Anyone in the academy close to promotion into the first team Ed's?

{Ed002's Note - There is another step between the Academy and the first team they would need to take. A draw against Hartlepool in the League Cup may get a run out for two or three.}

Yeah the U23s squad are all very young atm, but there's definitely some promising talent in the academy. You just have to look at the youngsters selected to go to the Austria camp with the senior squad, they were picked for a reason. Probably not ready for senior football this coming season, but GK: Pitaluga (18), H. Davies (17), DEF: Bradley (18), Beck (18), MID: Clarkson (19), Cain (19), Morton (18), FWD: Musialowski (17), Gordon (16) are the next to come through. Then there's a few stepping up from the U18s like Balagizi, Fraeundorf, Cannonier etc. But none ready for the senior squad. Hopefully Glatzel and the others will have a good season on loan. He's playing in a friendly vs Sunderland as I write this.

I forgot Koumetio of course who's said himself he's learning loads and I've a good feeling Konate can be his Big Bro.
Layton Stewart's injury is tragic, James Norris is another promising left-back. We've some more high-caliber 16-17 year olds like Woltman, Mabaya, Bajcetic and of course Bobby Clark on his way in. But obviously it's very difficult to know how far young players will develop. I mean, we thought Ojo would be da bomb when we signed him for a cool two million back in 1976 while he was still nappies. ;)

Hopefully Musialowski gets a few minutes in one of the friendlies like Gordon, who's been very good. Was impressed with Frauendorf whenever i seen him last year, young Mabaya too.
