in 12 Serie A games and in 6 Champions league games so far. {Ed002's Note - Sorry, the LAzio games did not disqualify him. What I don't understand is why people are going on about him.}

Zarate has played for Birmingham on loan with an option to buy, so I suppose it's likely there is no problem with a work permit for him. He also has a right to obtain an Italian passport (if he hasn't already done so). But I fail to understand why he would interest LFC...

12 Jan 2012 14:40:55
ed who do you think is more likely to be the loan player out of Luc Castaignos and coutinho? cause ive heard we have been keeping a close eye on coutinho since november ,i think he would be a good signing so i hope its him {Ed002's Note - We have no idea, sorry.}

12 Jan 2012 14:46:48
I hope it's phillipe coutinho we are looking at, not gino coutinho...

Siggle

12 Jan 2012 14:44:11
Hi the ed's
would like to know if you've heard anything about the welsh starlet Elliot Lee, he's supposed to be the next big thing for Swansea and has been compared to a smaller Gabriel Batistuta. {Ed002's Note - Nothing.}

Checked Swansea website and don't see a profile for any Elliot Lee. Are you sure you don't mean West Ham's U18 player Elliot Lee, he is scoring goals for fun for them. However i wouldn't expect him to move anywhere, i know the family, it's one of Rob Lee's boys and his older brother Olly (Oliver) is also on West Ham's books.

12 Jan 2012 14:34:46
No value in January , What about Dempsey as a goalscorer proven in prem, low cost and good will to win attitude.28 soon I think, 5-7mil ready to go which is what we need we have enough players for the future,wht do you reckon ed ? {Ed002's Note - Maybe, but there is no known interest and why would Fulham sell?}

More to the point why would we buy him?Would he get a place at the 2 Manc clubs,Arsenal,Chekski,or Spurs? I'd guess not.He's got a decent if not great goal scoring record but will be 29 next birthday and at your suggested £5 to £7 million overpriced.

Not a great fan of his myself but would Downing, Carroll or Kuyt get a game for the Mancs or Chelski or Spurs or Arsenal ? Doubt it personally.

You've made my point for me mate! We need to buy QUALITY players not go after "Well he's not bad" signings!

12 Jan 2012 14:20:22
Has pato gone to psg then?

Siggle {Ed002's Note - There is a good chance he will.}

Pato has come out saying he doesn't want to leave this afternoon

12 Jan 2012 14:18:08
ed there is a lot of speculation about the 19 year old striker that plays for inter milan he is dutch his name is Luc Castaignos
could you tell us if liverpool are intrested {Ed002's Note - Perhaps.}

Luc has been rumoured on Walkon.com for some time now as coming to Liverpool!

12 Jan 2012 14:16:38
Jake Cooper From Pontefract currently plays for leeds united under 16s and liverpool are repotedly interested . I know this because i am freinds with him. He is a left footed striker an scores plenty of goals

12 Jan 2012 14:13:55
Hey Eds,
I must admit i'm a little disappointed that no-one else looks likely to sign other than this guy from inter. I thought we needed to address both the right wing and a forward. So i was dreaming of two signings. I understand that it's difficult to sign players in January and some are often injured but is this signing from inter really going to help us push for fourth? With no Suarez and if anything happens to Stevie again, we've not got much attacking players other than Bellamy and he's not guaranteed to play every game because of his knee. Andy Carroll tries but he's just not good enough {Ed002's Note - Suarez being injured wass never going to change the transfer policy. The feeling all along is one or two players only to cover injuries where there is no existing cover, players leaving and shortcomings. As such it should not be a shock to you.}

But ed surely if we need another top striker to go with suarez cause we will have a lot better chance of getting champs league spot ,we havent been scoring alot of goals {Ed002's Note - "Top" is subjective - the likes of Cavani and Higuain were never going to arrive this month. We know there has been interest in the likes of Luuk De Jong but we are now being told that the club may be looking to a young chap from Inter Milan.}

I still think we need cover for the right wing though, especially if dirk kuyt is to be sold

Ed Suarez isnt injured he is banned if you cant even get that right then im sorry to say i dont have much belief in what else you have to say in any of these rumours. {Ed002's Note - That of course was a mistake, but feel free never to read or believe anything I write - just skip over it.}

Tough crowd there ed. I think we should save the money for summer. I can't see any bargains out there and champ league players won't come. I believe we have enough to get 4th. Just need a bit of luck Feb is a bigonth looking at fixtures....

Gazman

12 Jan 2012 13:48:41
Macca, could you tell us when the negotiations over this player should be finalised and completed?

12 Jan 2012 13:35:09
zarate, zarate,zarate ffs you fools ;)

How could be possible to sign Zarate as he is still on loan at Inter??

12 Jan 2012 13:27:02
Hey Macca, this Inter player, is he going to sign a permanent contract or a loan to buy contract?

Thanks

JMS

Eds is it true chelski have bid for eden hazard. I would f***en hate to see him in that Blue sh*t. No hard feelings Ed002 {Ed005's Note - Not heard anything. I take it this was from twitter?}

It is on

Daily mail and the mirror ive seen it in {Ed002's Note - The situation remains much the same with Hazard in that unless an extraordinary bid is made in January, Eden Hazard will not be available to the summer. Real Madrid or Barcelona are his preferred destinations. PSG, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan are all interested to one degree or another. I said over the summer that I would not be surprised to see Manchester United through their hat in to the ring with Hazard as well. I don't see Hazard moving to Liverpool, Juventus, AC Milan or Arsenal for that matter. Chelsea have maintained a long-term interest but one particularly influential party at the club sees the player as having an attitude problem. Whilst his view has not changed Chelsea are keen to see if a deal would be possible.}

I do think it will be Castaignos on loan.

HK

12 Jan 2012 12:52:53
Do people get some of these linked names from video games?

Rumour has it that we will make a move for zarate. I just can't see it he's completely unproven as is most names mentioned.

I agree we need strengthen up top, shouldn't we be looking at someone proven in premier ie, Dempsey, Davies or even kenywen jones I know these aren't big names but would be solid stop gaps til summer.

No rumour has it that we will make a move for either Coutniho or Castaignos, not Zarate.

Didn't he have a stint with birmingham and do quite well?

Not at all! Not good enough and taken a step backwards, we need to gamble on young foriegn players!

Muller

Correct me if i am wrong but was the cannable of ajax ever proven in the prem No! And know hes our savior zarate is good a goalacorer and what we need remember we dont have mega bucks and the prem players you mention they are tagets for clubs like qpr and blackburn is that the callibur of players you want at our club

It wouldn't be step backwards its all about squad depth, Benitez spent a fortune on young supposed talent and not one has broken into first team.

For serious talent ie neymar, Shaqiri, hazard and so on we need champion league football which we have not got at the moment

Kenwyne Jones?! Can't get in the Stoke team Kenwyne Jones?! Mate you're mad as a bag of spiders. And which Davies? Kevin? Mark? Simon? Actually it doesn't matter none of them are anywhere near good enough for us. I'd be happy with Zarate, Castaignos or Coutinho all have potential, and Zarate looked well suited to the prem in his Birmingham spell.

Kieran.

Zarate is a good goalscorer? HahA!

While I'm not saying he is the player for us, he was incredible in his short time at Birminham and showed he is more than capable of performing in the premiership

What do you mean with "more than capable"? And just a note - high performance at Birmingham =/= high performance in Liverpool.

How is he unproven you idiot, he has played for birmingham in the prem before

14 games is proven is it?

What nonsense a quality player is a quality player, nothing can change that. Didn't we try to go down the "proven prem player route" in the summer? Stewart Downing and Andy Carroll have been so good since they've joined haven't they?

Quality? If he has such quality why are inter not playing him and lazio allowing him to go on loan?

Much is being said about carroll he was signed for the future, and downing has been consistent fair enough not great but he gives the team shape, he will come good!

12 Jan 2012 12:49:13
Hey Ed's i would like to ask , does liverpool have a big chance of signing coutinho ? cheers !! {Ed005's Note - I honestly don't know. Interest is there.}

12 Jan 2012 12:47:55
Take from this what you will i am not a believer that liverpool currently have the status to attract massive names however i do have a reliable source whome i choose not to name thas told me as part of the joe cole deal we get first refusal on hazard at lilles valuation weather it will be realistic remaines to be seen and even if we male an offer he may just snub us so as i said take from this what you will. Also is ther any truth behind the loic remy rumors as that deal would worry me he is not too prolific and would cost upwards of 20 mil o and suarez is staying belive me or do not but my source is relyable and he aint goin knowere
{Ed005's Note - You are about 6 or so months too late on that one. The "first refusal on Hazard" story was rumoured last Summer and it isn't true so I suggest you look for a different source.}

Yep, ED. And Hazard is no "big name", please. What has he done to make him a big name? All that is just fnas', media and agent hype.

BooDaBooze

You may or may not have reliable sorces but might I advise you to take a course in basic English since your post is almost incomprehensible.

Hi,

I am a newbie to site and love the threads been posted. Why do uniformed lfc supporters comment and I quote "Liverppol do not have the status and is not a big enough club to attract superstars". We are one of the best and most successful clubs in the world and any superstar would jump to play for LFC!
The reason for these stars not joining is we as a club are not prepared to pay ridiculous wages. We are under new ownership and these guys no what they are doing just look at the squad assembled to date also look how the Red Sox transformed into a championship side. The commentators in all our matches thus far comment by saying what a strong bench we have. The only missing ingredient is perhaps 2 big name players.

Tevez to AC Milan and Pato is going to Liverpool

First bit, maybe. 2nd bit, Tosh!

Yeah then Carrol to Newcastle, demba ba to utd, Michael Owen to stoke, kenwyne jones to qpr then dj Campbell to Blackpool, all thanks to tevez to Milan!

Honestly where do these people come from
G BOX

Pato to PSG is done and dusted.

-Shane.

Coutinho is a done deal, only work permit which will be sorted out on 28th.
He will bring that attacking dimension we miss and has loads of pace to burn!!...He's like a mix of Silva and Suarez!!..

12 Jan 2012 12:08:57
Apparently Liverpool, Ajax and Dortmund are all after Lucas Andersen. Any truth?

12 Jan 2012 12:05:28
It is now being reported in italy that coutinho has been put up for sale dont know the figure though rumoured to release funds for carlos tevez and zarate to head back to lazio that is the latest i have heard. My grandfather is hakf italian and is visiting there to visit his sick mother and i asked if he had heard anythin and he said that is what he has heard. He said he cant see it being luc castaniagos inter dont want to loan him out

Crikey how old is your grandfathers mother

My son is 17 and his greatnan is still alive!! whats your problem with people still being alive???

12 Jan 2012 12:04:24
Hey Ed(s), good morning. What are your thoughts/updates on Phillipe Coutinho and Lazar Markovic, is there any serious interest in these players? Personally would like to see both brought in, maybe one loan to buy (Coutinho) and the other a regular purchase (Markovic). I do like the style/flair of Markovic...loads or pace, good touch, and a proper play maker; can also play wide right. Ta lads... {Ed005's Note - I'm not sure of interest in either. Understand Markovic is a player we're looking at.}

Kuyt to Galatasaray for 5 million

12 Jan 2012 11:22:51
Hi Eds - interesting and very amusing site. There are some hilarious crazies on here - 100% FACT!

Anyway - no doubt we'll be waiting for ages for someone to come in but Samba has just released a statement slating Blackburn and saying he's ready to leave. Agreed we don't especially need a defender but he might come at a bargain price and possibly be a bit more solid that Skrtel. Any chance in us making a double swoop for him and Hoilett do you reckon? {Ed001's Note - I can't see it happening.}

Samba is a solid and powerful defender who is very good in the air but if you think he'd be better than Skrtel then you've not been watching Liverpool this season since he's improved out of all recognition.A similar case to Lucas who up to his injury was in superb form.

Skrtle has been outstanding for us this season, seems to have improved a ton.

Skrtle is solid as a rock this season, I really can't understand why you think breaking up the best defensive pair in the league and replacing 1 of them with a defender from a bottom 3 club would be an improvement!

Wouldn't replace Skrtel with anyone at the moment. If he continues like this, him/lucas will both be two of the first names on the team sheet next season. Who'd have thought that a few years ago?

I don't understand? What is the problem we have with Skrtl?

RuncornRed

Skrtel been player of the season

12 Jan 2012 10:58:44
Ed... Is is true that Liverpool have placed a £3M bid for Salomon Kalou? {Ed001's Note - not as far as I am aware, I have heard of no interest in him whatsoever, for obvious reasons, as he is not good enough.}

12 Jan 2012 10:31:10
Eds - Big rumour today that Dirk Kuyt and Royston Drenthe to leave there clubs and rejoin Feyenoord in this transfer window.

Drenthe is on loan to Everton and I don't know how his loan agreement is worded but maybe the Eds can tell me if he can just walk away from The Peoples Club and transfer to Feyenoord. {Ed005's Note - I think his contract with Madrid is up at the end of the season so if that is the case he can move on a bosman.}

Have they got enough funds to do this? Doubt it very much.

12 Jan 2012 10:51:02
just been looking on la gazzetta dello sport site and it,s being reported that castignios could be going to cessena la gazzetta is closely linked to both milano teams.nobody has reported this yet so i thought i,d put my 2 cents in.kyb.ps what happend to the real kb?

12 Jan 2012 10:54:06
I'd guess Zarate or Coutinho. Reason; I'm pretty sure i read on this site that in order for tevez to go inter they would have to free up one of their non EU players (correct me if I'm wrong please). And then theirs the fact that macca said it was a young player from inter. Could eds please tell me is Zarate on loan at inter? I'm gona say Coutinho is coming to anfield.
Belfast red

I think Ed002 said it was AC Milan who needed to free up a slot for Tevez.

AG

Yes on loan from Lazio m8, i agree its Coutinho.

BigD

Cheers lads.
belfast red

Zarate is on loan at Inter from Napoli. In order to get him, Inter and Napoli would have to agree to terminate the loan deal.

12 Jan 2012 08:09:21
What inter does macca mean as it could be the Brazilian striker that was interesting spurs as he plays for an inter

Please can u say which inter u mean?

Mark in London {Ed002's Note - He means Milan.}

One would think he means coutinho then.. but he's not exactly a striker

There is only one Inter, the other side is called AC Milan

Ed how do you know it is inter milan as macca only put inter.. {Ed001's Note - because the other Internacional are known as 'The Red', not as Inter.}

In Europe I believe, Inter means Inter Milan and Milan means AC Milan .....so the poster is already confused between which Club and after Ed's reply he'll rip off remaining hair .........so now the question is ...which hair? ....lol ...........Its so obvious Macca and Eds mean Inter Milan of Italy :)

...hate to break it to you but its coutinho thats coming to liverpool...sadly...with him we wil definitely push for top 4...sigh

Its Luc Castaignos and will be on loan...if it happens!

12 Jan 2012 07:50:02
I have a feeling Macca is referring to Mauro Zarate... He might be a Lazio player but he is playing for Inter.....and he is 24 yo.. he is a second striker / winger and he is similar to Suarez.....

I hope so he is a quality player

Get real dude! Is this site full of dim wits? Macca said young from Inter, clue - either dutch or brazilian probably the dutch one. Been mentioned on this site numerous times. Use ur brain ppl

Can u please show me where he mentioned the nartionality?

And I have a feeling .....tonight's gonna be a good night ...tonight's gonna be a good night ..tonight's gonna be a good good night !...so have a good night and read Macca's post with fresh mind!

Inter have said Castaigno may go out on loan for the rest of the season.
CR

I think it will be Castaignos on loan, although I think Coutinho is of interest too?

Disney!

This post is spot on
We were interested in Zarate last year.
He is on loan and either a loan or full transfer will happen if everything works out

I posted this info earlier bu the Ed saw fit to put it into the dodgy rumour category

AGREE - We tried to get him in the summer but he chose to go to Inter! He has amazing skills - probably one of the best dribblers in the game and usually is a good finisher as well.. Still young enough to improve further. He and Suarez (and I more top striker NOT CARROLL) will make us into genuine TOP 4 contenders!

Zarate is Lazio's player not Inter's. Inter cannot loan the player with option to buy. Macca said about Inter not Lazio. So forget about Zarate, your IQ is less of that of a potato..."This post is spot on" another joker.

Inter cannot sell Zarate but they can return him to Lazio who may decide to sell him.
And less of the insults we are all supposed to be "Reds" on this site - or are you a Red Devil?

The insults come because instead of focusing on the obvious answers i.e Coutinho or Castaignos you are coming up with names out of your asses and the only thing your prove is how stupid you are. Macca said Inter not Lazio. If the man in question was Zarate we would have been dealing with Lazio not Inter. How do you have a feeling that we are going to get Zarate when the other two are much more obvious answers? I can come up with a feeling too...I have a feeling that Macca is referring to Sneijder {Ed002's Note - I very much doubt that Liverpool are in a position to commit the necessary finances to bring Sneijder in to the club.}

It was sarcasm Ed...

Is this the Macca text you are referring to?
"The reason i don't want to mention the name is because last time i told you all about Coates it was all over the web..

All i am willing to say is if nothing goes wrong the player from Inter will sign..

It doesn't take a genius to work out..

Cheers

Macca" {Ed016's Note - Real Macca. Cheers mate that is a pretty good one for us, no one can argue with and can not really ask for more.}

Presume this is the text you are referring to - there is no suggestion here that the player concerned is owned by Inter “ it merely says - the player from Inter will sign..
Or, am I missing something?

You are missing a lot. Zarate is not in an age in which you can say "young talent"!
As Macca said it doesn't take a genius to work out...So you are obviously not even close on being a genius. There are two players who match the text...Coutinho and Castaignos. Everything else is bulls from morons who want to look like they invented the time machine. Take the obvious answers, move on and stop trying to be Sherlock Holmes.

Anyone think Rafa could have given this name to LFC being their ex manager.

You are missing a lot. Zarate is not in an age in which you can say "young talent"!

Can you indicate were I or Macca said "young talent"?

My take in the current rumours.

1) Luuk De Jong - Seems like the Ed's were right all along. We'll make a move in summer and he'll replace the outbound Kuyt. Things could change if other clubs bid for him now, but that's looking unlikely atm.

2) Coutinho or Ozil. I place them both together as they play very similar positions/roles. The latter will be harder to get as he's the more complete player, will demand champions league and will attract more interest. The former has talent and lots of potential and is more likely to go in and replace Maxi.

Plenty of others are talked about but two from the above three would start a good summer. Other than Kuyt and Maxi I can't see any other departures, unless Carra retires or we cut our losses on Carroll or Downing (pretty unlikely but not impossible). If Carroll stays and we buy De Jong then the other position to fill is right wing.

Lots of names are mentioned, including Adam Johnson (who I would like, but possibly if the slightly more pedestrian version Downing left). Other than him its tough, wingers who play on their natural side are rare nowadays, perhaps we'll find one an promote Silva or Sterling as alternatives. Can Hoilett play there?

I'm made up with last night, great result and platform. Hopefully a long awaited trip to Wembly awaits.

Coutinho a big risk IMO. I just can't see it, could be another Aquallini? It doesn't fit. We need someone to open teams up at home - yes, but I'd go for proven prem players. Fingers crossed it will work out. If he was all that would the Italians be letting him go? Odd one this, I hope we don't pay over the odds and cut our budget for the summer.

Gazman

Wat premiership proven players like Carroll Hendo Adam Downing? ? Yeah thats working well.....
S

How is Coutinho another Aquilani? What a stupid comment.

Just because a team is willing to sell a player doesn't mean the player is no good. Don't forget Madrid decided Sneijder and Van Der Vaart weren't good enough for them!

Scarface

Could this be a sweetener for any possible first option at any time in the future on Louis? It has been done before, and i know what Louis has said about staying and barcelona but big money awaits for the best players and like it or not, we cannot compete at the very highest wage bracket at the moment.
robbie

I just came here to see did someone say "what! proven premiership players...like Stewart Downing!"

lol. Unpredictable stuff here.

And btw, how is Coutinho another Aquilani? What a stupid comment.

IMO

BJH YNWA. (I write all my own material)

I meant in the sense that he maybe a bit lightweight for the prem. And maybe some of us think that the players you mention in the first comment have done ok. Sorry for having an opinion. Jesus

Gazman

Inter letting him go may not mean he isn't all that, they have 3 non eu places, they may be looking to fill that space with another player.

Also, unfortunately (not really!) proven premiership players are either overpriced or at clubs that will not sell to us.

Canadian Fan

I think it would be more beneficial to take an inexpensive risk on someone like Coutinho rather than take an expensive, and probably equally risky, risk on someone with more prem experience, as many players with premiership experience have come to Liverpool and failed to perform to their full potential. In my opinion there's more upside and less downside with a cheap punt on Coutinho.

Chicarito is also lightweight. Do you see him having trouble in the PremierLeague? I believe you think Suarez is Van Damme?
Aquilani didnt get much time to prove himself. Most of the time he was playing for us he was pretty good. I think the problem with Aquilani is that he was not committed in staying in England.

Mr anti-Liverpool BJH strikes again - what a t**t. I know what you are and you don't belong here. As far as chicarito goes - I think he's average - he cant get in the team at utd and does very little besides an admittedly decent goal return. In MY opinion we need a winger and a young striker. Id bring one of the youth through personally but in Kenny I trust.

Gazman

Also, did I miss something or did you say coutinho would be cheap? How much are we paying? fair play if that's true

Gazman

Id keep our powder dry and hopefully prize Adam Johnson away At the end of the season.

Gazman

Chicharito shows up and makes the most of his talent. How hard will Adam Johnson try in an LFC shirt? Little tired of English players not pulling their weight, to be honest. (Gerrard excepted, of course).

Chicarito average? Its one thing to hate red nose and another thing not seeing past your nose.

Chicarito v Saurez? Saurez every time yer muppet. Everyone knows chicarito is average. Both with poor goal records this season but I know which one is by far the best.

Gazman

Gazman

Lmao, u say Chicharito is average yet he can actually show Andy Carroll where the net is!!.

Hate me for saying this but Fungusson is just class. How can buy a player for nearly just a fraction of Carroll's fee and now he prolly worth about half of Fernando Torres's transfer fee to Chelsea??
To say Javier is average especially when he almost always scores against us is calamitous.
In that sense, if Javier is average then our Carroll is what??, lower than dirt??

On to the main topic, Coutinho is an amazing talent. He may be lightweight but why is it that its the light weight players who are lighting up our league e.g. like Silva, hell i think Silva is one hell'uva passer. I would even have the audacity to compare him to the great Zico!!.
Coutinho has lots of potential, he has played in the CL and would be a real talent in just 2 seasons if he was nurtured properly and most of all, since he has come from the Italian League, HE NEEDS TO BE GIVEN A CHANCE!!. Im sure if Aqua had the heart to stay in England and was given a run of about 5-8 games(major factor for him to leave us). We wouldnt even be buying the likes of Adam!!...

Aqua man is class did you not see him in pre season boy was on form we shouldnt have sold meriles and kept him we need that creative spark an hes got that i blame the hodge

Time will tell with Hernandez but I beg to differ, he scored a scrapy goal at anfield, big deal. I don't think ferguson is all that adept with signings, I think his true talent lies in man management. For now I believe Utd will finish 3rd behind spurs - IMO the worst Utd team since 1986. Sitting nicely in the league but they have to play all the big guns away yet. I don't see the problem with Adam, I think he has done quite well. If could have won all the games we have absolutely dominated at home then we would be up there with city. We are a good team and I believe that all the new signings have done ok. Caroll needs a few games on the bounce and a bit of luck. As far as new signings go, I haven't seen coutinho enough to make a decision either way, most people on here watch you tube and have a wet dream, I'm not sure this is an ideal scouting method.

One thing I'm sure of, we will beat Utd in the cup and we will beat city in the cc.

We are a great team - Kenny will get it right

Gazman

Its Zarate {Ed016's Note - oooohhh Thats what it is, I just thought it was the corn I had last night}

ED! .. lol ... have some mercy on a 5 yr old running out of tub full naked and screaming ... "Its Zarate" ! .. lol

Wtf ..."Its Zarate" out of your b**t hole ... I wonder how Zarate may feel when he'll read about this :D :D

Haha Ed016 you killing them this morning

12 Jan 2012 05:22:39
De Jong deal will be done by the weekend
{Ed016's Note - My roast beef will be done by 3:30pm tomorrow afternoon.}

And unbelievable it may sound but De Jong will drop in at Ed's to have that Roasted Beef ..lol

Judging by the responses, I think Ed016 has been spending too much time with Ed002...

Can i come? I'll bring a sixpack...

12 Jan 2012 04:37:22
hi everyone
with Kuyt not playing very often do you
think it could be possible,he could be heading the other way in some sort of exchange deal?

lfcscott. {Ed016's Note - I tell you what I would rush to a Junior Hoilett to take a Dirk Kuyt. He was linked to Inter when rafa was there, it is just someone picking up on the Inter link putting 1+1 together and thinking they solved everything. He will leave in Jan or the summer.}

You must be insane if you think Inter would sign Kuyt.

Rafa isn't there anymore, his love of Kuyt cost him his job, yet he tried to go back for more. I struggle to think of anyone who would pay Kuyt's wages really, never mind pay a fee! It'll be a really badly run club that does pay it.

Russia? the Middle-East? the US?

I hope.

BJH YNWA.

Ok so Macca says Inter - besides the obvious one (Milan) there are 2 others 1 is a German team founded about 20 years ago to help youngsters achieve a certain level of football and that s about all i bothered to check out about them.

My main interest was Sport Club 'Inter'nacional of Brazil so i thought i'd put up a list of their players and see if anyone can shed any light on possibilities from this lot as Macca may have thrown us a curve ball :) obviously not all the positions are of interest to us so certain players can be ruled out some of them may have work permit issues too but not sure which ones.

Some have dual nationality so work permits may not be an issue, also some of them are out on loan at the moment but the only players i have heard of are Oscar, Lucas Roggia, Jo, Leandro Damião & Andrés D'Alessandro so take your pick.
1 Brazil GK Muriel
2 Brazil DF Bolívar (captain)
3 Brazil DF Índio
4 Brazil DF Nei
5 Argentina MF Pablo Guiñazú
6 Brazil DF Kléber
7 Brazil MF Tinga
8 Argentina MF Mario Bolatti
9 Brazil FW Leandro Damião
10 Argentina MF Andrés D'Alessandro
11 Brazil FW Dagoberto
12 Brazil GK Renan
13 Brazil DF Dalton
14 Brazil MF Glaydson
15 Brazil DF Fabrício
16 Brazil MF Oscar
17 Brazil MF João Paulo
18 Brazil FW Jô
19 Brazil MF Lucas Roggia
20 Brazil MF Gilberto
22 Brazil GK Agenor
23 Brazil MF Zé Roberto
25 Brazil MF Elton
26 Brazil MF Wilson Mathías
27 Brazil DF Ilsinho
29 Brazil FW Dellatorre
31 Brazil MF Romário Leiria
32 Brazil MF Marquinhos
33 Brazil DF Rodrigo Moledo
35 Brazil FW Sandro Silva (on loan from Málaga)
45 Brazil DF Juan
66 Brazil FW Zé Mário

Players with Dual Nationality

Brazil Portugal Tinga
Argentina Italy Andrés D'Alessandro
Brazil Germany Muriel
Argentina Italy Mario Bolatti
{Ed016's Note - I wonder how silly he feels when its Inter Milan}

Everyone is missing the prime candidate
Zarate
He is on loan at inter this can easily become a loan to Liverpool and is within Fifa regulations {Ed016's Note - he would just return to his club and then to us. not in a physical sense, but inter would have nothing to do with the deal}

Get real! It's Internazionale Milan! It's a either luc or Coutinho. Maybe just maybe Alvarez but doubtful. I honestly think its just short term as in a loan. We all know how kenny works {Ed016's Note - Remember Tevez is going that way, could be Alvarez but Macca said it was someone who was talked about on this site}

Lol I think youre my new favorite Ed

Maybe it's bRIgToN and hovE albion!!! And it's a REAL curve ball!!!!

Macca also the person who wad coming in was an obvious one... If you had a little think. Why you spent soo much time researching something that wad wrong? I don't know..

Don´t forget Inter Turku of Finland...

Yes
Zarate plays currently for Inter
This is who Macca is refering to
Is it clear now?

They all have fantastic names, we could have our own Mario B

12 Jan 2012 04:18:34
What About

Kuyt +3M = Luc Castaignos (Loan to Buy) + coutinho

-- Would you make this deal {Ed016's Note - PLayer exchange deals are a rarety}

12 Jan 2012 04:07:14

ynwadave

12 Jan 2012 03:33:31
Just a question Ed...Leandro Damiao also plays for Inter, just a different Inter. Could it be? Any chance Macca could surprise us? {Ed016's Note - Before the post button is a search option.}

12 Jan 2012 03:07:53
how many signings are liverpool going to make eds please, and will it be before the 31st. so we are not going through the saga of last january. And is there any updates on Hoilett.

And keep up the outstanding work you do for the supporters. {Ed016's Note - I believe one....maaaaybe two but I think just the one. Yeah Hoilett, he is linked to every club and their next door nieghbours}

12 Jan 2012 02:26:54
hey eds
have we gone further into signing luuk de jong, or is it still enquires {Ed001's Note - I am told that we have been told he wants to stay there until the summer, at least, and won't be interested in a January move.}

12 Jan 2012 02:24:37
hi people
i was wondering if their was any update on the Ozil situation and also is it true that we are almost set to a bid for lucas of saul paulo

Hey Eds.

Two things.

I've heard that Liverpool have tabled a bid for Cristian Tello who plays for Barcelona B. Apparently they have monitored his situation for quite some time. Is there any truth in this that you know of?

Also, why is "Macca" so trusted when it comes to the rumours? I am very interested.

Source: Brother lives in Spain and is friends with an Agent.

Cheers.

LFCBoy123 {Ed001's Note - I have not heard anything much regarding him, other than lots of talk and that he has a 10m release clause.}

Hi all. Have a feeling it's not castaignos seen as macca hopes it happens and no one would hope for a player that can't make the team of a struggling inter side and who won't help Liverpool in any way(castaignos). Hopefully it's the skilled coutinho.

Castaignos is 19 yrs old and has a great scoring record

I agree with the above poster How many 19 year olds get regular first team football at any top flight club unless they are really exceptional like you're rooneys,messi's and owens. Players that age need to develop but both the players Macca have mentioned both have promising stats for their ages

Hi eds/macca, just two things I want to know is what continent is he from and also what stage the deal at if it goes without any glitches? Days or weeks? Hope to hear a response thanks guys {Ed016's Note - He is from Terra Nova. (seriously though, it's his personal information. Time frame....till the end of Jan}

Knowing what continent he is from gives us a better idea who it is or is not, i.e. I hope it's not castaignos so if it's not Europe that rules that hopeless plank out

Terra Nova? So it's a dinosaur?

Coutinho tailed by Liverpool as Inter Milan continue to overlook the star

Liverpool are paying close attention to Coutinho's situation at Inter Milan, as the Brazilian is becoming increasingly frustrated with his bit-part role.

The 5ft 6in midfielder has made just two appearances for the Nerazzurri this season, and should his first-team opportunities continue to be limited, sources suggest he'll seek a January move away from the San Siro.

The Reds are one of a number of clubs that are interested in the 19-year-old, who was billed as 'the future of Inter' by former Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez when he arrived from Vasco da Gama in 2010.

Liverpool are short of creative flair in the centre of the park, and with Inter currently struggling in Serie A, a bid for around £7million could be enough to prize the forgotten teenager away from Italy.

from yesterday:

EXCLUSIVE
By Guus Hetterscheid

The management company of Inter striker Luc Castaignos has guaranteed that Liverpool have not tabled a bid for the player.

It had been suggested that the Premier League side were interested in the 19-year-old as a short-term solution after Luis Suarez was handed an eight-game ban by the FA for racially abusing Manchester United defender Patrice Evra.

The Netherlands Under-19 international, who moved to Inter in the summer, has struggled to make his mark at the San Siro outfit, having made just five competitive appearances so far for the club.

"We haven't heard anything about Liverpool's interest," Sportconsult Nederland told .

"There are all kinds of rumours. I can confirm that there is interest from Italy, England and Germany. Luc has the intention to stay at Inter, but he wants to play and make minutes. He has spoken to Claudio Ranieri about his situation and we are now working on it."

Italian sources claimed last week that Bologna were interested in signing Castaignos on a six-month loan deal as they strive to improve their attacking options.

so possibly coutinho it is then.DORSET RED

we need a 20+ goal scorer, just like when we brought Torres in, not some youngster. This way we wont win anything soon. Just look how many goals have Torres scored and how many did the whole team a few years back when we nearly won the title. We need a world class scorer, and Andy Carroll needs to be sold while we still can get any money for him because with performances like tonite he isnt worth a dime( and dont tell me he is the one for the future, I cant see any progress as much as I would want), and this has been going on for too long. {Ed016's Note - yeah I'm going to do it. He is one for the future}

We have Carrol, plus he on a new years diet

Totally agree mate we need a goalscorer now not someone who MIGHT be in two years time, id actually have ngog back over carroll and people will probs hammer me for that but at least look at ngogs goalscoring ratio he was far better...

Andy Carroll is one for the future

cozinoz

We have the 20+ goalscorer in Suarez. But in order for that to happen we need another addition for assists.

We need a david silva type player for me and I hope if we do get a player from inter it will be coutinho

Lets not loose faith yet, remember when Lucas Leiva first came to Anfield. Trust in Kenny YNWA

How is Carrol 'one for the future' - HE'S 23!! that's less that two years younger than the likes of Suarez, D.Silva, S.Aguero, Torres (when first signed) and think how young Fowler, Stevie Mac, Stevie G and Owen were when they lit up the Kop.

Andy needs to go out on loan to get more game time or a permanent transfer. his ability wont improve playing a bit-part, and his attitude certainly wont (although i'm sure he's happy with the salay he gets for doing sod all!)

Torres joined when we were in the champs league. Which world class striker do u expect to join us at the moment?! Have faith in Carroll - Drogba didn't come good till he was around 24.

Sorry Cozinoz I have to disagree with you today. Potential future players shows some flashes of brilliance......Carroll has shown none. If we r playing the way we will play with him in the future then the future is bleak. He has no pace has no strength and no skill on the ball. What is he good for?

I really wonder about liverpool, as many as they have spend, but if compare with spurs, we really are out of the 5th. spurs who spend a little, but can bring a victory, however, lfc still the same as last season. Ntg change, all depend on 1 player. Before torres, gerard ,now suarez, gerard. So please, as LFC Fans, please bring a quality player to the club. And not a flood to the club. {Ed001's Note - Spurs have been building their squad for years, Liverpool have only had one year to build ours.}

Torres was not a 20 goal a season striker when we got him.

He was also 'a kid'.

What are you talking about?

BJH YNWA.

We just need someone who can chip in with half a dozen goals over the next few weeks. That will be a massive improvement on what we have, and probably get us to to top four. We don't really have indefinite time to wait for players to "come good". That's a luxury that Man U or Man City can afford - we can't.

Eds kuyt didn't play today.. sign that he's about to move once we sign the player macca is referring to? {Ed001's Note - there is every chance he will be on his way.}

A guy who kills himself on the pitch, runs like a machine. thats a shame

If Kuyt does leave either Jan or summer, I hope the club gives him a fantastic send off. He is a truly good guy.

Liverpool are said to be monitoring Tottenham's interest in Marseille striker Loic Remy with a view to pipping the North London side in the race to sign the French international.
