It's still very early and no team can be judged at this stage in my opinion but who actually believes we'll win the league? Anybody? I know I do. I think with the fans back it's really helped us out not to mention our injured players back in the team, it's ours for the taking. I don't think we'll go ahead and steam roll the league but I do believe we'll win it this time around, I just think it'll be a very close one.

{Ed014's Note - you are my favourites for the title this year Salah.

Am like eds1 and I don’t make predictions in case we get jinxed. What I do know is it will probably come down to the last game of the season. it’s going to be rollercoaster of a season.

I agree Salah. I like our chances to win the league and Champions League as well.

Yeah I think it’s between us and city.
United and Chelsea to follow.

I do wonder about City. With Pep's recent tantrum, I wonder whether, if they don't kick on in the next few games, they may be in a battle for the minor places?

I see Chelsea as our biggest challenge this year. Tuchel is a decent coach who has had a year+ with his players and they have bought well. Outside of us and City they seem to have the most balanced squad. If City so slide, it will be a confidence/ manager issue, not a squad issue.

{Ed002's Note - Tuchel has not had a year+ with the players.}

I said that at the very beginning that we'll win the league and/ or the Champions League, and I stand by it. There's a quiet efficiency going on at Liverpool right now and it will take some time before people and pundits will recognize it. The only caveat is major, major injuries.
Let's hope that doesn't happen.
Walk on. YNWA.

We are very capable of winning this league. Whether we do though isn’t as straight forward an answer for me. Whoever wins it (hopefully us) will definitely have to work for it and have that little rub of the green in terms of factors you cannot influence.

All depends on how lucky we are with injuries. One injury to Van Dijk or Salah and it’s all over. If our first 11 can stay relatively fit/ fresh we could win it.

I agree stone to a certain extent (good to see you on here btw mate) . I definitely believe we'll win the league and I also think we'll go far in the cl, can we win it? With this team anything is possible, bring them all on mate.

I think 10 PTS will split the top 3/ 4 mid to high 80's, rollercoaster season coming up.

I pray we can do it, not least because winning it in the midst of a C.V. denied the fans the proper opportunity to celebrate it in the Liverpool way, here’s hoping!

Ah sorry, Ed002, it does feel he's been around for ages but its only around 9 months!

I do think he has got the players playing very well and Chelsea, in such a short period of time, though. A lot also depends on whether Lukaku can keep his form up all season.

{Ed002's Note - They are in a happy place right now and have seen success. They have plans for some changes going forward and they hope the success continues.}

I’ve been banging that very same drum all summer Salah. If you cut through the transfer window hysteria and judge the state of each team objectively then i think it’s us and Chelsea looking in the best shape, hands down. I think it’ll be a very close race but i think the Reds will come out on top. I know it’s only five games in but there are early signs that my predictions are coming to fruition; Liverpool and Chelsea look almost flawless, United getting through games by the skin of their teeth (surely that can’t last) and City looking vulnerable to dropping silly points already, points that maybe they would have collected had they replaced David Silva and Aguero properly.

I just don’t know how you can look past us at the moment. This is absolutely not the same squad that won the league, it has only gotten better. Players like Salah and Alisson have never looked as good as they do right now, there are a lot of new bodies in there that make the squad look much stronger. One other thing that not many people seem to have mentioned is how Klopp and Ljinders have pushed the envelope of tactical innovation yet again. I know we’ve always been good at set pieces but we look as though we’re going to score every one we put in at the moment, the players are so well drilled and there is a cohesive plan for all occasions. Also, players are running from deep more often and with more variety to baffle and confuse opponents, creating lots of space. Two such examples would be Mane’s goal against Burnley, where Trent comes inside to draw the man away, and Salah’s goal against Leeds, where Matip strolled into the box and then played the ball out to Trent who then squared it. Even the midfielders are finally starting to gamble on getting into the box, and when they’re not in the box they are confident enough to take shots from distance. We look like the complete package at the moment and if we can keep this up for the whole season then i’d be fearful for everybody else. This is a standard of football i haven’t seen from Liverpool before.
