Sherwood claims Illori loan is with option to buy. Does Liverpool have the power to keep him next season?
{Ed001's Note - he is correct, it is with a loan with an option to buy. Ilori can turn down the chance to sign and we can also decide not to sell him to them. It is just setting the price if they decide to make the loan permanent.}

That makes sense, thanks for that Ed01.
My fear (probably shared by a lot of others!) is that the decision is taken out of the club's hands with an option to buy.
Good to know that it is just setting the price and the player (of course) and the selling club (importantly) can still say no.
I hope and suspect that Ilori will have a good loan with a chance to get used to the pace and physicality of the EPL such that either BR or new guy can integrate into the plans as a Skrtel replacement going forward.

we don't have the power to keep anyone anymore, Sterling is a prime example

I disagree, Benzo.
We kept Suarez for an extra year when he wanted to go.

To be fair kolo must go next season, and even though Gomez there, he might still have a slight chance

Ilori would never come back. People need to move on.

And if Rodgers were to move on E.G.?

Don't even bother, Andy. EG likes to set himself up as an authority on these matters! The truth couldn't be further!

Being as only one of over 100 loans out over the last 5 years has returned and made it to the first team (Ibe), it's fairly apparent that a loan out at Anfield is the kiss of death for you.
The odds on Ilori coming back and making it to the first team are demonstrably 100/1 against.
