Agree with the praise for grav, he played really well. Great result away from home especially after going behind early.
Having said all that there's definitely room for improvement. Felt an extra pass in front of goal would have led to couple of tapins for gakpo and slob. Very disappointed in how open we were second half, interesting to hear slot talk about risk vs reward and hopefull we adapt to keeping the ball when we're winning games instead of going for more goals and forcing the play.

Hate to say it but we need someone a bit better than Jota upfront to properly challenge. I know this now means he’ll go on a scoring streak - which is fine - but I thought he was poor again last night as well as against Forest. Not sure what we need to do to get the best out of him….

Jota is a strange player, he can be lethal in the box so he’s great to have around, but often his first touch and build up play is poor. His attitude is excellent though, and his work rate.
Combine him and Nunez and you’d have the perfect player! Slot must think he’s more reliable than Darwin, and you can understand why but it’s a shame the coaches can’t help improve his all round game,

Jota is who he is. He's a 1 in 3 forward, decent but not world class. He's probably not a player that should be starting week in week out for a team that's challenging for the league and champions league.

Just saw Arne's Secret Forward line for Bournemouth Saturday:
"Salah-KONATE-VVD-Gakpo"

I was saying in the transfer window that if we are playing a 4 - 2 - 3 -1 the “1” should have been our priority signing. Jota is a natural scorer but he has his defects. Nunez runs around a lot and, apparently, causes havoc. However, it seems he has problems with a lack of anticipation and awareness (offside way too often) and his finishing, to be charitable, is erratic.

Right now id like to see Jota and Nunez get 45 mins each in matches. As the poster above said, they both bring different facets to the game along with high workrate. It would be a nightmare for opposition defenders having to contain their different styles in the same match.
{Ed025's Note - with them 2 DE its their team mates who need to get used to their different styles mate, 2 headless chickens..

I’d be tempted to play Gakpo on the left, Diaz on the right (of the 3) and put Mo up top.

That would be the front 3 I would like to see as well wdw. Keep salah as close to goal as possible would be my thinking.

If Nunez plays it’s ball through middle or over and crosses in to the box but do they play to his strengths no……as soon as he’s been subbed they start doing it……why? Don’t get it me. He also should be allowed a run of games not a sub appearance here and there and fans on his back when he doesn’t do anything in his 15minute spell. I swear now if he was at another club he’d be firing. Only after a good run of games can he be really assessed and for me he’s never had it. And imagine if all those post he hit were goals haha.

I've been saying this for a long time. Jota is deadly in the box BUT if he can't get those chances to score and is not playing his best or offering anything else then, this is what you get.
Vs Milan, he had a good chance of either scoring or squaring to Gakpo for a tap in and he just fired it wide. That's a guy struggling for confidence.
Maybe it's time for Nunez to start to see what he can bring to the team cos we all know had Darwin not even hit the target nor square the ball in the see situation, the knives would be out. Just my take.

Diaz left, salah centre, chiesa right.
