Looks like the press are reusing stories from 3 years ago in saying we are going after Angel Correa again.

Apparently we offered him £50k p/ w but he wants £75k p/ w
And Athletico are willing to sell him for £25mil. (why the quote is £ and not € just makes it even less convincing)

So we have apparently already gave him an offer but haven't put in a bid yet? If this is true then "Here we go again - tap tap tap"

But I can't see it being true, specially since Athletico have a ban and I doubt will let anybody go.

Heard anything about this Eds? Or just usual media recirculation?
Thanks.

Lol how many forwards do we play per game and how many do we have on our books? Surely, with the arrival of Solanke, we won't be looking at bringing in another one?

11 Jul 2017 09:24:17
Could be someone to look into if Sturridge gets sold.
He would fit the team quiet well imo. Quick, good technique and still young.

It is very unlikely to happen but as a alternative to Captain injury a good choice.

11 Jul 2017 11:10:33
I used to really rate him as a youth academy product and thought he would go on to push for a starting place this season with Gameiro and Torres inconsistent to say the least but his progression has stagnated quite significantly in my opinion and think he'd be a poor signing at this point in time.

Solanke has been officially confirmed and will wear the #29 shirt.

Believable16 Unbelievable1

10 Jul 2017 19:59:35
Can see Solanke competing with Ings and Origi for the cup games this season. Firminho most likely to start as Klopp no 1 striker with Sturridge as no2 if he can stay fit.

The tweet said
"Chelsea rejected him, United are hesitating, he's calling everyone, he contacted Liverpool himself. "

Probably some trip photoshopped it to make everybody go (more) stupid.

We still don't have an out and out goal scorer. Firmino is great no 10 but not a 25+ man. He's highly involved in making goals and is a class act. Still think that to win the league you need someone prolific. Has anyone ever won prem without a 20+ guy? Origi has the potential to be that man and he seems the sort of player could go up a level or two pretty quickly. When you have 5 players on double figures it's not such a problem. I don't know who the answer is.

Agree3 Disagree3

11 Jul 2017 13:47:58
I don't see why we need strikers or forward players. Its not as though we struggle for goals really.

Agree1 Disagree0

11 Jul 2017 19:24:20
Total goals no but goals in some specific games and scoring regularly are issues. Question is are those not creating or not taking chances. Do remember early season against Watford (? ) Firminho missed a bucket load. With 2 wide men and Coutinho in the middle may offer more variety to break down teams but ultimately only one LFC striker is a 20 a season player and he is an injury risk.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jul 2017 19:26:19
I agree Nevada, we have goals coming from all over midfield and now with Salah, Even more.
We were 2 goals short of city, 7 goals short of Chelsea and only 8 short of Tottenham (I say "only" because Kane scored 29 goals with 5 being from penalties) which is more than double what our highest scorers got with 0 penalties too)

If we had an out an out striker, the midfielders probably won’t score as much as they will be giving all the assists, Firmino likes to assist goals too.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jul 2017 23:44:29
I know red Phil. I did say that we have 5/ 6 players on double figures. I know what you're saying, we were league top scorers for ages. Last time we challenged for title (and should have won) we had suarez. If you look back, no one has won prem without a 20+ guy
Fresht was bang on, we do have that guy but hd is so injury prone and doesn't want to push himself too far. DS should be a premier league legend but his situation is starting to look like Jamie redknapps bless him. I'd like to see us with a real bruiser to look after him.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jul 2017 06:17:29
True superred I get what you mean and to be honest I would still love another Suarez type of forward, but as things stand it can be the last thing we need to worry about.

Suarez was also made x10 better with the partnership of Sturridge. They where just the perfect telepathic partnership.
Who knows, Firmino might now be able to score a lot more this season with Mane and Salah by his side and Couts where he should be - behind.

And the +20 goals to win the league isn’t always fair,
Costa just about got 20 and Chelsea won the league, (and he will be leaving unless the recent media rubbish is somehow true)

Kane got 29 and Spurs couldn't win the league (which actually surprises me still to this day, because of how solid they where defensively! *head spin again*)

But I think the addition of Salah will bring a lot more goals to the side without drastically reducing goals scored from anywhere else.

But it’s all guess work, we don’t know how Salah will do and if our defense doesn't get sorted it won’t matter as we won’t be winning the league still.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jul 2017 06:22:42
Sorry forgot to add;
It is a damn shame about Sturridge's injury's because y'all are right he could easily be our 20+ goal scorer and would be one of the best strikers in the prem. They need to give him a bionic hip and he needs to try and control his shot power/ speed, he has too much power/ speed for his muscles to be able to stretch quickly enough xD.

Hi Lads,

Heard a lot of talk about Marco Asensio over the past couple of days from different sources including the LFC site.

If there is any truth about this then we can look forward to it as he is a very very good promising talent and i believe he will be one of the best in the world at CAM / CM in the next 5 years

ED please tell me youve heard something?

I'm not for stupid rumours so this is true.

I live in Hull, just been shopping at Tescos In st Stephens (shopping center) . I was walking out and heard some randomer say 'will you be signing for Liverpool mate? ' I looked and who was there? Robertson. All he said was 'we'll have to wait and see but I'd like to think so' then the random fella joked and said 'so you going in sports direct to get your Liverpool shirt then' he laughed n just continued to go to the car park.

I didn't speak to him, wish I did now but was in a rush.

And two he buying shirt from sports direct instead of the club shop and putting the money back into lfc. disgusting attitude.

I know this rumour isn't news but I know we are definitely looking at Robertson. I go up to Glasgow a fair bit with work and know from a member of his fiancee's family that we're interested (she's Glaswegian)
They reckon he's a great player (guess they would say that) and would be an upgrade on what we currently have at left back. I've not seen him play so couldn't agree or disagree 🤷🏻‍♂️.

Let's get it done. What a luxury. Now we have two sides to attack from. We are going to be deadly.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jul 2017 09:31:25
I've always said if you are going to sign players they have to be an upgrade on what you already have. Robertson is a decent player but after reading an article from a Hull reporter and fan who said he didn't really feel he was an upgrade on Moreno. This is not a dig at the lad but we have a history of this. No dig at Mignolet but was he an upgrade on Reina? There are other cases. I don't care about marquee signings or big fees, just making sure that we improve in the position we would like to upgrade.

Believable8 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool are actively trying to sell Moreno but are struggling to find a buyer at the asking price. They turned down an offer that Napoli thought was reasonable recently. Unfortunately they cannot go back as Napoli moved on and have agreed the fee for the transfer of an alternative. I imagine his agent is working hard looking for a solution.}

10 Jul 2017 09:48:43
I thought the Napoli offer was quite sensible, but dismissing it like we did was just baffling.

Agree14 Disagree4

10 Jul 2017 09:52:15
I like the look of Robertson if i'm honest. He's energetic and keen, technically gifted and is still young enough to improve dramatically.

If he can really focus on his defensive work then we might have a really good player on our hands.

I would have liked to go for Aaron Cresswell as I think he is about the same level as Robertson but having a senior local lad back in the team is always a bonus in my eyes. But as Eds have said we don't seem to be looking at him.

Robertson is a definite improvement on Moreno in my opinion. And if he doesn't kick on and improve then he won't be a very costly mistake, in the way that paying £40mill for Mendy could be if he didn't settle.

Good luck to the lad if we do sign him!

Agree14 Disagree5

10 Jul 2017 10:12:24
Real shame that Sessegnon seems out of reach. Scored 2 last night for England u-19 playing left wing. That lad is going to be the next Gareth Bale. He looked streets ahead and was 2 years younger than those around him.

Agree10 Disagree2

10 Jul 2017 12:20:37
Robertson is an improvement on Milner at left back, Moreno wasn't a regular. Frees up Milner to play elsewhere and cover a number of other roles.

Agree4 Disagree2

10 Jul 2017 12:47:30
Robertson is an improvement on Moreno, is he an improvement on Milner? Well I'm not sure about that because Milner was one of the most consistent left backs last year. Robertson, to be fair to him, has improved year on year, he's shown willingness to work on his game.

Agree4 Disagree3

10 Jul 2017 13:08:59
It'll almost be a luxury to play with balance next season! We were sooooo good last year I got completely carried away by October. Can't wait to see us with two super fast wingers and two capable full backs. Both left footed and right.

Agree2 Disagree0

10 Jul 2017 16:37:34
I would 100% back Robertson if he signed and have been proven wrong before with underwhelming signings like Steve Finnan but what value for money that turned out to be.

Agree3 Disagree1

10 Jul 2017 22:57:10
You lot are mad. He's bang average playing for an awful football team and that's being kind.

Agree0 Disagree2

11 Jul 2017 00:36:56
So what was the famous Napoli offer for Moreno? 11 mil, right? Was that all up front or was it 1 mil now, 5 mil if they win the league and another 5 if they male CL top 8? Makes a difference when judging LFCs stance on it. Does anyone actually know?

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jul 2017 13:50:11
Mingnolet was not any where near as good as riena. Robertson is much better than moreno at defending. Not got the pace of moreno but a much safer player. Moreno attacks aimlessly while Robertson attacks with purpose and doesn't forget his defensive duties. He is hard as nails too. Will prove to be a solid little player and possibly become one of best lbs in the league.

If this lad can't get a chance with the first team, then who can? What kind of message are we sending to other young lads / potential additions to youth team? I don't remember a youngster who was given a proper chance to become a team regular since Spearing.
