ed001 is it possible you could do a quick review of the game? . I value your opinion highly, it seemed like dreadful defending by both trent and vvd in particular for their goal which was the only attack they had all game and they scored! .

{Ed001's Note - no mate, I haven't been watching games out of superstition. At least the Chapions League final ended that one so I can get back to normal next season.}

It wasn't dreadful defending that lost us the game. We didn't score because of our finishing, poor passing in the final third, too much running with and holding onto the ball in the final third and Courtois having a decent game.
One goal was enough to win that game and if we'd scored first, I think we'd have won.
We were not far off.

Courtois didn't make a single save he wouldn't have been expected to make. He was well positioned for all our shots. Quality of our finishing and quality of chances created was our downfall not their keeper.

Spot on, Rigsby. Someone made a comment that if we had been told that we would ONLY concede one goal in the final to RM, we would have taken that for sure cos we were all confident we could score two at least. We had the chances to win that game despite being a goal behind BUT poor finishing along with Courtois making 2/ 3 clutch saves did us in, IMO.

Poor finishing is an area we need to really improve upon next season cos we DO NOT convert as many chances as we need to, in comparison to the amount of chances we actually create.
