Ed001, why do you think that Klopp seems to partner Thiago with Jones so often?

{Ed001's Note - because they work well together. He plays Thiago to control possession and Jones does that too. It can sometimes be necessary to play legs with Thiago, against teams you have to fight for possession against, but most of the time you don't need that.}

Cheers Ed.

{Ed001's Note - very welcome TJ. Personally I like Jones in that kind of situation, he offers something different from the rest of our midfield.}

I've always liked Jones. Ed, do you think he is the potential successor to Thiago?

{Ed001's Note - very possibly, if he can learn from him there is every possibility he has the right skillset to develop along those lines.}

I honestly believe that Jones will do very well at Liverpool.

I agree with u barry, makings of an excellent player for us. If can get out of habit of "dilly-dallying" in final third he will b good for us.

I think he's got a bit faster recently too. He's still got a lot of developing to do and I think he's great.

{Ed001's Note - I really like Jones as well, I think he gets unfairly criticised over things people perceive to be his fault when they aren't. A lot of the time he holds onto the ball too long because no one is moving for him to play him. He is young and learning, in time he will know to play the pass anyway to force his teammate to make the run.}

Jones and Thiago did a good job last night, helped to take a lot of sting out of the game. It was still 0-0 when they were subbed, don’t forget.
I thought both players gave a mature ‘European’ performance, didn’t go daft, and stayed out of the red physically also, which is especially important in Thiago’s case.
Bit unfair to criticise Jones last night, he didn’t tear it up, granted.
But he wasn’t asked to.

Spot on, Ed. I rate Jones very highly cos he is fearless, dies not hide, wants the ball all the time and his ball skills and technical ability are of a very good level for such N experienced player. I see people saying Foden is better than him. Foden has been poor in a lot of games I’ve watched this season and hides during games BUT as England’s boy, we dare not talk about it. Jones is mint and can be as good as he wants to be, IMO.

{Ed001's Note - he seems to have become a whipping boy lately.}

Yes he is the target of the fans bile for some reason. Personally think he will be an integral part of our squad and first team in the upcoming years.

ED01 sadly, it doesn't matter how well Jones plays, it will never be enuff for his detractors who continue to slander a 21 yr old who is still learning the game and playing and contributing to the cause with world class/ true ballers as his competition for places in midfield and STILL manages to more than hod his own. Sad.
