Prem football is back! The atmosphere is incredible. I can't wait for tomorrow night.

Btw, Brentford will be like Palace away. Loud and in your face. the place is rocking.

If you're ever feeling down about lack of investment etc., remember things could always be worse - we could be Arsenal. :D.

{Ed025's Note - kick a team when they are down SR....i like that.. :)

Going to be a long season for the gunners. A short season for Arteta though.
I hope our players watched that game though, no easy games in the Prem, we won’t win Norwich by simply turning up.

The old Brentford ground was a good place to go to, had a pub on every corner of the ground.

{Ed0666's Note - I lived walking distance from the old Brentford ground for years and was a steward there for a while, I was kind of dating the stewards manager at the time and she used to give me all the plum jobs, players lounge, outside the changing rooms etc, they were plum jobs for a steward at 19 anyway 😂. Happy days they were. And you’re right Victor there were an unusual high amount of pubs in the vicinity. (Brentford/South Ealing). Did you live there also or were you a visiting fan mate?

Used to work for SmithKline Beecham (as they were then) in the early 1990’s in a glorified portacabin under the M4 flyover. Just around the corner from Griffin Park.

Used to drop in one of the pubs on the corner of the ground - can’t remember it’s name anymore - but was great craich. A certain Stan Bowles was a regular with his whippets and he was nearly as good a story teller as footballer.

{Ed0666's Note - I used to know 2-3 people that worked in that Smithkline Beacham as medical reps mate. They used to have such a fancy life with their lovely new cars and expense accounts I was proper jealous.

I was in the IT department Ed, lived in Slough at the time and worked under a flyover at the end of the M4 - not for me the life of fast cars and international models mate 🙂🤭.

{Ed0666's Note - I know slough so well mate. Had friends that lived there, ate so many kebabs and curries there, went to Langley college, lived in Windsor for a while. so you must have lived right near the copthorne hotel?

My brother in law lived in Langley worked at the Iveco plant.

We actually lived in Cippenham, a couple of miles to the west of Slough but it’s always easier to Slough. Same as when people ask where you from Liverpool is easier than West Derby.

We have 4 boys and our two youngest were born in Wexham Park. We were there for about 3 years late 91 to early 95 and then moved to Bicester as I’d got a job in Oxford.

Used to stagger down the A4 on a Friday night and always ended up with 2 or 3 half eaten kebabs by the time I found home 😁.

{Ed0666's Note - bloody hell that’s a blast from the past wexham park hospital. Does you’re wife do at you to the outlet shopping in Biceeter mate? 😂

Ed0666. travel all the way around the world and i find an old neighbour from Ealing! Sister lived down the road from Brentford ground, used to get free tickets to Griffin Park and Loftus Road as a kid. my Manor growing up! ;-) as for Stan bowles what a legend, used to place bets in the bookies my dad managed during the home games at half time!

{Ed0666's Note - you grew up In shepherds bush mate?

Have travelled a bit more since Bicester Ed - they were just building the outlet shopping village when we left - since then we have lived in Portsmouth, Leiden in Holland and Sydney out in Oz since 1999. Up until C.V. we got back every couple of year to visit family and stuff and the missus has made us stop off at Bicester for the shopping once or seven times 😉.

{Ed0666's Note - watching Liverpool play in aus must have been fun. I remember watching Joe Cole’s debut for us against Arsenal in Sydney years ago when he got sent off and it was on at stupid ‘o’ clock
