So today is a huge game and one we can win, hopefully we have our finishing boots on, i love this group of players but we need more trophies, one league, one CL and a world trophy is not enough, I believe this group should be good enough to win multiple leagues and cups and don't want it wasted and under achieve, let's start today, there is obviously a feud in the Chelsea camp, so come on reds let's do it, and start our march today.

We are a great team, maybe even the best 11 in the League but certainly not the best group of 20 or so. Its a bit disrespectful to City to say we should have won more Leagues, they are also a great team and a far better squad, which of course you need over the course of a season. For me Klopp has worked miracles given the quality outside his core group. I would love to win another PL or CL with him, hopefully this season but City are a formidable team in this season and the CL CAN come down to a few bad performances, which any team can suffer. We shouldn't be so entitled to think we deserve it tho.

Spot on IR. City's squad depth is hard to compete with over the length of a season.

Brilliant post, IR. The self entitled behaviour from some of People seem to think that cos we have bodied City to win the PL and CL suddenly means we are at their level. News flash: We are NOT are prolly never have been. City have always had the better squad, the better players, more money than us over the past decade. That is just a fact. The only thing they currently don’t have is the better manager pound for pound, and that’s just my opinion.

IMO, The reason we have been successful against them is due to the sheer brilliance, tactical and man management acumen of Jurgen Norbert Klopp and the special crop of players he has assembled. FSG also played a blinder in trusting him completely in spite of his numerous tapping up

“1 Pl and 1 CL is not enuff”. And How where we supposed to win more when it took Klopp 3 years at least to fix the absolute mess BR left him and get the funding required to build this team from scratch while Pep was busy spending hundreds of millions on the City squad, something we have NO ability to do? For me, the fact that Klopp is the only manager to win the PL and CL other than Fergie with a shoestring budget in comparison, is a blessing and fills me with pride until we can add to our trophy haul under him.

Agree fully - top post there by IR. Some very good points. For me, though, it begs the question, how long does this continue? The PL right now is basically a 1 team set up as far as winning the English trophies is concerned, with the very odd exceptions like us and Leicester. City have the squad to go for every trophy, and invariably succeed.

They will always outspend every other team right now, so I cannot see this momentum changing too much in the short to medium term.

The situation with Newcastle will probably start to change things down the line, and that just pushes every other team down a notch.

Those 2 clubs can afford to keep throwing money at every window until they are so far ahead of everyone else it could become boring.

I think the way our great club is run is admirable, but how will we all feel, honestly, if City (and potentially Newcastle), dominate for years to come with no end in sight?

Today, we face another mega bucks team who won everything before City were taken over by Qatar. There squad is I feel, stronger in depth than ours, and I think that will show today when we find out what kind of a team we are able to field.

That’s why you invest and replenish in your squad year on year to maintain a healthy challenge. We don’t do that unfortunately.
