Beautifully written Tris, brought a tear to my eye.

I don't know how to feel about his death yesterday. On the one hand still frustrated that such an active, energetic and flamboyant man, who would hopefully have developed into a popular and charismatic coach, had spent more than half his life in a vegetative state due to immense neglect.

On the other hand, I can't even begin to imagine how he must have felt for those (close to) 40 years when life past him by.

What unfulfilled potential.

What sadness, and yet joy at his devoted wife and family.

What a waste.

Credit to his wife as well, basically stayed by his side for 40 years. Must have been incredibly difficult, particularly when learning of the meager sentences delivered to those responsible.
