To ed001 like you i've been a fan of Saul a very long time and always thought him a genuine pipe dream. I know you said that if you could have chosen a defender it would be Konate and we got him, I imagine that Saul is the midfielder you would have added?

My other question is this, a player in the forward position you would add if you could? Generally seems to be the consensus that we wanted to add a CB, CM, and another forward going into this window so interested to know who you would go for and interesting to see if the club agree.

No cop out answer like giving Elliot or Minamino the nod, just have a bit of fun and give a name! Me personally quite like the “surprise” idea of Insigne but again seems highly unlikely. Thanks for all your work anyway!

I would love to see Elliott given the nod, but as that choice is ruled out, even though that is my preferred option, I will say Pedri is the dream or Raphinha. An outside choice would be Neres of Ajax.}

We almost signed him after missing out on Salah under Rodgers apparently. He was on loan at Rayo Vallecano at the time.

The fact we’re even in the conversation for Saul is good. That would be a hell of a transfer.

I’ve heard some compare Elliott’s skill set with Eden Hazard, in that he’s got exceptional ball control, his dribbling skills are top notch, he’s deceptively quick but not lightning quick, he can pick a pass, shoot, he’s strong for his size, hard to knock off the ball, excellent decision making, but unlike Hazard he works hard. The boy could go far,

Harvey Elliott was 17 for most of last season and started 2/ 3 of Blackburn’s games and had the second most assists in the entire league. VVVV is clearly overreaching comparing him to Hazard but at the same time Ed025 is being a typical bitter blue trying to downplay how talented Elliott is.

{Ed025's Note - i just fail to get all the hype thunderbird, hes a young guy who has not really achieved much but has potential and thats it, he could turn out to be a very good player or could end up at accrington in a couple of years we just dont know mate, good luck to the guy i say but i dont think he needs the weight of expectation on his shoulders at this stage personally..

To be far Ed025, the OP dud specify in the question that he was looking for players who play similarly stylistically. For example, Richarlison is similar to Mane in terms of style, but only has about a quarter of the ability.
