Hi eds,

Do you think Dempsey will move from Spurs this summer and would we still be interested?Cheers

ForzaRed {Ed001's Note - they are looking to add to their forward line, with Adebayor the one to make way, as things stand. Dempsey might be available for the right offer, but it is unlikely he will move this summer.}

Believable2 Unbelievable57

Why do you want Dempsey? He was very disappointing at Spurs last season and we have several players who can operate just as well or better in his position. He would be another 'squad bolstering' player and Brendan said today that he is only after first teamers now.

Agree5 Disagree0

It's been reported spurs are trying to sell him

Agree0 Disagree1

Think we have moved on from a Dempsey type signing

Agree5 Disagree0

Don't want like last summer

Agree4 Disagree0

I hope we don't get Dempsey, I was glad we didn't get him last summer, neither Dempsey nor Siggurdson would have improved Liverpool in the first half of last season, we needed goals in BR's first 6 months, neither player scores many goals, I think either or both would have been another case like Charlie Adam, big fish, small pond, this has been proven at Spurs who both have flattered to deceive

Agree8 Disagree0

I don't want Dempsey at LFC as he isn't what we need, but I do think he is much better than he showed at Spurs last year. He's at his best when played behind a striker and they didn't really play him there much if at all from what I can remember. Not really sure why they bought him to be honest.

Liverpool have had a bid of 6.7m rejected by club verona for jorginho. Liverpool are expected to increase the bid too 8m

Would not be a first team player BR said we are looking at players to be team payers

Agree2 Disagree0

Can Eds tell us something special about him .
in CAM position, we have enough players. like coutinho, alberto, gerrard, hendo or even allen etc.
SO why do we need to buy him?
can he turn out to be veratti?

BR quoted on the BBC 'We have worked hard in the early stages of the transfer window to bring in players to improve the squad, in the next 3-5 weeks we will be working hard to get players to improve the team'. Should keep a few moaners happy.

Believable72 Unbelievable13

I doubt it Tom

Agree1 Disagree1

Toure, Aspas, Alberto, Mignolet not squad players

Agree2 Disagree1

Seems we missed out on r main target who Dortmund stole so who was the back-up to this loss?!
Guess we r going to b waiting to end of transfer window again just when we thought r transfers were all being done early {Ed052's Note - Dortmund didn't 'steal' Mickey.}

Agree1 Disagree1

11 Jul 2013 20:38:33
id be happier if he had said 'next 3-5 days', but i'm just being picky!

Agree2 Disagree0

Are the quotes exclusively about recruitment or did he mean actually working out who his strongest 11 is and how to take that particular team forward making it stronger?

Agree2 Disagree1

On tv, the name of the article which feature the quotes is called "rodgers plans more signings".

Think there is a part where he talks about making lists of players who they can afford etc. so this definently suggests that we are going to recruit more players.

Agree1 Disagree0

And then on this morning he said they would 'hopefully look to bring in 1 or 2 more, if we can' - well we still need a cb, dm cover, potentially a lb, definitely a striker to replace suarez

Agree1 Disagree0

Anyone else happy that we foinally have a manager who will at least say these things as opposed to the last few who would rather say something like " I don't know see what happens" and refuse to give any clues as to what the plans are to excite fans

Agree0 Disagree0

We should remember he said this last summer and ended up with nothing!

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jul 2013 21:39:19
Rodgers has said many things last season & some were embarrassing, we can still win the title, when aguero tore us, he said we will look to bring players of that quality, we need 3-4 world class players, even after falling from 3 point to 12 only 4-5 games were left he said I have no doubt we can still achieve champions league etc, whatever he has said never happened, the biggest was I would even bought Allen for 25M if that was his clause, so fans don't listen him too much because you will be massively disappointed!

Any remote truth about Flamini ed?
Thankyou so much. {Ed022's Note - I can't see it myself but I suppose it wouldn't be entirely out of the question? Minimal chance though, in my opinion.}

What is our current situation with Ince, are we still pursuing him? If so, any plans to hang on to Assaidi? Think we could use his flair in some faster paced games {Ed002's Note - I think interest in Ince has gone.}

Believable7 Unbelievable31

Hello Ed,
read on a site Fulham are interested in
Evgen Konoployanka and his club are asking for 10 million pounds. Have we showed any interest?
Would be a steal especially at that price and would be a quality replacement for Downing. {Ed002's Note - Konoplyanka has been subject to two significant offers from Galatasaray and Zenit - both of which have been turned down. There is plenty of other interest in him, but none from Liverpool that I am aware of.}

Agree0 Disagree1

Thank **** we have ended interest in Ince. Will do ok but as per Zaha average talent hyped due to Playing in England.
Are either as good as robben for example, nope but 8 and 15 mill?! Overhyped overrated on to the next one

Hello Eds,
any news on outs?
1.Thought the fee for Spearing was agreed so what is the hold up?
2. also any furhter progression in moving on Downing, Assaidi, Flanagan, Pacheco and possibly Coates? {Ed002's Note - I don't know of hold ups nor anything new.}

I spoke to Ince at a friendly on Saturday and asked if he was returning and he replied "I doubt it"

Seems everyday we are linked with someone new. yesterday it was bernard and today I've read a few reports that we are monitoring yilmaz from gala. Journalists seem to just need things to write about but I wonder if there is any actual interest in him? I remember being linked with him last year a few times. Must admit I think he is the type of player that could light the prem on fire. Any idea what type of fee gala are looking at for him? Thanks and keep up the great work! {Ed002's Note - Before he left Trabzonspor for Galatasaray in the summer of 2012 Burak Yilmaz attracted interest from Sevilla, Spurs, Fulham, Dortmund, Beyer Leverkusen, Liverpool and Newcastle. Lazio and Lokomotiv Moscow spoke with the player in January after the clubs agreed that they would meet the asking price from Galatasaray - but that has now risen considerably with his performances in the latter half of the season. I really don't want to get in to the numbers being discussed with the interested clubs.}

Hi Eds great work.
Any interest in gala forward Burak Yilmaz

Cheers
Mark {Ed002's Note - Yes but not from Liverpool as far as I am aware. There are two clubs in active discussions with Galatasaray over the player and there is a good chance he will be moving this summer. If Liverpool wish to act, now is the time.}

Believable25 Unbelievable14

Probably pointless asking ed but what sort of fee are Galatasaray looking for as there president has said they have a price set in mind and if that price is met than a deal will be done. {Ed002's Note - I don't want to get into the fee, but their asking price is very significant and a very decent offer was rejected a couple of months ago.}

Agree2 Disagree0

Ed isn't the other club interested and whose offer was rejected Chelsea? {Ed002's Note - The two clubs in discussions are Lazio and Chelsea.}

Is that the striker chelsea want ED? Bit of a stepmdown from Cavani ahd Falcao

Hi Ed's

Is there any interest in the new Belgian talents (Praet, Malanda, Bruno, . )?
I just don't want us to splash a lot of money on an overated English player while we wouldn't have to pay a lot of money on these talents

We all know Belgium created a lot of players already, why can't we buy a talent for 5-10 mill and later have a player like Kompany, Fellaini etc

Thanks anyway

Belgian Red {Ed002's Note - Liverpool had someone watching Praet in the Champions League game between Anderlecht and Zenit Saint Petersburg last season and a number of other clubs have had scouts take a look at the player. Ajax and AC Milan have declared an interest in the player with his club, Anderlecht.

Everton and Fulham have a sustained interest in Zulte Waregem's Malanda and Wolfsburg have been in contact with his club - but there is a complication as he is looking to force a move out of the country using Belgium's employment laws. This gives potential for claims to be made, a tribuneral and a court case before anything could happen - and that may take months. This ugly and unpopular route of action has been going on since July 1 and legal advice to the player has been to return to his club and request a transfer, hoping that the club lower their valuation.}

Hi great eds, pals. Hope everything is well. I like you so much Ed002 (not love, as I kno you'l be a very tough lady!). Will you agree with me that Benard will be a great acquisition if we manage to sign him? Sorry to say I haven't watched much of him, but I've been impressed with what I've seen so far. Your assessments and judgement of players too are often spot on Ed002. Do you also think we will become interested at some point in time to consider signing him? Him and Coutinho interchanging positions on the left side of midfield and the CAM will be awsome.

A Ghanaian fan {Ed002's Note - I have no doubt that Atletico Mineiro's Bernard is a talented young man and would be a very good addition to the Liverpool squad if he could be purchased at the right price. And I think the keywords are "right price". He has previously rejected opportunities to join Zenit and a Qatar side last summer but there is a thought that he may still move on this summer. Inter went as far offering part ownership of others in exchange for part ownership of Bernard last summer, but again that was refused. However, AC Milan, Dortmund, Benfica, Spurs, Spartak Moscow, Terek Grozny and Shakhtar Donetsk have recently approached Atletico Mineiro and whilst a 12M euro offer from Terek was rejected, it looks like a deal could be still be done and perhaps AC Milan will put together a package including a player as part of the deal. Dortmund spoke with Atletico Mineiro about the player but have seemingly dropped their interest deciding the asking price was too high following a rejected bid. Shakhtar Donetsk have also stepped back considering the price to be too high. Whilst he is certainly attracting interest from several sides and a very good offer could tempt them to sell, I suspect Atletico Mineiro and Bernard would also not have a problem holding off on any move for, say, another year. Chelsea, Manchester City and Roma have been keeping a close eye on his progress, but all seem reluctant to make any move, certainly at the asking price. He was one of the South American players that Liverpool were scouting earlier in 2012, but that was pre-Rodgers and I am not aware of any solid interest from Liverpool at this time - and unless that changes, I doubt there is any chance of a move to Anfield. This leaves and Porto who are another club who would look to a deal possibly based on part ownership or a significant part of his fee being paid in the future. Whether Spurs pursue their interest remains to be seen.}

Hello EDS would like to know if Bernard would actually be a possible signing. Also LFC are doing a good job at having info leaked in the last couple weeks, any names to look out for? Excluding Llori {Ed002's Note - Atletico Mineiro's Bernard rejected opportunities to join Zenit and a Qatar side last summer but there is a lingering thought that he may still move on this summer. Inter went as far offering part ownership of others in exchange for part ownership of Bernard last summer, but again that was refused. Believable4 Unbelievable8

Id like us to sign him as he is like Coutinho, very skillful, pacey and good passing range, he mainly plays on the wing but can also play CAM, he would have no problem slotting in on the LW so Coutinho can play CAM.

Agree2 Disagree1

As an update Atletico Mineiro won their semi-final Copa Libatedores tie last night which means Bernard won't leave anytime soon. If they win the final he more than likely won't leave at all as he wants to play in the Club World Cup too.

Eds. Do you think Liverpool have a chance of signing mamafou sakho? We really need to be signing a good strong centre half, rodgers doesn't fancy skrtel and toure is only cover so we need a good strong player to partner agger! Thanks in advance. Stew {Ed002's Note - Sakho is on the list of targets for Monaco. Arsenal and Lyon have sustained interest in Sakho and there is some interest from Newcastle, Inter Milan, Manchester City and possible interest lingering interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona. Baader has explained that AC Milan and Liverpool have recently enquired about his availability but PSG are not keen on selling and the player is keen to stay. However, Laurent Blanc remains concerned about his attitude and would be willing to let him move on - that could be facilitated after the departure of Leonardo who had been lending him support. Would be an excellent buy if Agger or Skrtel were to move on, and not out of the question.}

Believable12 Unbelievable10

Hey ed, has any Russian club come in for skrtel? I thought zenit would have been interested
And I thought we were going to sign a good defender (hence links with papa among others like sahko), a young one if we move Coates on (illori) and also toure who I originally presumed was there for experience as his performances in the last year to me don't warrant a starting spot {Ed002's Note - Skrtel was certainly expected to leave but I am told that Csonto has told Zenit St Petersburg that his client will stay in Liverpool and it will be Agger that will leave. That seems a little surprising although it was clear that Agger wanted to hear what Monaco were putting on the table via his agent. Now it seems Barcelona may turn their attention to Agger if theirpreferred choice is not available. If Liverpool sell Agger or Skrtel then another centre back will be required. If not, then perhaps Ilori will be it. We will see.}
