I've said before that Chelsea are better without Lukaku, I personally hope he plays against us on Sunday! I'd much rather we had a physical battle against Lukaku than Chelsea having a more dynamic trio of say Havertz, Pulisic, Ziyech.
When was the last time Chelsea spent big on a striker and it actually worked out? Drogba!?

Diego Costa was a very good striker, an absolute beast of a player and a defenders nightmare, I would have had a warrior like him in our team when he was in his pomp.

But you are right they seem to destroy strikers, think Crespo, Shevchenko, Torres, Kezman, Mutu, Batshuay and Werner to name a few.

People were practically giving the title to Chelsea when they signed Lukaku.

Ah you're right Costa was actually a success, so many failures in recent years though!

Diego Costa looked like Mongo out of blazing saddles.

DirtyMic, a lot of people did that esp; in the media cos for the price and the whole "missing piece of the jigsaw" narrative for Chelsea whereas anyone who has been paying any attention to Lukaku and his play for the past 4/ 5 years could tell you that it would be a disaster esp. for a Chelsea team that are not fluid enuff in their play to create the clear cut chances needed for a guy as lazy and technical useless as Lukaku, to score.

Take a look at the BBC website from August 2021 how the top 4 would look. A lot of so called experts had Chelsea to win the league. Nobody gave Liverpool a chance. Chelsea signing Lukaku was the last piece of the jigsaw. Also Man U signing Varane, Sancho and the last piece of their jigsaw Ronaldo.

I saw plenty on here too OliRed. I am no expert on the game but it seemed like an over reaction to me at the time.

There are some things far larger than football and, with events over the past 24 hours, misfiring strikers are the least of any worries.

{Ed025's Note - misfiring being the operative word juicer, scary times mate..

DirtyMic, don’t even get me started on the absolute rush being posted on here after the Lukaku and Ronaldo deals went thru. The reaction was pretty desperate with people losing their marbles and stuff. Pretty pathetic, really.

For me, I just laughed cos I knew what was coming. Ronaldo would flop hard while Lukaku would be well, the same Lukaku we had grown to live and laugh at since his Neverton days. I also knew it wouldn’t work at Chelsea cos they don’t play the way Inter played where everything was built for and around Lukaku and he really didn’t have to do that much. Not surprised on both fronts.

Don’t lads. Just leave the lukaku Ridicule until after Sunday. It would be typical of Fate for Big Rom to have the game of his life vs us.

Hey Juicer, we all appreciate world affairs and the impending doom but can this be the 1 x place we can all escape to without worrying about being reduced to a pile of radioactive ash?

Lol, I’d like to talk about Oligarchs but it seems people are more outraged about Zouma and his cat.

I can't hear Costa's name without thinking about Hendo making him back down with just a look. Thug Life!
