Ed, I know you guys are big admirers or Aouar and have mentioned him as your ideal man for the midfield. I wanted know if we hold any interest in him?
{Ed002's Note - There is a great deal of interest in Aouar from elsewhere but Liverpool have shown no interest and are financially not in a place where a bid would be viable without significant sales.}

Pw-Aouar that would be the dream, here’s hoping if Gini Doesn’t sign a contract and we sell him, Wilson and Grujic then we can only dream .

Why would you "hope" that Gini doesn't sign a contract? Whether he leaves or not, he wouldn't fetch a hefty fee going into the last year of his contract.

Thanks Ed2 for the reply. @thesouthernred as much as I would like Aouar to sign I would be happy for Gini to sign as he knows our system and gives his all to the cause.

Agreed he does suit the system but Aouar is already very good and on 21 where as Gini is nearing 30 and wants to head back to the Netherlands soon.

What is this thought that Gini wants to go back to the Netherlands? He's only 30 and could easily play for any of the top teams in any of the top leagues. It's not as if he's 35 and almost at the end of his career.

Whoever suggested hoping, I don’t know the reason why a contract hasn’t been signed and I love gini as much as the next but Liverpool football Club should not be sat waiting for a player, if the intent isn’t there then we need to do what’s best for us, I’d love him to stay, if not, thank you and goodluck but the club is number one.

Gini's agent said he is happy at Liverpool, what's with not signing? Is his agent trying to drum up interest in him to get him higher wages Eds? Gini has had good spells and bad imo.

I wasn’t inferring he was joining, more of an explanation of why we would look for someone in the mould.

For some fans Ed. Very few would know, that comment on here anyway, whether he's been offered a new contract, is in talks or has it signed and it hasn't been announced yet. Me personally I think he's a solid professional who if he stays then great and if he's looking for one last move before finishing up then he owes the club nothing.

I was under the impression he had been offered a contract months ago and it had remained unsigned, sure its been mentioned by a Ed.

I am sure one of the eds, maybe ed1, mentioned a contract offer was put forward months ago. I don't know.
I'd also find it surprising that Gini would want to be returning to the netherlands now. he still has so much to offer in Europe's top leagues.
