Trying to decide whether to take a break from watching the boys at 3am now that the season is over or to take a break from this site and all other social media lol

This may be slightly controversial, but no champion has ever won the title all by themselves. Ups and downs and all that, teams dropping points etc. everything is all on. Far too early for this depressing sh*t lol.

{Ed014's Note - maybe you could do a straight swap with United for their squad and manager and give them something to actually moan about ffs!?‍♂️?

The truth is though Ed, coming 2nd or 6th there’s no difference after the season finishes. We are always an inch away from greatness, we get so close then never push on. That’s more frustrating than just being terrible.

{Ed001's Note - no difference? That is possibly the stupidest comment ever made on here and that is saying a hell of a lot.}

Never push on?
We have come so close to another two League titles and an unprecedented quadruple so you can't say the team never push on especially when you look at who we are up against.

No difference between 6th and 2nd? You mean apart from Champions League football?

An inch away from greatness is more frustrating than the plight Utd are in? If we were to plummet to their depths anytime soon I’m sure you’d be begging for 90+ point seasons again straight away.

The entitlement from some of our fanbase is legitimately outrageous ?.

Another clown who should join the Twitter brigade. Noo_nez is in the Klopp out camp.

“We are always an inch away from greatness”
.
So, in the last few years under Klopp when we won the Pl, CL, WCC, FA nd league cups that was nothing?

Give your head a wobble. We are competing against an amazing team with a seemingly bottomless pit of money to build an incredible squad. Get real, we are doing amazingly and achieving greatness against those odds.

No difference in 2nd or.6th? Well there's champions league football for 1, also your dignity, I'm sure players who finish 2nd have a lot more confidence and respect in themselves and a more sense of being proud than finishing 6th, there's a massive difference, what a stupid remark.

Following the Fulham game some of the stuff posted on here was unbelievable. Ok, everyone is entitled to their opinion etc. Posters say we need another midfielder, that we should play Gomez over Matip and so on. As for me, I’ll trust the guy that brought us back from the footballing wilderness, has won everything there is to win, and showed the desire and hunger to win more by signing a new contract. As for the Fulham game itself, one bad game does not a season make.

I think its evident now that lots of posters aren't happy or disappointed with Saturdays performance and result and lots of posters seem positive or are not disappointed. There's no right or wrong or good or bad supporter in this its just opinions.

People who aren't happy might have shot from the hip with their emotions and the positive Percy's have sarcastically shot back with their the seasons over/ Klopp out etc comebacks which have all been good and entertaining to read.

All in all though its different opinions on here that makes this site thrive.

14 - lol true at least there are legitimate cause for manU fans moaning ???.

{Ed014's Note - I know mate, that squad is dire, they actually look bottom half material going on that shit show yesterday with not one genuine star player in their ranks.

I was disappointed with Saturday but I'm happy and positive about the team in general.
How do we gauge how happy we are with the team? Are we disappointed with falling two games short of the quadruple or only coming away from Fulham with a point? Are we happy to see United struggle even when we don't perform or win?

I'd say that performance deserves every ounce of criticism being dished out for once. This was not about personnel, systems or tactics. We turned up with a poor attitude. And what was worse, despite a half time to change things and buck up, it didn't really make a difference.

I won't conflate this performance with our ongoing debate about a general lack (or or waning) athleticism and durability among our midfield options. However, that is a debate for tomorrow.

I think the recent posts on this site just show how far we have come as a club and also show just how difficult it is to beat City to the League these days. We almost need a perfect season now to win the title and whilst it was the first game, draws like that can and have been the difference between winning the league and not. Whilst I still have full confidence for the season ahead, it is trophies that count and will define Klopps legacy when he leaves. It is just a shame the Klopp era happens to fall at the exact same time as the City era, but to be the best, you have to beat the best. Personally, I think this seasons League title will hinge on our results against City - beat them and we put the ball in our court.

Rigsby - couldn’t Care less what manU are up to except for when they play city! I’m happy we’re competing for trophies year in year out, that’s all I ask for!

ed1 - to be fair there really is no difference in Liverpool fans moaning between 2nd and 6th.

{Ed001's Note - good point. Win, lose or draw they will always moan on regardless.}

My missus keeps telling me "we are always an inch (well several actually) away from greatness".
Well I suppose we just keeping pushing on in the hope we reach our climax at the end of the campaign. Nearly achieved it four times last season! ?.

"No difference with being 2nd and 6th", I literally stopped reading after that nugget of "wisdom". The performance on Sat was pathetic and is getting the criticism it deserves. But from there to throwing the towel in after one game cos "Oh, we never push on", is some OTT stuff that just shows how much petulance ans creeped into some in our fan base. I mean, how have some people kept their sanity over the 30 years we didn't win the title?

Oh and btw if you want to win the title or any domestic trophy, there's NO getting around City for the most part. You're going to have to go THRU them. News Flash: We ACTUALLY did that last season to win the domestic double and pummelled City to win the league. We did it before. We can do it again. We keep pushing. We keep fighting and the dam WILL break again.

17.) 08 Aug 2022
08 Aug 2022 12:22:20
yeah 100% agreed - no difference between 2nd and 20th at end of season - still didn't win the title. No point in finishing runner up in cup competitions either as no one wants a runners up medal in fact it just breeds complacency if the players are happy with that. City are the true champions not bothering with their losers charity shield medals. Real champions are winners.

18.) 08 Aug 2022
08 Aug 2022 13:13:32
Yeah, WarMachine73. We get it. We are not real winners, then? So in essence to you, we are losers even when we win trophies as in BEAT City to WIN the FAC Cup, WON a CL trophy ahead of them, wrestle and WON the title off them in 19/ 20 with a qtr of the season left (a record, btw) and yeah, even batter them to WIN the Charity Shield. Yeah, cool story bro.

So let me ask you this: If we are not real winners (despite us winning every single club trophy known to man), shouldn't you be over at City supporting you know, REAL champions/ winners? Why are you here, then? Peace and Love, bro.

19.) 08 Aug 2022
08 Aug 2022 14:13:44
Oli, if I remember correctly, the Charity Shield means absolutely nothing and you don't even care if we win it etc etc. At least be consistent.

WarMachine73, then you got me there, for sure lol. I did not catch that at all. Nice one, bro. We're all good.

@Stuie, you're right. I don't care about the Charity Shield BUT cos I don't care does not mean the players and the teams and both managers don't care cos the last two CS games we have played vs City, those were proper Cup finals with the way both games played out.

From now on, the CS is NOT a friendly where both City and Liverpool are playing each other; Friendlies btw the two teams DON'T exist. Not anymore, IMO.
