Not sure how much it matters but Frimpong qualifies as home grown due to his time at City.

Doing a quick google search, it says "Clubs can submit a squad list of 25 players, of which only 17 can be non-homegrown. This means that at least eight players in the 25-man squad must be homegrown. "

So, answering to the post, it matters that Frimpong is homegrown because it gives flexibility to our squad registration, specially with TAA going and other homegrown players like Elliot rumored to leave as well.

Ait Nouri is also HG. I know ED001 is not a fan but I think he's a talent. Him and Hato would provide strategic flexibility, dependent on the opposition and balance within a game.

Hi Dominican_fan, that is not 100% correct (although very close) . Yes only 17 are allowed to be nonhomegrown, but 8 do not have to be homegrown, the club can leave a spot clear in the squad if there are not enough homegrown players. eg if we have 7 homegrown players then we would only have a 24 man squad. There are also rules for younger players, i believe u21 do not count here.
