I agree mate he would be a good squad player. But we have to many squad players. And the players that NESV are looking for are young, very good potentional, sell shirts and said should be value for money. For me Charlie Adam dosn't fit that criteria.

Just how old do you think Charlie Adam is? Guess
without googling it! {ed's note - I did think the same thing Morty, he is fairly young isn't he?}

Sky Sports News reporting that Malaga's attempt to get Agger has been held up by the change in management.

I hope that means that Kenny is currently trying to convince him to stay after Roy seemed like he would let him go. We can't lose Agger, he's our best defender by a long way!

-IamTheCosmos

I would accept losing him for 18 million +. Malaga have a oil sheik now so they would have to pay over the top. I say aggers true value is about 13 million. Sure a big lose but we could replace him for less then that and probably wouldn't be injury prone.

Good point, he's pretty immense for QPR this season, and i've heard some rumours about him possible coming.

I was reading about Suarez not wanting to come because he wants to bring his daughter up preferrably in London and because Tottenham are higher up in the table than we are.Well how does he know bringing her up in Liverpool will not be better if he has not lived here yet? I will want to see him when we get back up the table back where we belong, at least we have a big part in carving the history of football past and present.! ! !bel=yes unbel=no

Any chance of Fabio Coentrao coming ed? . what an awesome signing that would be! {ed's note - there is every chance, if we go for him.}

Last week I would have thought not but now Kenny is back I think our pulling power will be much greater.

Anyone else agree? {ed's note - it helps that the competition is not really looking for a left back right now too. City, United, Arsenal and Chelsea are all looking to strengthen other areas, the only real comp is likely to come from Italy.}

I don't understand what people have against Charlie Adam. Why wouldn't we want a player with a passing range like Xabi Alonso, a work rate like Mascherano & takes games by the scruff of the neck when the team is not performing just like Gerrard?

He'd be brilliant in the centre of Liverpool's midfield. I think he'd be the type of player Kenny would want in his squad too. .especially if he's going for 4-5million.

I don't have anything against charlie adam. . . just don't think he is good enough for liverpool. . I think it is important that we strengthen our squad and not just to add bodies. . I only want players coming in who the other top sides in the league look at and go "yes we would have liked him". I would not mind if no-one came in this window because kenny will get far more out of this squad than our previous manager and it means we are doing our homework on players.

RE: In Rafa we Trust. in his staff we do not. "Virtually everyone who has been employed under Benitez, has now finished at the club"

Liverpool have parted company with 6 scouts, including former chief scout Eduardo Macia. Spaniard Macia left the club by mutual consent last week.

New director of football strategy Damien Comolli has made the decision to terminate the contracts of five other scouts, most of whom were appointed under Rafa Benitez.

One of the scouts leaving is Jakob Friis-Hansen, the father of reserve keeper Martin Hansen. He told Danish press:

“Virtually everyone who has been employed under Benitez, has now finished at the club. This is also a couple of Spanish coaches. It is very natural that it happens when a new manager or sporting director to a club. We did never actually meet Comolli, but he has some other ideas, and it is basically fair enough. I've got a nice severance scheme and am free to start a new job.”

- Is this a message to rafa, sell up and move on, Spanish flavour gone sour.

There desperate for move because it's a dream for them. Fortunately he'll be given cold shoulder because I just can't see him doing it in Prem.

Eduardo Macia and four scouts have left Liverpool.

Macia had been acting as Liverpool's chief scout and remained at Anfield despite the departure of Rafa Benitez at the end of last season.

The Daily Mail says football director Damien Comolli is in charge of recruitment now that chief scout Macia has left.

Comolli will be backed to sign as many as four players.

Please post ed, found this on a website:
Fábio Coentrão a Liverpool Player Already?

Rumours have spread that the first signing of Dalglish's return to Anfield will be Portugese wing-back, Fábio Coentrão. But according to Wikipedia, the 22 year-old has already signed for Liverpool, and is playing with the number 39 on his shirt!
Now obviously Wikipedia is not a reliable site in which you can draw solid conclusions as to player transfers, as anyone could have changed his current club information. However, there may be some truth to the rumours that Fábio Coentrão will sign for Liverpool this January. Liverpool's left back position is currently occupied by Paul Konchesky. He isn't the most popular player at Liverpool at the moment, not least because of his poor form, and the consensus that the player isn't good enough for Liverpool, as well as the fact he was signed by Roy Hodgson.
Coentrão had a brilliant World Cup, being probably the best player in the Portugal side, providing an excellent source of width, pace and the provision of crosses - all things that Liverpool currently lack. Chelsea were reportedly interested immediately after the World Cup last summer, but a deal never materialised - they do have Ashley Cole after all. Manchester United were also said to have taken an interest in the Portugese, after there were questions over Patrice Evra's future, but it seems Evra's future is safe at United, and with the emergence of the da Silva twins, this signing would not be needed.
However, Liverpool need another left back, with Aurelio never really showing consistency, as well as being prone to injuries as well as Paul Konchesky looking as if he will be on his way out. A fee of around £16 million is being circulated for the current Benfica man. Quite a hefty sum for a left back, one that the Liverpool owners would have to dig deep for, but a signing, I would suggest, that would be worth the money.

MO MO MO HES MAGIC YOU KNOW YOU WILL NEVER GET PAST A SISSKO Mohammed Sissoko returns £4m

Would love to see this, perfect Masch replacement. A steely, tough tackling holding midfielder. Doubt £4m, double it will be closer I'd guess.

I'd also like to say that expect to see Ricky Van Wolfswinkel join after the Blackpool match. Arda Turan and Keisuke Honda potential deadline day signings.

Its no good waiting till the last minute to panic buy for a bargain we ought to be buying now with all the games up and coming. Av got a feeling we will not be buying anyone myself, reason been Comoli has been at the club for three months now and this so called list of talent that he has drawn up must be finished by now or what's the point in having him at the club?

his job is meant to be finding talent and signing it i doubt the owners would of hired and payed him for 3 months and not let him buy players in january. or they may as well of hired him in febuary, save his wages and get ready for the summer window.
he has done this job for a number of years with various clubs so he must have a good idea of the players he likes and wants to sign.
the only player that has moved in jan that stands out so far is dzeko and that is because he snapped citys hands off to get his hands on them wages. we just need to be patient because historicaly players move in the last week of this window, and roy and commolli have said if players are signed it will be near the end of the window. this wait is killing me as well so your not alone. i seriously doubt the new owners will not bring in at least 1 major signing tho. more than likely a forward

Hi Ed,

I have always wondered about B'ham's Sebastian Larsson. He seems a decent player with a deadly left foot. I read not long agao that he was to be out of contract this summer and that Newcastle had signed him for 1 million. What do you think of the player? Is he Liverpool material?

Nesv

1- bought the club for £288m
2- Damien Comolli - Director of football
3- Sacked Roy Hodgson
4- Appointed Kenny Dalglish
5- Appointed Steve Clark no2
6- lfc have 25 points. should be safe this season

the pieces are coming together. shouldnt be too dispointed by no transfers in janurary

I would rather see Dalgish sign up for 4 years + Steve Clark.

This is not an overnight fix. it could take 3 years to get back into C/ L. The management team seems to be getting stronger. That can only be a good thing.

I would rater have stability. And even if Kenny only manages to keep us in the premiership this year. He should still be in charge. The rebuilding job will take a long time.

Even if no one comes in. in this transfer window.

To the ed. If it is true about ngog going out on loan then surley we should be getting a few or a couple of strikers to replace him ( not that he does much). Do you know if it is true or not. Also do u think we have Honda already.

Alright Ed. . Ive been unable to get online since the weekend, I just wanted to know what your feelings were on the King Kenny Appointment? ? Im as you can well imagine over the moon like everyother Pool fan. . Any thoughts on the subject? any truth to the rumour that John Barnes is gonna put his boots back on to fill the gap in midfield? ?

{editor: John Barnes, I can't see it mate. Im delighted with the appointment.}

Ed, any transfers look likely this window? If so, who. ? Nothing looks likely with Dalglish, I'd imagine he'd be trying to get to know and the squad and find his feet before even thinking about players, which really is a shame. We all know we need a striker/ winger.
Lb and RB we're fine, Kelly is a very, very good rb and Aurelio fits the bill IMO.

Blair Mayne YNWA"

I'm afraid you're wrong. If he returned to Fulham that would not be considered a third club (why would it be?). The ruling is based on the amount of clubs the player has been registered at, and played officially for, during a season (Fulham would be one, Liverpool the other), not the amount of times the player moves between them. We could swap him back-and-forth as many times as we wanted but it would still only be two clubs he's been registered with during a season.

"I posted yesterday that FIFA will not let Konchesky register for 3 teams in a season. Some people tried to correct me and say that he can go back to Fulham. And this is the same situation we had when we bought Robbie Keane then sold him back to Spurs.

I'll try this again. Konchesky has already played for two teams (Fulham/ LFC). So he cannot go anywhere not even on loan or back to Fulham. As this would count as registering for a 3rd club.

Robbie Keane signed for us in the summer and actually played in some friendlie's for us. And then was sold back to Spurs in the January so only played for 2 clubs during that season.

In short Konchesky will not be allowed to go anywhere by FIFA.

Kenny will sign 4 players:
Santon, Coentrão, Van Wolfswinkel & Suárez.

Glen Johnson will be the only first team regular who will be sold while all other players leaving will be fringe players.

For the rest of the season we'll play a tight 4-3-3 with width provided by the full backs.

Reina
Santon - Carragher - Agger - Coentrão
Gerrard - Meireles - Lucas
Van Wolfswinkel - Torres - Suárez

11 Jan 2011 16:48:59
I don't expect anyone to leave during the window, but I do expect deals to be concluded, none before the Blackpool game, possibly 1 before the derby.

Joe Lewis - Handed in a transfer request at Peterborough. The guy's a talent, he's English, 23 and was tracked by Spurs last season. He's cheap, is a pretty good goalkeeper and was an England Under 21 international. Better than Brad Jones.
Arda Turan - We all know Kenny's an admirer and will no doubt put his name forward. He's a Liverpool fan and would jump at the chance to play for us. He'd give us that much needed width and gets goals.
Keisuke Honda - Can play up front, so if no strikers come available in the window he can occupy the spot next to Nando. He wants to come to the Prem, he would like to join Liverpool. Would be perfect in the hole and can even take up a place on the wings.

Then there are the possibles:
Luis Suarez - He'd love a move to the Prem and is available. Unfortuantely we're in a race with Spurs and it seems he favours a move there. However, that is "paper talk" so he could still join the Anfield elite.
Connor Wickham - We aren't going to get Lukaku, but this guy is just as good. He's tall, very strong and has great technique. He'd occupy the holding role really well in a few years time. However, the fee is quite extravagant for a teenager.
Ricky Van Wolfswinkel - Our editor appears to have concrete proof we've put a bid in for him, and I trust him 100%. He is likened to Marco Van Basten which can only be good, but he is a risk. We must remember Dirk Kuyt had hit something daft like 100 goals in 120 matches or something during his tenure in Holland, if only he could come close to that here.
Stephen Warnock - It's no secret we need help at left-back and Warnock classes as English, he's a Liverpool lad so classes as Liverpool lad in Europe and is available. He's a dman sight better than Konchesky.

as long as the 2 clubs agree the injury doesn't matter, the medical if failed is for lfc to say ok we don't want him hes injured, but if they really want him they will not worry bout his medical, aslong as hes not gunna be out till end of season lol {ed's note - the medical is mainly for insurance purposes.}

I'm guessing NESN is owned by NESV, does this mean any rumours/ stories/ reports they give might have more weight than other media sources? if so then they are reporting a move for lukaku and wickham.

NESN stands for NEW ENGLAND SPORTS NETWORK. used to have a channel on Sky that played mostly basketball games. Not linked to NESV at all

*NESN is owned by the Boston Red Sox who are owned by NESV, but their rumors are no more reliable than any other news outlet.

Yeah, they just post rumours and news circulating around the current press. I mean, their also reporting Juventus are about to offer £25m + Amauri for Torres.

juventus could be about to offer that no one knows anything cos no info is being leaked out of lfc, , nesn is owned by john henry, as he owns boston red sox, and boston red sox own nesn, but its all part of nesv, but john henry doesn't leak anything so im guessing they r just reporting rumours they get from ppl involved in football and other sources of media

These are all names I have read about in relation to LFC, but can you shine any light what so ever on any of these, are any likely to go through and are there any that have no chance at all? cheers {ed's note - Wolfswinkel, Marveaux, Gervinho, M'Vila, there is a definite interest. "{ed's note - we bought Aqualani injured, Downing joined Villa while injured, do you need more examples?}"

Ed, spot on mate, which makes me wonder why this was published about Hazard:

The Belgian youngster (Lukaku) isn't the only teen prospect on Liverpool's radar, however. In fact, he's not even the only Belgian. 19-year-old Eden Hazard was also a potential target, but his recent injury has prevented him from making a January move.

Is Hazard out long term? Because if he isn't, as you pointed out above, even if he is injured he could still move, with the new club realising he will fail his medical. Cheers! {ed's note - I doubt we will get Hazard, he seems to have his heart set on Arsenal.}

There is very little if any believable transfer stories you can take as truth . the club has become a more professional outfit since nesv have taken over. they don't discuss transfer targets ( unlike 'arry the media whore redknapp) . i think we will sign 2 players in the transfer window , defo a striker to take the goal scoring burden off torres and stevie g and a leftback or winger which makes me think we could go for coentrao but that's just a guess .

My cousin's best friend is Carlton Cole's agent. The word is that a deal was put in place at the start of this month when Roy was in charge to bring Carlton to Anfield for a total fee of £12.5 million + Spearing and Jovanovic going on loan to West Ham until the end of the season. With the return of KING KENNY, who knows whether this transfer will go through!

Kenny Dalglish received his official introduction as Liverpool manager during a news conference on Monday and revealed that he was "happy with the players here, " and thus may not be apt to spend in the transfer window.

Liverpool's transfer budget has reportedly not been affected by Roy Hodgson's £7.5 million pay-off, and the club continues to be linked to high-profile moves.

"We don't know if we will bring players in, " director of football strategy Damien Comolli, added, according to the Mirror. "We have been working but January is a difficult market."

With injuries and poor form abound in defense, the team has widely been expected to bring in backs to bolster the squad, and Benfica left back Fabio Coentrao and Stoke center back Ryan Shawcross remain at the top of the list.

Both have seen meteoric rises in their transfer value in light of recent form, currently in the £10 million and £8 million range for Coentrao and Shawcross respectively. Both, also, are young - just 22- and 23-years old, and are beginning to emerge as options for their national teams.

Coentrao was widely expected to make the move to Stamford Bridge, but his negotiations with Chelsea went awry last month after the deal was nearly done. He is considered one of the world's top prospects at left back and can play in a more forward position on the left side as well.

The tough-tackling Shawcross has emerged as one of the Premier League's top young defenders this season, leading the Potters to the top half of the table.

No official offers have yet been made for either player.

I've been reading the site 2day and seen the rumours about ricky van wolfwinkle I haven't seen much of him and from what I av seen of him I didn't think he was that good of a player what do u think ed? Do u think he'd adapt to the epl? Also I've been on youtube the past few days and I must say arda turan looks like a class act I can't think of a reason why we shouldn't he's young supports liverpool plays on the wing which has been a trouble position for us in recent years and has the ability to beat defenders and has a good final product.

Hey Ed from reading over the last few days it sounds like you have some pretty concrete info on a Ricky Van Wolfwinkel bid from somewhere. Im happy about it, clearly he knows where the goal is, he's young and no doubt hungry, he can come deep and he's technically good. In my opinion that's exactly what we need with Nando. Now 2 wingers, do you think John Barnes would still fancy a game ed? Heard a few rumblings about Pablo Hernadez recently, quick, direct and at a good age at 25, hope that comes to fruition too.

i agree that lukaku looks a better prespect tho. he looks like an adult playing in an under 11 team the guys massive. people were saying cos of his age he would struggle with the epl. i don't think this guy would struggle in the ring with mike tyson.

""Liverpool have dismissed suggestions that the compensation due to Roy Hodgson in the wake of his sacking could impact upon the club's transfer budget"
does this mean it won't impact it cos we have no transfer budget or is it because the owners are going to back us all the way."

what Ian Ayre said (think it was him, might have been Commoli) was that the money used to compensate Roy is completely separate and distinct to any money for transfers. Also, as there is almost definitely no strict "transfer budget", it wouldn't make any difference - NESV will buy any player they think is good value and will make a difference to the team

i think that's why we have made a load of enquirys so the clubs no we are intrested and i think comoli is waiting till the end of the transfer market gets close (well i hope so) what do you think ed?

Just wanted to say that Michael Owen should keep his mouth shut. I wouldn't let him within a mile of Anfield. He's only out for himself and would play for the devil if he thought it would help him. Pulling on a Manc shirt and slagging off the club who gave him a platform is unforgiveable.

actually it was NASN North American Sports Network that had a channel on Sky showing all the basketball and college football. But I do believe it's true that FSG do have some business interest in NESN, but I would be surprised if NESN could be viewed any more reliable than any other sports media outlet.

Regarding the proposed bid for Alavaro Negrado, don't Real Madrid have a buy back option for his first two years at Seville? With Benzema not performing, Negrado could be their striker for next year.

Maybe one of the ed's can help me here but I think Madrid had a buy back fee agreed with Almeria and took that option to sign him back end of 08/ 09 season for a buy back price of of something stupid like 3m despite him being the clubs top scorer the 2 seasons he was there. Think at the time a few clubs were sniffing around him but he went back to Madrid. Then Madrid went on to sell him about a month later to Sevilla for about 12-15m?? So doubt sevilla would have agreed a buy back price in the

Sandwich05 {ed's note - I am not 100% sure because some reports say there was a buy back clause, others reject the notion altogether. I wouldn't worry though, he was wanted by Roy, not Comolli. I doubt Kenny will have the same targets in mind myself.}

According to SKY and RTC (Radio Czech Sports Network) Liverpool have made a bid of around €8 million for Moleda Boleslav's striker, 22 year old Pavel Vlacek.
The usual guff about him being the next Rosicky or next Baros, but he has attracted the attention of many of Europe's leading clubs.
There is a quote from the agent - "Pavel is quite happy to be linked with some of the Europe's big clubs like Stuttgart, Dortmund, Napoli and Liverpool. We have not made a choice yet but wait to see who offers Pavel the best chance."
According to Wikipedia (whcih I don't trust) he scored 35 goals in just eight games in the Czech second division and was sent off four times!
The interesting thing is he is married (so young) with three kids and has been seen out with supermodel Helena Zakreesel from the Ukraine who was previously married to Maximillian Uboste. Checked with Google and Wikipedia and it seems this Uboste guy has links with the Chechen mafia!
There is a picture on Vlacek's own website of him posing with a pimped out Audi A4 in black and holding a bloody Mach 10 auto with silencer!
God! He'll fit in well on a night out in Calderstones Park!

Liverpool No Thanks I Want Spurs says Suarez
Posted on January 11, 2011 at 6:21 AM
Luis Suarez's protracted transfer to either Liverpool or Tottenham has taken a fresh twist after it emerged the striker would favour a move to London.
Both clubs are reportedly locked in a battle for the Uruguay star with Ajax initially said to be holding out for around €20 million for his signature.
However, the Dutch giants now appear to be after closer to €23 million for their prized asset and both Liverpool and Spurs seem prepared to stump up the cash.
“Ajax have received approaches from both clubs, although nothing is imminent, ” a source told Goal.com UK. “Suarez would prefer Tottenham at the moment because he is a family-orientated man with a very young child and he likes the idea of living in London.”

would this put pay to suarez then?? ? {ed's note - it is in goal.com, which means it is made up nonsense as they have no sources other than their own heads. Though I don't think Suarez is going to be joining Liverpool, as I have said repeatedly, but this story is pure fantasy.}

Everyone knows that January transfer window is difficult to buy quality players as its mid season and clubs don't want to lose thier bes players. If for whatever reason a club is prepared to sell its best player they will wait and wait as the closer you get to transfer deadline day the more desperate the buying clubs get and of course this results in player prices going up. .
On the other hand if a club is in need of money and has to sell well then buying clubs will wait until the club drops the asking price the closer to transfer deadline day. .
Either way it means that not a lot happens the 1st couple of weeks of the january window. Lets just be a little patient and trust in the Manager and the guys around him. Im sure they are compliling a list and looking at who is available etc. . In Kenny we trust

Re suarez rumours:

Apart from LFC and spurs rumours as over past couple months.

Oosterver Arnold (soccer vision BV) agent: same guy that let drip the huntellar rumours as he has the same agent as Suarez>

Ajax forward and Uruguay international Luis Suarez (23) told Spanish magazine Don Balon on 18/ 12/ 2010 : "I am aware of the recent rumours claiming that Barcelona and Real Madrid might be interested in me. I am flattered by that and I really like La Liga, but nobody contacted me yet". These "rumours" came from his agent:

Suarez joined Ajax from FC Groningen in 2007 for £6.2m but his relationship with the club hierarchy has deteriorated since the sacking of former Spurs manager Martin Jol, especially after they failed to appeal against his seven-match ban incurred by the Dutch Football Federation in late November for biting PSV Eindhoven midfielder Otman Bakkal.

Although he is contracted till JUne 2013 all the "rumours" indicate that the agent is trying to to work a route from Ajax, although Suarez states he intende to see his contract out?

Liverpool's new management and owner have asserted that a youth-based approach must be taken to get the club back on track.

Action may be about to reflect these words, as Liverpool is reportedly readying a £20 million bid for one of the world's most sought-after teenagers, Anderlecht's Romelu Lukaku

The 6-foot-3 17-year-old has already been hailed "the new Drogba, " and has been a full Belgian international since he was 16.

Lukaku, who has scored 19 times in 45 all appearances in 2009-10, is off to a slightly better pace in 2010-11, having netted 14 times in 31 appearances.

Just about every major club - Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Internazionale to name a few - has been linked to the phenom.

Liverpool, though, appear to be doing their best to land Lukaku, with Damien Commoli having contacted the club and with the £20 million reportedly impending.

The Belgian youngster isn't the only teen prospect on Liverpool's radar, however. In fact, he's not even the only Belgian. 19-year-old Eden Hazard was also a potential target, but his recent injury has prevented him from making a January move.

Commoli also reportedly sent scouts to watch Ipswich Town striker Connor Wickham

Liverpool and Tottenham are locked in a battle for Luis Suarez after both clubs approached Ajax over a January move,

The Uruguayan star is believed to favour a move to Spurs but Liverpool could yet trump their Premier League rivals as Ajax want around €23 million for the striker now they have sparked a bidding war.

They had initially made Suarez available for €20m (£16.8m) but due to cash problems are determined to get the best possible deal.

the Dutch club have indicated they are ready to cash in on their prize asset in the January transfer window despite the player claiming over the weekend that he would be staying in Amsterdam.

Suarez is leaning towards Tottenham due to their more competitive league position and for personal reasons, as he would prefer to bring up his young daughter in London.

Spurs manager Harry Redknapp has identified the World Cup star as his number No.1 striker target after dropping his interest in Andy Carroll and chairman Daniel Levy is due to step up talks this week.

But Liverpool have also been tracking the 23-year-old for a number of months and director of football strategy Damien Comolli has also registered his interest with Ajax as he prepares to take on his former club for one of the hottest properties in Europe.

"Ajax have received approaches from both clubs, although nothing is imminent, "Suarez would prefer Tottenham at the moment because he is a family-orientated man with a very young child and he likes the idea of living in London."

Liverpool are confident they can pip Spurs to Suarez due to the history of the club and they feel they can offer a more lucrative wage package. New manager Kenny Dalglish is believed to support a move for the player, who has scored 110 goals in 154 games for the Dutch giants and netted a stunning 49 times last season.

Liverpool's owners, Fenway Sports Group, may also be more inclined to meet Ajax's asking price as they look to make another statement of intent following the dismissal of Roy Hodgson and his replacement with Kop legend Dalglish.

The Reds are desperate to add a quality striker to the squad as both a partner and an alternative to Fernando Torres, who has been out of sorts all season. They believe Suarez, who can play either as an out-and-out striker or as a creative second forward, fits the bill.

Ed who idea is the wolfswinkle coz i think its another bit of dutch poooooooo were taking a chance on we need a proven striker in a big league and a left winger till end of season at least id go for mata or turan or both mata can play striker and is good then in the summer move him on the left put turan right as he right footed and buy a big named striker and a left back what u think on that idea

{editor: 2 wingers and a striker is all we need.}

To ed or others, why is gerrard suspended? i thought that the red card for the cup game would only apply to following cup games and not league games

{editor: I think it is because both the Premier League and the FA Cup are run by the FA so it carries over the next 3 games.}

Hi mate.
So kenny is back. .and we will start our way from Blackpool. .I can smell kenny will atack the opposition from the word go. .
Alavaro negrado is being linked to liverpool. and i simply would be very happy to see him playing alonside torres. he is a superb striker. .two season ago. he had a desire to move to pool and play with torres. .with gerrard behind these two. we can score plenty of goals. .

since Kenny is back. i can see turan too coming oyr way. he is simply the best. i hust love him to be on a red shirt. if we do get these two signings. the whole team looks different. with meireles, gerrard, torres, negrado, turan, cole, babbel, kuyt. we will be so strong.

Ed whats ur opinion on this? ?

{editor: Nagredo looks OK and I would love Turan.}

Alvaro negredo is far better than this wolfy guy of utrectht. i like to see him @ liverpool. he is physically strong & has pace & strikes powerfully. a skillfull young lad, , am sure will do better than Ngog.

Ed whats the latest news on suarez, santon, adebayor, honda or banega and mata? if we could sign even 2 of these in this window would strengthen the sqaud massivly. with a couple more signings in the summer and the king at the helm the friture could look very good!

YNWA

P.S if howard webb is the contries best ref i would love to see the worst!

{editor: Saurez, only rumours, not sure how far that will go. Santon, there has been interest from us and Chelsea. Adebayor, same as suarez. Honda, rumours have died down, this could be due to the player currently on International duty. Banega, I dont think we are interested. Mata I am not sure.}

{Editor's Note: Cavani is only on loan at Napoli.}

at first palermo decided to loan him out. but actually napoli bought him for 16.5 million in the summer , napoli president Aurelio de Laurentis is a bing fan of him.
but in the press the deal is rumoured to be only a loan deal. whcih isn't true obviously. .

I cannot believe we have made a bid for Ricky Van Wolfswinkel. It's no secret that I do noy rate him and have said plenty of times on here. If we do sign him I will get behind him and hope he makes me eat my words. Theres no doubt he has talent but I'm sceptical about whether he will cut it in the Premier League.

yeah that is true ed i mean the second string from that would be:433
jones
kelly
ayala
wilson
mavinga
lucas
meireles
suso
pacheco
ngog
turan

with carragher and shelvey available aswell.think that squad would be a great mix of youth, experience, less wages and a quality bench.maybe play the second string in f.a cup carling cup etc.plus nesv would be delighted not to spend much plus make money through honda turan mata hulk shirt sales here and back in their countries.think we could get all of them.anyone else take your fancy ed to add to that squad?DORSET RED

I am going to make a call based on the very little I've seen of Ricky van Wolfswinkel. I think we should pass on this guy. He didn't do much in the games against us, has a goal scoring record which is not that impressive (in two pro-seasons) and he doesn't even look that good on youtube. Beware of the Dutch league. I'm not being sarcastic, but David N'gog would be a god in Holland (and I do like N'gog). We need help right now. If we buy Ricky van Wolfswinkel, we will not be better off than we are right now. We need a mature player who will be a good bet to bag about 15-20 goals a season with or without Torres. Suarez (I think he's a dick, but I'd prefer him), Llorente, Valdez (like him), Hulk (worth a punt) and even Barrios are better bets. Lukaku and van Wolfswinkel are too young (and too expensive in Romelo's case) to help us out. What do you think ed?

Canadian Fan.

{Editor Note: I wouldn't call Wolfswinkel too young as such. But I can't see why you'd want Valdez - his record is extremly poor in the Bundesliga.}

So in much talk with eds hopefully we look like this next season 2011/ 2012

manager dalglish/ villa boas/ coyle/ laudrup

new signings over this jan and summer
honda 9m jan
turan 8m plus insua jan
banega 12m
juan mata 18m
hulk 20m
taiwo free
total:67m before sales
out:
jovanovic 29 3-5m
poulsen 30 2-3m
konchesky 29 2-3m
kuyt 30 6-8m
krygiakos 30 3-5m
maxi 29 3-5m
cole 28 7-10m
babel 23 7-10m
el zhar 23 2-3m
degen 27 2-3m
aurelio 30 2-3m
aquilani 26 13m(we paid installments so won't count)
spearing 21 1-2m
darby 21 1-2m
insua p/ ex
total outs 15 players gives us between 41m-62m.take that away from 67m spent on 6 world class players leaves nesv spending between 5-26m so they don't have to have vast somes of money.

team 442
- - - - - - -reina- - -
kelly- - skrtel- - agger- - taiwo
turan-gerrard-honda- -mata
- - - -hulk- - -
- - torres- -
bench:suso, pacheco, meireles, lucas, ngog, carragher, ayala, wilson, jones, johnson, mavinga, shelvey

team 433
- - - - reina- - -
johnson-skrtel-agger-taiwo
- gerrard-banega-honda
-hulk- torres- - mata
bench:turan, suso, pacheco, kelly, meireles, lucas, ngog, carragher, ayala, wilson, jones, mavinga, shelvey

that would make an awesome team and at a cost of between 5-21m after selling 15 of the current crop.so we don't need to spend big to get back to the being the best in europe.also if nesv give the manager 30m a season just to tinker or incase of injuries.squad will be trimmed less wage budget most of squad under 25.what do people think eds your thoughts?DORSET RED

Nicolas loderio - once linked with liverpool but ajax swooped in before us , great potential and may well be part of a liverpool double raid with the 2 young uraguay stars suarez and loderio heading to anfield with jovanovic and 17m heading ajax's way

Alex smithies (gk) - from huddesfield is another name that fits are targets as he is young has potential and is english would be available for about 1m

Martin olsson (lb) blackburn playing well this season hes young quick and has potential anther player who could be an important part in the rebuilding process and our future simular player to ashley cole we need to move fast on players like this

Benega had a falling out with the manager. I would sign him. I want just Mata. He's going to become the next big winger. Stats prove this, 14 goals this season, second highest assists last season (impressive when competing with messi, ronaldo, kaka co and he's still only 21. I know he's agreed to sign a new contract but he hasn't signed it yet, we should go for him now before it's too late (again). Play Mata on the left in a 433 and we look a whole new side. {Editor Note: My team would be the same team that we seen at Old Trafford, except with J.Cole playing behind Torres now that SG is suspended. If J.Cole isn't fit, I'd move Kuyt into that area and play Babel. And I think we looked better at OT so I'm more confident than I would have been with Hodgson in charge. And my XI realistically would be: Reina, Kelly, Skrtel, Agger, Taiwo, Banega, Meireles, Gerrard, Mata, Turan, Torres in a 4-3-3. Maybe some wouldn't consider that realistic, but we could get Taiwo for nothing, Turan for no more than £12m, Mata and Banega for no more than £30m. Maybe wishful thinking though.}

Ed, just a quick point regarding Hazard in a recent interview he mentioned that he wanted to move to a top club. He said that he would love to play for Real or Barca or Arsenal. He then went on to say that he couldn't see himself sitting on the bench at his new club. If we could go in and offer a first team role and decent wages I'd reckon we'd have as good a shout as anyone. Maybe just wishful thinking on my part, but worth a look.

Quigz23

{Editor Note: He'd sit on the bench at Real Madrid or Barcelona. But I think he's attracted to Arsenal because of how Wenger plays youngsters and develops talent. He's sited out the likes of Nasri as examples of that. Obviously, we would have a chance of getting him if we went in for him.}

Liverpool have been given the green light to make a £17m offer for Sevilla striker Alvaro Negredo.Reports in Spain suggest that Sevilla would not block a sizeable bid for their star forward and would consider a £17m offer.

Negredo is refusing to be affected by all the speculation surrounding his long-term future but is aware of the interest from Liverpool.

Negredo said: "I read something, but my representative has said there is nothing happening at the moment. I am comfortable with the situation and will just focus on playing for Sevilla."souce talksport

IS THIS FOR REAL??

Liverpool have made an enquiry to Manchester City for Emmanuel Adebayor, skysports.com understands

Ed>>> you heard anything about this? {ed's note - nothing mate.}

=======================================

Heard rumour. Think it would be good if on loan or cheap. Think he might complement Torres and he's better than Carlton Cole. He'd still be at Arsenal if it wasn't for citys money. This would obviously be his last chance to prove himself at big club. Might make him more hungry for success?

Thoughts?

Benzema has endured a tough first season at Real

Manchester United's determination to regain the Premier League title will not draw them into paying the top-end wages commanded by some players at Manchester City and Chelsea, despite the Glazer family's indications to Sir Alex Ferguson that there is money to spend this summer.

The Independent understands that United matched Lyons' £35m asking price for Karim Benzema last summer but only walked away from the deal when the player's wage demands soared to near £200,000 a week. Though City were prepared to pay John Terry more than £200,000 a week to move to Eastlands last summer, United will apply the same strictures on salaries as they set about winning back the title.

United have been linked with a fresh move for Benzema, who moved to Real for £35m – the same price United were offering 12 months ago. But the player will seemingly need to accept a substantial reduction in pay, and any desire United may have for a more potent strike partner for Wayne Rooney will be tempered by a determination not to shatter the current pay structure. Wayne Rooney is likely to become United's highest paid player by signing a possible £150,000-a-week deal after the World Cup.

I don't think we'll be getting Benzema and do we really want a player whose wage demands are ridiculous and the baggage he brings with his underage sex scandal.
Luis Suarez would not be my choice but he would play for the badge and not just money.

However my source tells me Van Wolfswinkle is a more likley option, which could happen in the next 48 hours.

What are your thoughts Editor?

NITETYPER {ed's note - Van Wolfswinkel it is common knowledge that Liverpool and Napoli have bid, the player would prefer Italy but the bid was lower. So we would have to convince him to join us. Benzema is going nowhere - Higuain is out long term.}

{Editor Note: There's another Valencia player who plays on the opposite side that I want - but Hernanez is a very good player.}

Ed>>>>>>How many guesses do we get, lol {ed's note - 3 should be enough!}
