Ronaldo must be ruing the day he listened to his footballing father Sir Alex!

I never understood why he went back and what is even funnier the "experts" AKA overpaid pundits told us all he was the man to fire utd to the title after not taking into account the true context into how they finished 2nd under ole.

His and Messi's fall from grace has been spectacluar to say the least.

{Ed0666's Note - how is their fall from Grace spectacular? They’re old men and their legs are gone! They aren’t even half the players they were and hence why they are both struggling. Hardly a fall from Grace mate.

Nice one Ed- looks like the American League is flexing its muscles. Forget bale- I always rated insigne. Big transfer for Toronto imo.

{Ed001's Note - it is just they were shut down on the 1st I believe, due to the July 4 holiday there and so this is the catch up of the moves waiting to happen over the week since. I agree on Insigne, seems a bit young at 31 to retire like this.}

Ed001 some players make strange decisions. Look at Gabriel Jesus, he’s decided to retire from CL football at the age of 25.

{Ed001's Note - ouch! Harsh but fair.}

Bale is your perfect example of a guy who settles for "good enough" instead of constantly aiming for "great". Because being a great is simply too much hard work. Real Madrid ruined him, as they have ruined so many others.

Most wasted talent of his generation. Had the ability to take over from Ronaldo when he left but didn’t have what it takes. And that’s coming from a proud Welshman.

Bale reminds me of the Australian tennis player from 5 or 6 years back - Bernard Tomic. He was in the top 20 in the world, based primarily on natural talent. He was beaten in the 1st or 2nd round of one of the Grand Slam events and basically didn’t even try in the match. He was interviewed after the match and was all but accused of not being a#sed by the reporter. His response was along the lines of ‘Look mate I’m not bothered what you think, I’m travelling the world, getting paid millions and am having a great time and tennis is boring to play’.

There is a word for people like Bale and Tomic and it starts with the letter ‘w’.

I sort of agree with you but just because people are good at something doesn't always mean they enjoy it. It seems to me that bar playing for Wales Bale really does not enjoy playing football anymore.

I’d imagine If there were free tickets going for a meet and greet with Bale and Naby there wouldn’t be much take up on here ?.

Ronaldo went back to stop United getting relegated and he did that.
