Without trying to be negative about Bobby and Jota but I'm really hoping to see the same attack on Sunday. I'm guessing possession maybe hard to come by so Jotas slack passing could cause us problems and Bobby for me doesn't pose the same goal threat at Mane. But now I've said this get a few quid on Jota and Bobby to both start and both score.

{Ed0666's Note - I would go Diaz, Bobby & Salah. Leave Jota & Mane on the bench. Both teams know each other inside out so we need to give them something to think about the unknown quality which is Luis Diaz. Then let Bobby do the donkey work and hope Salah is firing on all cylinders

I think Mo is going to bag one on Sunday. I know he's not at his brilliant best but on Tuesday his chances were more good saves by their keeper rather than anything he did wrong I'd say.

i would bench Mo and play Mane on right side. He hasn't been good since december.

Big game Bobby will start. Right now I’d start mane over Diaz too if it wasn’t city I’d start mane on the right and drop Salah.

In fairness all 5 have contributed extremely well this season at different points so whatever Klopp decides to go with I’ll be happy.

And to be honest I think all 5 will play some kind of part on Sunday.

I know Bobby divides opinions on here but he has to start imo. He will put them under all sorts of pressure to hopefully make mistakes from the front. Then replace him with Jota around 60 mins after he has inevitably run himself into the ground.

So im 100% with Ed0666 on this, even city would be sick to the stomach to see mane and jota come on with fresh legs with 25-30 mins left.

Judging by the subs during the Benfica game, Mane and Salah will start and Diaz will not. Then it's between Jota and Firmino for the central role, and I won't be surprised if Klopp went with Firmino to start. Jota has shown that he can make an impact off the bench.

7.) 07 Apr 2022
07 Apr 2022 16:19:31
I don't think Firmino will start.

8.) 07 Apr 2022
07 Apr 2022 16:41:14
I think he should go with the fabled trio of Mane, Firmino, Salah.

9.) 07 Apr 2022
07 Apr 2022 16:48:18
I would go Diaz, Mane and Salah, but think we will go Mane, Bobby, Salah.

What about midfield surely this is the rare occasion that Thiago starts 2 in a row.

I would go with that lineup as well, Ed666 cos I think even tho Mane tho he bagged at Benfica, looked tired and out of ideas. Jota and Mane off the bench is mouthwatering as well. We shall see.

{Ed0666's Note - how on earth did we get to this juncture? Discussing who will start up front when just a few moons ago the decision was cut and dried it was Mane, Bobby & Salah. Let me quote that famous Michelin star restaurant beloved by the kids ‘ I’m loving it’

When Firmino, Mane and Salah were on the pitch a few weeks ago against Arsenal (i think) we got a glimpse of what we'd been missing. You don't know what you have until it's gone and their link up play was effortless and crisp. If it's possible, I think Klopp will go for that tried and tested against City on Sunday. Control the game by keeping possession at first, then if we need to throw on Diaz or Jota off the bench to shake things up. I equally would be happy with Diaz starting over Mane, as he seems better at keeping the ball and more unpredictable, but is still clearly finding his feet and can look a little isolated at times. Familiarity in this situation might be for the best. I don't think there is any way that Jota starts this one. Diaz and Jota coming on late in the game could be the ace up our sleeve that we need.

For me it’s: Diaz, Bobby, Mane.
Salah is out of form and his contract negotiations are an issue.
Imagine being able to bring an angry Mo on at the hour mark with a point to prove!

14.) 07 Apr 2022
07 Apr 2022 18:44:43
I'll bet city's right back would be dead chuffed to see a pumped up Diaz coming on in the 60th minute just as he's starting to feel the effects of a hard game.
Diaz would tear him a new one.

What Rome said.

16.) 07 Apr 2022
07 Apr 2022 18:47:24
I would start Diaz for to reasons 1 he’s friggin brilliant! With tones of energy and 2 Man City know that taking mane off probably means he’s starting on Sunday so throw a curve ball in there.

17.) 07 Apr 2022
07 Apr 2022 19:15:00
Salah has been out of form but he will 100% start this game. If I had to put money on it I’d say Mane Jota Salah will be given the nod.

18.) 07 Apr 2022
07 Apr 2022 19:26:53
Cannot believe you going to drop Salah for the most important game 😂😂😂 Salah wouid draw a minimum three defenders to him unlike mane who would roll on the ground forever. City don’t give a damn about Mane. Salah is the threat, the only player they actually fear.

19.) 07 Apr 2022
07 Apr 2022 19:37:05
I reckon it will be:

Ali

TAA
Matip
VVD
Robbo

Keita
Fabs
Tiago

Luis D
Bobby
Mo

I think Hendo, Sadio and Diogo will all play a part too.

What a beautiful problem to have! Totally spoilt and loving it. Long may it last. I think klopp will go mane, jota, salah. I’d go Diaz, mane, salah.

21.) 07 Apr 2022
07 Apr 2022 21:05:11
I think its going to be
Ali
Trent
Matip
Vvd
Robbo
Hendo
Thiago
Fabinho
Mo
Bobby
Firmino
3-2 to us, hendo, mo, bobby.

{Ed0666's Note - I agree but I think it will be Salah, Diaz & Bobby up front.

22.) 07 Apr 2022
07 Apr 2022 21:40:35
Really are spoilt for choice Ed, whoever starts up front you'd fancy at least one of them to score. I can't think of one club who have ever have forward options like that. Do feel bad for Minamino, think he's done very well whenever he's played.

23.) 07 Apr 2022
07 Apr 2022 21:41:38
I don’t think that Diaz will start, wouldn’t surprise me to be the traditional front 3 amigos.

{Ed0666's Note - I hope you’re wrong mate. Really want Diaz to start.

24.) 07 Apr 2022
07 Apr 2022 22:14:11
Bobby was solid last couple of games. That final ball against City will be vital. Diaz Bobby Salah for me. Salah is due a big game. Mids have to go w thiago fab hendo. Matip for Konate.

25.) 07 Apr 2022
07 Apr 2022 22:57:22
Would be a mental stat that we could take on the league leaders with the leagues 2nd and 3rd top scorers on the bench.

26.) 08 Apr 2022
08 Apr 2022 00:26:06
JK Bobby has been injured a lot and how many would Diaz have bagged if he'd been w us all season? Not going to argue either way solid options no matter. Diaz is an unknown for Pep but Mane has the big match experience as does Bobby. Jota can't pass of late and he's just off for me. I could see Diaz Bobby/ Jota and Mane right but eventually Salah will be back at it. He was a mixed bag midweek.

27.) 08 Apr 2022
08 Apr 2022 00:31:46
TT, I hope Pep is thinking along your lines about Mane but somehow i suspect he won't be.

28.) 08 Apr 2022

Redflyer I was only saying it would be a mental stat mate.

What a dilemma for jurgen. Alli
Robbo matip vvd and trent. Hendo thiago and fabinho midfield. That's a given our best defence and midfield. Up top I would play Diaz bobby and mo personally but he may be thinking differently. Upfront is where this game is won or lost. if klopp gets it wrong we lose. We need to turn up and perform first and foremost. And whoever plays upfront needs to perform 100%, get mo into the game, mane needs to stay on his feet and bobby needs to roll back the years. Fingers crossed lads.
