I think if carvalho and Elliott show anything of which is expected from them next season I see no reason at all to pursue bellingham next summer.
Elliot looked stellar before his injury, looking very special, carvalho looks very exciting aswell. Rice would be far more suited buy obviously price and other clubs interest makes that difficult . For me if those two have very good seasons I can't see any reason to pursue a very expensive bellingham.

Well if they end up brilliant why not add another, let's face even better player to compliment them? We should be, like every club trying to sign as many top players as is possible. let's face it if Bellingham becomes the player people expect (and at 18 he's already very very good) then a few years ago we would have had no chance of getting him, now we do and if a deal is possible next summer we should go for it. Another piece of Klopps next great team. We can't expect to get all our future players for the bargains we've picked Elliott, Carvalho, Ramsey and Gordon for.

This isn’t a knock on Elliot as I really hope that all the talk about Elliot and his potential he fulfils but the question I have to ask is in the 2 and a half games he played in midfield last season before his injury against Burnley, Chelsea and Leeds what did he do that made him look so stellar. I’ve even seen quotes that he’s a future Balon D’or winner.

Like I said it’s not me knocking the lad but more to protect him. As I think we are putting far too much pressure on the kid as fans to be putting him on this pedestal after 243 minutes of Premier league football in midfield.

I don’t believe in this whole Bellingham signing this summer stuff. We need cover for Fab and hopefully, we can get it done. I heard Paul Joyce has also said that no midfielder is coming in this summer so can someone confirm or disprove this?

JK I get what you mean. He hasn’t set the world alight by any means. But I think where most people are coming from, myself included, is that it is by no means normal that an 18 year old comes into the first team of a top end premier league club, let alone one of the best teams in the world at present, on a consistent basis and at looks completely at home, not fazed in the slightest, playing confidently to the extent where fans hope to see more of him and at ease when seeing his name on the team sheet, something I cannot say for the like of Naby for example. Is he a super wonder kid like Neymar was? No of course not, but it isn’t normal and it raises expectations. A lot of midfielders in the premier league play like he does when they hit their peak in their late 20’s. Elliot is 10 years off that so if he carries on developing the hopebwould he we have something very special there. Despite what some on here say about Jones I count him in that same bracket and hope I can with Carvalho as well. If it all goes well our midfield could be sorted for the next 10-15 years.

Apart from taa- Elliot might well become one of the very very few English players in quite a time to live up to the hype. Let’s hope he continues to improve and not plateau way too young. Personally I believe both will become incredible players for the club.

Got to agree with you JK. I’m never really understood some of the comments either. Undoubtedly he has talent and potential but showcasing that on a regular basis is another thing. Hopefully he does it but I’m still personally not expecting too much from him for a couple seasons in which time hopefully he’s grown into his potential. Hope I’m wrong!
