It was an incredible league campaign. Didn't end how we wanted, but I'm proud of these Reds.

We did our best
But if I’m feeling salty, the VAR decision for city Vs Everton May have made a difference.

In January we would have bitten City's hand off to take it to the 80th minute of the last game and still have a chance. We are some team, City are just a wee touch better. So proud of the teams effort and endeavour over the season.

We still have a CL final, something City don't.

I don't know about you all, but if we win next weekend LFC has been the best English team this season.

I wish we had scored that 2nd goal sooner. at the time when Man city were 0-2 down. That may have added more nerves to City's game.
The fact that (today) we never went top of table even for a moment gave City the hope. Just my opinion!

Anyway, UCL final awaits. Up the Reds!

Bring on next season as the song says things can only get better proud to be a Scotsmen but even prouder to follow the reds.

Does anyone think we'd have won if we'd two down today? I don't think we would have. But City did.
I'm just glad we won and go into the CL with a win.

Fantastic effort by all the squad, 14 points behind and got it down to 1 point. Good effort by villa to go 2 up gutted they couldn't hang on. Next up Real Madrid get a well earn rest boys and come back stronger. ynwa so close.

I love my reds. Gave it their all and took it all the way to the last 80 mins of the season after being written 5 months ago. Cleaned up the domestic Cups with a UCL final awaiting winning ALL its away games and suffering only ONE defeat with three measly losses in 62 games in all comps overall so far. Once again, I love my reds and that will NEVER change come hell or high water. On to Paris, We go! YNWA!

Fantastic league campaign. Slightly disappointed we didn’t put the pressure on by scoring until it was over but it’s in the past now. All the focus on Ol Big Ears and bringing home number 7!

Can only agree with you TheRedKop. the added pressure could of helped Aston villa. Gutted.
Play like we did today and we lose the champs league too.
Come on reds.

@rigsby I am not sure how you can say that as we scored 3 goals after going 1 down so it is not inconceivable to imagine us doing the same from 2 down……credit to us for getting 92 points, and credit to city for being better, they are a top team and is just unfortunate we have come so close yet again.

Aston Villa were always going to be handicapped today after playing on Thursday Night and MC last played a week today, would three more rest days helped Villa we will never know but it would of helped not hindered them.

We have the chance of instant "Karma" on MC by winning the UCL next week, we have to take it. A slight concern is the number of first goals we have regularly conceded to the opposition lately, it's a bad habit we need to get rid of ASAP.

Lets hope our number of European Cup win's matches my username number next Saturday Night. See you all on the UCL victory parade next Sunday again.

For me it was the spurs game. I thought the title was taken from us that day. Since then it’s been a colossal performance but it wasn’t meant to be. I feel salah losing form was the difference. What might have been had he performed against city. Still- right now, all I care about is Tiago and Saturday. Haven’t been online or on sly sports and really don’t want to- so if there’s word I’d love to hear.

Lads can hold their heads high. They’ve been absolutely fantastic in the league this season and their ability of late to keep going despite us going behind has shown true character.

We’ve won 2 domestic cups which is brilliant and those cups have again found some worth amount us LFC fans.

We have our biggest game of the season next week and the recent injuries to Vvd and today Thiago are a concern. The lads looked mentally exhausted at the final whistle today and you could see the deflation when they realised they hadn’t won the league.

Origi had a huge send off today and throughly deserved. My big concern is that could also be the last time we see Salah or Mane or worst case both in LFC shirts at Anfield and we never even realised it.

Time for the players to rest up and we go again in 6 days time.

In fairness to Spurs they gave us and City hard games. For me the failure was the draws with Brentford and Brighton and the defeat to Leicester. Still, at least have one more game and we did all that we were able to. Relying on others to do your work for you never really works, with due respect to Villa.

Man. of. todd, I think our heads might have gone down at two down. I mean, we didn't play well at all and were panicky at 0-1 and 1-1.
I think the difference is, that when City did go two down it was still in their hands and that was never the case for us today.
Fabulous efforts from both City and ourselves today, though.

It really hurts but next week we will be ecstatic.

23.) 22 May 2022

I don’t think it hurts I’m actually surprisingly happy, nobody gave us a chance the other month we pulled it back, picking up trophies for fun on the way, in the champions league final, most successful English team and the futures sparkling! Boss manager boss team, or sucks but we know next season we jsut need it eh ruthless and hopefully the referees are held accountable, we didn’t lose the title due to referees but in general they’ve been embarrassing, imagine Everton got relegated because of an apology. Next season we’ll do it.

Rigsby you could say we wouldn’t have come back from 2-0 down but City did. I’d say if we needed to win to be sure of the title we never would’ve gone 2-0 down at home in the first place.
City are flaky but they have great players to drag them out of trouble sometimes.
We are mentally stronger and more solid with plenty of leaders and strong characters. Both great teams but very different in their make up.
I have to say I think we’ve been the better team this season. The fact we’ve got to all cup finals tells you that. They have won the league due to key decisions going their way at crucial times. The penalty they shouldn’t have had against Wolves and the penalty Everton should’ve had. That was 4 points they coined purely down to poor officiating.
I can’t think of any such blatantly incorrect decisions that have won games for us.
