I hate to say it but I can't see us winning the league. I think City will win all their remaining games. Most of those teams will roll over as usual. I think we will win the champions league though. I'm praying I'm wrong of course but just can't see it personally.

Do teams roll over or are City just a very good side. We’ve only beaten them once in the last 9 games so does that mean we rolled over.

We’re a top quality side but it doesn’t mean we can’t give credit where credit is due. Whoever wins the league this season be it City or us will have thoroughly have deserved it.

{Ed001's Note - can it not be both? That's how it seems to me, City are a very good side but some teams do roll over for them because of that.}

I have just asked my dear old mum for a message, she says City will lose 0-1 at West Ham, winning all their other games and the only points we drop are in a 1-1 draw at home to Tottenham. Can someone do the maths?

Ed001 I think it can be both mate. And I’d imagine some rival fans probably believe teams roll over for us when we are at it and we steam roll teams.

I just think teams have no idea how to play City and the only option is to park the bus and hit them on the break and hope that they are clinical with a couple of the chances they get abs City are wasteful with the chances they have.

A few seasons ago teams did it to us and simply parked the bus which was extremely frustrating but our high line now actually encourages teams to come and have a go at us which in return stops them parking the bus so much against us.

All we can do is win our remaining 7 league games and hope that one of City’s 7 opponents feel like they have something to play for and catch them on that break.

{Ed001's Note - if teams have no idea, then they should sack their coaching staff immediately as the way to beat them has been shown many times. It is certainly not sitting back and inviting them on.}

If you look at city’s run in, most of the teams are bottom half, we still have United, Everton and Spurs. Now everyone will laugh and say “ Everton and United “? But believe me, them lot will fo everything they can to stop us.

I’m usually pretty positive but for me, we needed to win on Sunday.

If I’m proved wrong, I’ll strip off and run around this site naked 😂.

I've not read such downbeat nonsense for a long time. Tottenham and Crystal Palace have shown that Man City have their vulnerabilities. To declare everything over is premature. I personally feel they'll drop 5 more points this season. I'm not sure how we'll do because my vision becomes tainted by my love of Liverpool. I have a romantic vision that it goes down to the wire and as we beat Wolves on the final day of the season, Stevie G's Aston Villa beat Man City to hand us the title. Here's to hope.

Funnily enough the average place of the teams we face is 11th and theirs is 12th so the indifference isn't huge. We play 2 p. poor teams at home then Newcastle away. Newcastle aren't in a relegation fight anymore so it shouldn't be an issue. City have west ham away and if they are still I'm contention for top 4 they'll fight hard. We shall see but the quad is still on. I rememeber the days the only 4 we were fighting for was 4th.

I'll go over to the United page to cheer myself up lol.

9.) 12 Apr 2022
12 Apr 2022 09:30:48
Ed001 what is the way to beat them?

{Ed001's Note - you have to suffocate them, swarm them and treat it like you are a lower league team facing a big Prem team in the 3rd round of the FA Cup. Under pressure they struggle, particularly Ederson, who can't kick under pressure and gets rash.}

10.) 12 Apr 2022
12 Apr 2022 09:39:44
I'm different Drogie. I can't explain it but the one that's concerning me is Southampton. But I do see why you're concerned about Everton and Man United. To be fair tho we done them both over pretty convincingly at their own grounds. Spurs are obviously the stand out team but they are hit and miss. Midweek is massive for City. Atletico aren't having a great season and I can see them kicking lumps out of city.

11.) 12 Apr 2022
12 Apr 2022 09:52:08
@Drogie, why does winning or drawing the game against City, impact the scores in matches two or three weeks later?

About two months ago the situation was that we needed to win as many games as possible and City had to drop points - nothing’s changed and won’t for the remainder of the season.

We need to concentrate on the Benfica match and make sure we qualify for the CL semi.

I noticed at times on Sunday our full backs, particularly Robbo were quite narrow and seemed to let the wide player stay out wide alone. O don't know if this was deliberate or if they were expecting cover but I think they need to tighten up a bit this weekend.

Nothing negative, nothing downbeat - it’s a matter of opinion based on what I think might happen and I don’t think city will drop many, if any points, certainly not 5 lol. Looking at their fixtures, the only game I potentially see them dropping a point is West Ham.

14.) 12 Apr 2022
12 Apr 2022 10:49:35
City are a fantastic side and we are a point behind them. That's how good we are.
When we were beating City by suffocating them our midfield and Firmino had more legs.
We are better up top and at the back but our midfield has dropped in intensity, I think.
If we can defend better and create and take our chances we can beat them. That might be too late for the league but don't be too downhearted because we are the only side to challenge them to this stage.
I'm proud of that.

Ed 001 I wonder if teams feel the need to do what your propose
It’s after all just a PL game and 3 pts. If they are not desperate for the points, just play it out and if they get anything it’s a bonus
Might not agree with this mindset but it seems that’s how it is, why fight like mad dogs for a game and get knackered, they get to play them again in a few months vs lower league teams where this is a once off chance to cause an upset and be in the headlines even if they get knocked out the next round

And too bad, Ederson found his kicking boots in time to not let in a v soft own goal.

{Ed001's Note - you are right unless they are desperate.for points they save their legs for the easier games.}

For me City have three big games left, leeds, wolves and west ham. Leeds by that point will probably be safe and be at home in an evening kick off. They are one of the sides who have no fear and could cause them problems. And elland road will be bouncing if they are safe by that point. A complete free hit for leeds. Add to that it could be after a CL Semi and that isn't as straight forward as people think!

Wolves are solid and have taken points of them before, again it is away from home so no means a walk in the park.

West Ham are not an easy team to play either and may need to win to keep their place in europe.

Yes we have banana skins too, but hopefully Mahrez miss come the end of the season is looked at the same way has Dembeles for Barca. You should of killed us off when you had the chance!

Personally I think the CL will play a huge part in the destination of the title, I don't think pep has won it in ten years. And still gets called the best, he needs to get that monkey of his back and will be eager to do so and cement his legacy at City. After all that was a big reason he was brought in.

@West Derby - as you know it’s all about confidence and that draw at keeping them top gives City a massive psychological boost.

Keeping aside Mahrez miss, we should have beaten Leicester and Steve Bruce Newcastle and this debate wouldn’t be happening here. Drawing games has always been our issue. We bottled 10 points leage two years ago drawing far too many games and has happened again.

Harry, I have to diagree, teams drop points for various reasons throughout a season. Silly mistakes, decisions that can go for or against you, bad luck i. e. deflection. Injuries and when you play certain teams are all factors which have to be taken into account.

Leagues have been won on 86, 87 and 81 points respectively before that's as many as 33 points dropped. the difference is every small mistakes are amplified by two teams who have the ability to be near perfect.

City have dropped points to Palace, Spurs and Southampton this year. So could use the same excuse. These are all games which on paper they should of won. Fortunately football isn't played on paper.

Ed, hope you're well mate but on subject I agree. What really does my head in is so many teams in this league won't attack city. They're a bloody great side and so they should be but their keeepr and defence really aren't that special, if attacked they will always crumble under pressure. they are all about attack attack attack so when they finally get attacked they concede, they aren't used to it. Too many afraid teams for me, back in the day this wouldn't of been the case, for Christ sake give it to them if every team they faced actually went for it and didn't play for the draw they'd of lost plenty this season. We'd of been way ahead in the race.

12 Apr 2022 14:40:26
Haha - ArAy, reckon at least one of the Ed’s would give me a ban, so I’ll take you’re advice mate 😃.

23.) 12 Apr 2022
12 Apr 2022 17:14:38
I don't know why anyone even bothers to argue with Harry, he's literally made up this draw against Newcastle and keeps banging on about how we're going to lose the league title because of that.

{Ed0666's Note - The midday kick off is just gonna add to his conspiracy theory 😂

24.) 12 Apr 2022
12 Apr 2022 17:39:01
Well Harry yes we can blame ourselves for the draws
But if the difference is 1 point, couldn’t it have been the no handball but mike Riley apologies to Everton for a handball not given against City that may have made the difference? 😏.

Spot on, WY Red. Can someone please tell me how logical it is to think that we were down and out while being potentially 14 points behind and YET still believe we are down and out after clawing the lead back to just one point? That is a logic that maybe the OP can can explain cos I l don’t get it.

The media were telling us that they couldn’t see where City would drop points while at the same time, they were DROPPING points to teams they should have beaten. Again, I don’t get it. People may be disappointed cos we didn’t win on Sun (don’t know how one can be that disappointed based on the way the game played out) but this is not the time to throw in the towel.

I say, Get behind mad the boys and let’s bring this baby home cos nobody thought we would be here in Jan yet here we are. City bottled an 8 point lead yet we throw in the towel? Not me. I’m in it till the end.
