Good morning ed1. Do you know if west ham would be willing to sell declan rice and what sort of fee they be looking? Think he would suit us nicely, can play 6 or 8. Physical stronge and seems by all accounts good leader. Have 2 admit I didn't think he would end up being as good a player as he is.

Although a very good player he is way too slow to play anywhere for us other than the Fabinho role and I'd rather have Fabinho.

There’s a young lad at Lille called amadou Onana I’d love to see in a Liverpool shirt, not started an abundance of games but whenever I’ve seen him he looks good, reckon Klopp could turn him into a brick wall.

Do you think he is quick?! From what I have seen he is too slow to play a box to box role in a Klopp team. But that's just my opinion. I don't know as much as you.

He’s as quick as Fabinho, which isn’t quick lol, but not slow either.

Interesting that west ham feel they can keep hold of him, they've produced some good players over the years but always had to sell them not long after they broke in2 1st team. Fair play to them.

Rice is far quicker than Fabinho. He's a bit like Henderson in that it doesn't look like he's going fast but he eats up the ground. He doesn't have a short burst of acceleration off the mark like Thiago or Elliott use to beat a man, but once Rice gets going he is a very powerful runner.

Rice would be THE midfielder for me and I also agree with ED01. We don't play with box to box midfielders.

Haha, Malik, Hendo/ gini/ Milner never played as box to box midfielders. Their game was about controlling and dominating the midfield with energy and oresssing and then to get the ball to the full backs or forwards as quick as possible plugging the gaps that the full backs leave when they maraude forwards.

A box to box midfielder is someone who effects play at both ends of the pitch, how often did any of those three step foot in the opposition box and contribute goals? Very rarely because that wasn’t their job.
