Jones, elliot, carvalho, just because we haven't spent £50M + on midfielder dosen't mean we are short. Really enjoyed some of your replies to posts over the last few weeks eds-great site?.

{Ed001's Note - cheers TC, and I agree, we are good in midfield. If we could replace Keita too, that would be fantastic but it is not as desperate as people seem to think.}

I said the other day that a new midfielder is a want rather than a need. Elliott, Jones and Carvalho are all excellent young players, time to give them the chance to prove they are good enough.

Has anyone else noticed that the argument for a new midfielder is because Jones 21, Carvalho 19 and Elliot 19 are all youngsters and we need a more established midfielder. The beauty is that the fan favourite to be that player is Bellingham who is the youngest of the 4 at 18.

When we get Bellingham next summer though JK our midfield will be mostly sorted for the next decade hopefully.

I’d like us to sign a midfielder, but also because I want us to sell Keita and replace him.

From what I have gathered, and what I have assumed and agreed with, has been the need for a new midfielder to backup the DM and CM positions (ie., Fabinho, Hendo and Thiago) . Now unless Klopp is planning to pull a "Wijnaldum" and convert one of Jones, Elliott or Carvalho into a CM/ DM backup, I don't see the relevance? I haven't mentioned Keita because he's been simply underwhelming consistently. And if Morton shows himself to be good enough to backup the DM/ CM positions then all fine and good, because there's noting better than promoting from within and saving money in the transfer markets. Otherwise, prudence suggests we go out and buy one. If people thought that this past season was fast and furious, this coming one is even more condensed with shorter rests between games. The 5 substitutes rule will help, but why rely on external aids when you can address it internally?

I think we should give a team 40 mill to take Kieta off our hands.

That way we keep fans happy by spending money and make them ecstatic by getting rid of Naby. 2 birds one stone.

We won't be paying the outlay required for Bellingham.
