I wasn't sure if I wanted Everton to go down, more so we could carry on the banter when they came to Anfield.

After yesterday, I hope they go down. They smashed up the Anfield road end toilets, broke tv screens, continually sang murderers and you haven't liked anyone since 1989 ( I was there and it wasn't just a few ) lighter and coin throwing onto fans sat in the lower main stand.

They are by far the most vile away support I've come across in recent times and I've been going home and ( away, so much much recently ) since the 80's.

The bitterness has reached new levels. Listen to yesterdays Five Live Football Daily podcast following the match. You could almost hear the spit coming out of the Everton fans mouth. Apparently there’s an agenda against little old Everton. They must have forgotten Prickfords abuse on Van Dijk last season. They are really embarrassing themselves.

It's not on but believe me guys our fans are no angels on that front. Some of the away fans see it as a badge of honour to come back from places like old Trafford with their seats. The murderers thing is getting worse and worse and its been passed down to the younger generation to. The days of the friendly Derby have long since gone and I really doubt they'll ever come back.

All clubs including ourselves have nasty waste of air fans. Is there no way to identify these idiots and just ban them for life?
Regardless of age or reason do something wrong and you loose the ability to come watch the match live.
I can only see something like this would stop the nonsense.

Sadly I don't see any other way than increasing security arrangements at stadiums. More cameras everywhere, more security personnel and being more strict with those who are caught (and issuing lifetime bans) . If you take sufficient preventive actions, chances are that miscreants will always have a second think over it and decide it's not worth doing.

Of course all football clubs do, but moving away from the crimes of individual people and he-said-she-said, the culture and mentality that has enveloped everybody associated with that football club is absolutely deplorable. The fact that every one of them to a man were proud of what they saw yesterday and haven’t stopped whining tells you all you need to know. Any club that boos their new manager after 45 minutes in the first game of the season deserves to go down.

That's it Baz it used to be so different- ours was a fierce rivalry but one that saw rival fans dit beside each other and why not? Ppl grew up supporting red whilst a dialing was a blue, friends and family alike were blue and red but these days the banter and goodwill seems sadly gone and too much bad elements on both sides mean I don't think we'll ever see those days again.

{Ed025's Note - your spot on bill. Unfortunately it’s a society problem that has spilt into football mate..

100% ed25 it's definitely a society thing. What has helped give a platform for these behaviours is social media and it will continue to riddle society until they are all brought under control. Unfortunately it's turning the beautiful game into a sour bitter field of hatred rather than the sport its supposed to be.

{Ed025's Note - your dead right joe. It’s one of the reasons I fell out of love with football to a large degree mate , that and the greed. I went to a derby at goodison about 8 years ago and after witnessing the vitriol and hatered spewed from both sets of supporters I vowed to never go to a match again. And I have been true to my word..

It has 100% got a lot more vicious. I remember in the 90s seeing blue and red mixed together in the stands. Not sure when exactly it changed but I know watching on Sunday that I’ve never wanted us to beat Everton so badly.
