Ed001 I see that it says Mane has decided he wants a new challenge but I see the fee is about £25m surly not. I am sure there would be a few team interested in him and we could get a bigger fee than that especially after his second half of the season.

Was Thiago not the same position and am sure Nane we go on longer. Madrid paid 100m hazard about the same age and contract length. Bayern are thought to want £50m for lewandowski at 33 so seems very low to me Ed.

Origi played enough to make a difference in fairness, 3 goals in 7 league games is better than a lot of players I could name 😜

As for the youngsters, the harsh but true reality is that at the moment none of them appear ready, either because they’re not ready to step up yet or because they’re not good enough to step up. That’s just a harsh reality of young players, there are far more Adam Morgan’s than there are Robbie Fowler’s.

Mane scored 16 goals and set up 2 in the league so that’s 18 goals we have to find from somewhere and since we don’t get them from midfield, something has to happen or an already difficult 22/ 23 season will become impossible.

Agree with you vvv we need a goal scorer, one that's the finished article to replace him.
With City getting Haaland, even more so.
Diaz gets a lot of love and he is a good player, but for me his goal scoring numbers need to improve if he's to take Mane's squad position.

It’s goals from midfield that helped City win the league TBH Snoots, we need some of that as well rather than having to rely on just the front 3. I think City will lose a bit of that with having to adapt their play to fit Haaland in, although he’ll probably score enough to make up the lost midfield goals.

I can’t quite put my finger on what’s missing from our team but last night showed that we really do need someone who can turn great chances int actual goals - I’ve no idea who that player is though!

I'd love a proper goalscorer tbh, I think the likes of a Harry Kane would've buried one of the chances we created yesterday

Awk we fo score a lot of goals but struggle against teams set up with a low block, counter attack style. That's were a Lewandoski type would be great, gets one chance and buries it

Who I honestly don't know, I think Harry Kane would be great at Liverpool but we could never afford him so it's about identifying that type of player. Hope our scouting dept can do it.

Is t it the same situation as when we bought Thiago from Bayern a couple of seasons back? He was also in last year of contract and also same age, and the fee was £20 million if. Remember rightly.
