Not much there isn’t it?

Not much? Even in the context of football £49m is a lot. It's about 33% more than Nunez and he cost us a huge amount.

£49 million seems like a lot of money to me.

Anyway you look at it, it's a heck of a lot of money and a difference too. Amortized, Haaland will cost 38.6 million per year, while Nunez will cost 24 Million per year. That's a 60% difference right there. And Nunez becomes even cheaper if he doesn't achieve his add-ons.

And for the stats that really matter. drum roll.

I think when you throw in wages it’s always going to show a bigger difference. Wages are over so many years. If Haaland or Nunez are sold in 2 -3 years time then those final figures different.

Just looking at Bobby and Mane they cost similar but with Bobbys wages he would work out to have cost quite a bit more than Mane over the years.

There is no guarantee he would finish 5 years at city. City might sell him for £150 mill to Real in his third year. No chance anyone is paying that kind for Nunez. Haaland is also more an established striker.

If Nunez doesn’t achieve the add ons then we are in a bigger trouble than before. As most of his add ons are based on goals and achievements which he must in order to win the league.

We overpaid by a minimum €25 mill.

“No chance anyone is paying that for Nunez”

Based on what?

Do you even support Liverpool or like any of our players?

Lol this has no reactance to support @Navy
His transfer fee is through the roof and we are committed to pay €100 mill to Benfica (no matter what) when we sell him we would want more than that and that’s not happening to me
Where as Haaland only cost them £50 mill in transfer fee. And there are admirers for him (Real and PSG)

Nonsense then more nonsense to top it off. Nunez might easily surpase Haaland and fetch a huge transfer fee if we ever want to sell him.

Harry, Haaland is more expensive than Nunez over the period of contract. The difference in wages is astronomical. Furthermore, we are committed to pay Benfica a total of 100 million, of which 22 million is add-ons.
My understanding is that if Liverpool pay the add-ons, then it means the club and Nunez have been very successful, therefore his value will obviously rise significantly.
Your post implies Liverpool have already paid 100 mill for Nunez and Man City have only paid 50 mill for Haaland, which is untrue and you make no mention of wages, agents, commission etc.
You are clearly suggesting Haaland is an absolute bargain and Liverpool have been fleeced for Nunez.
I'm certain Nunez had admirers too Harry, Man Utd for example.

It’s impossible to tell who is a better purchase until they have completed the length of their contracts. All those stats show is cost. The value of that cost depends on the players performances. If Nunez ruptures ligaments every year he’s going to be grouped in with memories of Balotelli and Andy Carroll. If he scores 40 a year, the transfer fee and wages will be an utter bargain. Right now, those stats say very little.

Greenflash, you are assuming that Harry is making good faith arguments here. He isn’t. He is here to bash LFC could that us what he does. Nobody knows what will happy with either Haaland or Nunez and in two years, Haaland could be off to Madrid if they trigger his release clause and if he did well for them. If Nunez does well for us, Madrid ain’t coming in for him cos we ain’t selling. Notice Harry did not tell you that.

All in all, I’m not getting involved in such a feckless, media driven comparison btw two players who have as much chance at failure as they do at success. We can only hope Darwin works out and if he does and we pay the add-ons then, he would have been a bargain cos we would have won big, just like We did with VVD.
