Are Liverpool trying to sign / still hold interest in Bruno Fernandes?

Some sites are saying he is close to signing for United, and others say Liverpool FC are close to the signing.

Spurs are interested, especially if Eriksen leaves. They also have interest in Lo Celso. I don’t know if they want both. This has been on this site.
Any other information I’ve read is conflicting, I agree. No two sources are saying the same thing.
Type ‘Chiesa’ into the search bar to see Ed002’s comments on him.

We hold interest as Ed has stated previously but we don’t know anything more.

We are keen to bring someone into that role.

Markp08, yes interested but no approach to his club. Manchester bound very likely if not about done already.

I can't see why United would be an appealing option for him other than money reasons. Attacking based midfielders, kagawa, depay, mhychatarian, di Maria, Sanchez, pogba, mata have seen their careers damaged or slowed down lately, United are currently a fresh rebuild which doesn't even seem ready to start yet, with a manager who already seems out of his depth with no champions league football. If he would choose United in this current moment over other teams it would show him as a player and person I wouldn't want anyway. He seems like a hard working commited player on the field but maybe his career ambition doesn't reflect that. I'd be amazed if any top player chose United and ole over spurs and Liverpool, poch and klopp for any sort of footballing reasons. Of course I'm presuming United aren't his only option.

I get what your saying Har and I agree mate. However it seems he is swaying towards the Red half of Manchester. It will be financial reasons.

Is there genuine truth to that virgil? Shocking decision the lad has made if the case. Makes no sense, a team very far away from playing a style to suit him unless ole drastically brings a complete different approach. He'd suit Liverpool city spurs or Chelsea far more.

Tbh Har_red92 I’m not a so called ITK mate lol by any stretch. Just from what I can gather from here and the Itd pages and talking to others it certainly seems to be that he is heading to Utd. The very fact we’ve not even spoke to his club whilst others have says a lot. Also the cost of the guy up in the 70-80M area with us not looking to spend that amount. Will see I guess but my money would be on Utd.

Yeah I always thought a 50 mil offer or roughly that ball park is what sporting would actually accept. They're not financially great and he's their only major money asset. Unless multiple teams are offering at once I couldn't see 80mil being the lowest Lisbon would accept. I get that we probably aren't fussed with that kind of fee I was just hopeful we might splurge the kind of money that was nearly spent on fekir last year. I think he'd fit us nicely, probably the best no.10 available this summer and a club with little financial strength to refuse decent bids.

Agree entirely mate. I think he is the best option available and Klopp would work wonders inter grating him into the team, but doesn’t look likely. We also have Kieta and Ox who will need game time.

Yeah I agree bud, for that type of money you would want to be expecting a weakness being vastly improved instead of hoping to just add to an already strong midfield. Many people still think a 10 is needed but I'm not so sure. Klopp looked to try and implement 4231 last year, I feel that was why a fekir type was wanted. I feel he's learned 433 suits us much better and a midfielder might actually be of zero importance anymore.

Like he fabinho signing out of knowere, i would not be surprised that i wake up to see him signed for us, if klopp wants him. If he doesn't then I respect Klopp's plans as he knows far more about football than any of us.

{Ed025's Note - speak for yourself jammin.. :)

10 Jun 2019 22:02:38
Ed025, edit: a manager at the highest level knows a hell of a lot more than me. But would also question anyone that thinks they know more about football than one of the best managers of our time.

{Ed025's Note - its subjective jammin, and tongue in cheek at times mate..

I love a deal out of nowhere. I remember kewell at the time hitting my complete surprise when I first heard. So excited for that deal, what a let down haha. And Andy Carroll out of nowhere too. Another terrible let down. Raul meireles too happened fast with no previous links.

Virg if he is our top target for AM we better get a move on.

10 Jun 2019 23:49:38
We don't have any big areas of weakness anymore Har. So now we need to try and turn good or very good players to great. I still think the midfield could do with one really top addition.

Yes Man Utd have been playing crap football recently but I don't think we can say that Fernandes going there would be for the money. Its possible that he is buying into the plan that Ole has (if Woodward allows him to have one) . Im going to wait and see what sort of footy they try to play next year.

Agree2 Disagree0

11 Jun 2019 01:51:37
Possibly. I just think at this moment in time if he had options of where to move, United are the furthest behind in football attraction. No champions league and a group of players that need overhaul aplenty.

Agree1 Disagree1

11 Jun 2019 02:48:32
Yeah mark but I think if we were to bring in a high quality midfielder, only one of OX, keita, gini, Milner, henderson could play the 8 role if fabinho in the 6. Asides from Milner, as we need his versatility. I could not choose between 1 of those to move on, we have no reason to replace any, and we can't keep them all, OX and keita offered no contribution last year. It's essentially like we have already gained 2 new players with fresh starts.

Ed025 you clearly are not on here enough for people to get that scouse sense of humour mate. What are you doing with your time? Actually don't answer that, there are some things in life you just don't want to know.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - people tend to get too serious at times burkey, life is too short for seriousness all the time so im here to lighten the mood mate, hell im an evertonian for gods sake and spend most of my time crying so i come on here for respite and a way to vent my frustration, most people get me and some dont and they are the ones that make it all worthwhile.. :)

10 Jun 2019 23:21:51
I only saw your smile emoji after i replied ed025 . I'm a bit emoji unaware. Old age.

{Ed025's Note - no problem jammin mate, im old as well but still very attractive to women so it does,nt bother me so much.. :)

Haha, I love Ed025's sharp snarky wit, it warms my cockles on those cold footballess nights. If ya ever need a hug or a shoulder to cry on (like when Richarlison leaves next month) I'm here for ya mate.

{Ed025's Note - thats nice to know JM,...although i would prefer it to be carol kirkwood of course mate.. :)

Jaysus Ed025, that's a bit harsh. You just ain't seen me in hot-pants yet.

{Ed025's Note - even just reading that puts me in a cold sweat JM.. :)

Markp08 I meant he is possibly our best option mate but not our top target I don’t think. Like I say I think he is Utd bound mate unfortunately.

Whether we sign any or all of Pepe, Cornet or Mazraoui, I'm guessing it won't be until after the Africa Cup of Nations. Of course there'll be machinations and agreements going on in the background, but (unless an urgent need arises) taking a player from his national team to go sign and do as medical etc. would be an unwanted distraction. So whatever deals are done probably won't be finalized until after the tournament. So let's just try to relax and enjoy watching our current and future Anfield Africa superstars and give the Eds a break from the same questions for a few weeks.

(PS: So strange Fabinho wasn't picked for Brazil's Copa America squad, especially considering his versatility. I guess Tite likes a specialist, but come on, Fágner? He wasn't even good enough for Wolfsburg)

I think it is good news for us that he isn't picked. Be great to get a full season out of Fabinho next year.
