What a game yesterday no doubt, but surely at 3-2 up you go a lot more negative, how does a 3 on 1 on the back post on Trent happen with 5 mins to go, surely you bring an extra defender or secure midfield, we played well but need to adapt to how the game is going.

Yeah you’ve got to question the in game management at that point, we brought on firmino to go even more attacking with a 4-2-3-1 and I think it was a mistake. Easy to say with hindsight but you could see, with the way the game was going, that Brentford could easily nick another and even almost nicked the winner. We were a shambles at the back all game, it was almost as bad as villa last year. Brilliant game for the neutral, but yet again, Liverpool failing to capitalise on rivals dropping points when we play after them. I wonder if we will be able to win the title even with genuine adversity from some of the others, and not just complete capitulation from everyone except us like during 19-20. Whatever happens it’s going to be a mad one this year, we have to improve at the back if we stand any chance against city.

{Ed001's Note - are you deluded? Have you seen how many points City got the year we won it? Complete capitulation my arse. They only got 5 more points winning the whole thing last time out.}

Last few years people on here have been giving off abt klopp bring a defender on late in the match, now he should be doing it, which is it?

Brentford were clever by overloading the back post but that should have been spotted by players/ management earlier and sorted, trent needed help from the midfield 3 at the back post but it did not happen even after 80 odd minutes.

Fair play to Brentford but on another day pool don't play as bad and it's a game we win, this result will hopefully make the players lift their game for the City match to get the win. YNWA.

I thought this was a game that Milner would have done a good job helping to protect the defence and keep the lead. Those are the times you need his experience and versatility.

As bad as Villa last season?! Slight overreaction chum!

Agreed, Klopp messed up it was a game for Milner. How Firmino comes on instead of Milner I will never understand.

The 3 players at the back post on Trent was a tactic Brentford used more than once in the game. He needed help which he didn't get.

Kman, saying we crushed the league in 19/ 20 cos everyone else was crap/ capitulated is something I expect from a sore loser rival fan, not from a self proclaimed Liverpool fan. You’re better than that and it’s embarrassing.

Also Even if we won yesterday, we would only be 3 points ahead of City, Chelsea and Utd after SIX games in Sept for heavens sake. 3 points clear at the top after 6 games means nothing.

I’m mad we didn’t win yesterday and frankly, we didn’t deserve it BUT no need to get all fatalistic and most importantly start using rival fan sore loser rhetoric to support your point. It was a bad day at the office. We improve and move on. Tone down the OTT reactions.

It was far from just Trents fault. Fabs had one of his worst games and it was Matips job to win those headers. Brentford are probably the best in the league at set pieces and winning headers in the box. Phillips was needed in the last 10 minutes.

Disappointed with our experienced players and coaches yesterday. It was clear that they were constantly overloaded us and we didn't change anything to try and remedy it.

As Klopp always says, let's take on the information and move onto the next game.

I started going to Liverpool matches over 60 years ago, when I was that young I can’t even remember being there. I can remember games from more than 50 years ago but after the absolute debacle and utter shame of a draw at Brentford I think I will stop supporting the club immediately.

Of course we have a God given right to beat everybody and of course teams who have just been promoted to the league that we are in should understand that it is out right to win and that they should just roll over and let us stroll through the game and take all 5he points.

For God’s sake all that we we ask is that anyone ‘pilling on the shirt’ should consistently put on a world class display, where the definition of world class depends upon the whim of fickle, and some times mis-informed and very often uninformed fans, who reserve the right to re-define world class 2 or 3 times during a match and definitely after a match when the “let’s overthink tank’ gets going.

Brentford have the makings of a lower / mid-table PL team. At the moment they are being buoyed up by some reasonable form, the fans when they play at home and the excitement of making it to the PL.

We appeared out of sorts, Robbo hasn’t been his best this season and despite playing ok so far, 3 of our back 4 are still coming back from a year off (and my didn’t we whine when they weren’t playing) . We also got a bit bullied by a team who came to give it a go and had a plan, they also stuck at it and were good for their point.

We would, as fans, liked to have all three points, some of us thought we only had to turn up to pick up the three points, but we only got one. Actually we got one point and a whole lot of knee-here reaction about players who were on the pitch and players who weren’t and also about future matches (which, in my honest opinion will be completely different styles of games and will feature different conditions, atmosphere and players) .

The platers are humans, not machines and humans make mistakes and have off days and the only exception appears to be some of the critics on here who appear never to have made a mistake in their life.

3 - 3, a cracking game, end to end, good football from both sides, a point away from home against a fired up opposition (even if it was our worst game in the last 60 years) and us at the top of the table on a run of 16 PL games without loss ….

Hang on, I might just carry on watching for a little bit longer to see were we get to and just pass on the hysterical reactions.

Nice autocorrects there ‘pilling’ was pulling ‘knee here’ was knee jerk although that one gave me a laugh and a couple of ideas and the ‘players’ are, of course, players. Anyway, other than that I stick by what I said.
