See we've got permission to upgrade the anfield road end but haven't actually committed to building it yet.

60 million seems a lot for only 7000 more seats but I suppose the Anfield Rd end needs an over hall at so point. We are skint at the min so I guess it will be in a few years if at all.

I have 99% confidence that it will get done.
There are two sides to having American owners.
One is the dynamic, get things done side.
They unlocked a 30 years old conundrum in developing Anfield and will see its completion, I’m sure.
The other is maybe impetuousness perhaps in pushing for the ESL at an inappropriate time.
It could well happen anyway, but what do you do if what was going to happen and you were going to miss out?
It’ll be fascinating to see how UEFA handles the three clubs holding out.

Wow I didn’t realise we were starting it already. Fair play!

Would of been great to get it done while fans weren't allowed on stadiums but hopefully a bigger stadium means better opportunities for fans to get into matches.

They are already digging up roads etc it’ will be quality when it’s finished!
Twice I was in the Annie end and behind a poxy beam for both!
Good luck to them.

Looks like we have got permission to hold 6 major events at Anfield per year as well which will help pay for the expansion 👌🏻.

Longthing, if you factor in the 60 million for 7,000 seats you get your money back in approximately 7-8 years (some rudimentary calculations I made) . It may be sooner if you include ticket price increases (they're inevitable) and the 6 events per year you mentioned. And there are, of course other (minor) revenues that come through along with the ticket sales.

You can look at it in two ways, I think. You can look at it as FSG's commitment to the club and growing the club organically to reach higher numbers of the target audience. This after just declaring a 50 million loss for last year, and definitely a much greater loss for this year, that will be announced next March. Supporters don't look enough at these facts.

And you can also look at it as "fattening the goose up" to become more attractive for either a club sale or moving into other leagues, whichever those maybe. A larger stadium always adds value to your balance sheet. I prefer to think it is the first option, but will not be surprised if it's the second. But in the end, it's a win win situation, as far as I can see.
