Suarez is convinced Liverpool can achieve something special this season, according to his Uruguayan compatriot Edinson Cavani.

Cavani claims Suarez is "loving life" in England and is happy at Liverpool because they have become the contenders he wanted them to be, according to the Express.

The PSG striker, who has reportedly been a target for many Premier League clubs, said all Suarez wants is to challenge for trophies.

"All he wanted was to be at a team which matched his ambition, where he could play Champions League Football, and where he can compete for major trophies, " Cavani explained.

"Now Liverpool are in that place he is happy to stay."

Suarez was the subject of a controversial £40,000, 001 bid from Arsenal last summer after the current Premier League top scorer hinted at a move, but Cavani is convinced that is all behind him.

"I speak with Luis most weeks - and he is loving life at Liverpool, " he said.

"When I speak with him now it sounds like a different man to that of last season. You can hear it in his voice how happy he is compared to last season."

And that could be a reason for the striker being at the top of his form this season. Suarez has scored 23 goals in the Premier League this season, along with setting up a further eight.

But Cavani insists the love has always been there adding how Suarez was particularly humbled "by the way the club and the fans stood by him" throughout the controversies he has had since playing in England.

And Liverpool will be hoping their star player's love for the club will stay strong in the summer, as if he keeps up his current form, there may well be another lucrative offer on the table.
