Barry, I told you. Rafa is going to need all the luck and goodwill from REDS fans with some of Never-Win-Anything lot. Oh sorry, "The People's Club". Insert eyeroll here.

{Ed025's Note - why would reds want an opposing manager do well oli?, hes not one of your own now as you bin bagged him years ago, i have to be honest i want klopp to fall flat on his face every time you play, thats not bitterness thats rivalry mate..

Don’t know about that Ed025. I want Rafa to do well because he is a good man i want him to be happy. My love for Rafa is stronger than my dislike for Everton, which honestly isn’t that strong at all. I often go to Goodison with my grandad and i’d sooner see Everton win things rather than any of the other rival clubs, at least it keeps it interesting and makes the city a more exciting place to live, both economically and in footballing terms. It’s so much more fun when both teams are competitive, the derbies in 2013/ 14 a clear example of this. That season was immensely entertaining and engaging not just because of the amazing football Liverpool played, but because Everton were playing as well as they had in decades. You could have real banter with bluenoses and the derbies were as tense and as competitive as anything. When Everton are playing rubbish it just isn’t the same, it either turns into a drubbing or a boring draw snd nobody seems to care as much.

Most Everton supporters certainly don’t share this sentiment and they’re known as ‘The Bitters’ for a reason, but i’d still rather a competitive rivalry than a boring one. Besides, maybe if Rafa wins them some trophies they’ll stop being as delusional and bitter, maybe they’ll become better people under his guidance😉.

{Ed025's Note - not all of us are bitter AW and i must admit i love the rivalry and banter that goes with it, unfortunately all clubs have their dick head element and we have seen some of ours come to the fore recently, still nowhere near the amount you lot have got though mate.. :)

I got to meet Rafa, seemed a nice chap. I hope he does well for them. As long as we do better!
He'll need that thick skin though, the knives were out for him before the ink had dried on his contract.
And he won't be tainting his reputation with Liverpool in the slightest. How can ANYTHING taint Istanbul?

Personally I hope he’s a bridge to renew the friendly rivalry. Pipe dream probably but there’s always hope. I have no problem wishing Everton well except against us.
