Good read thanks. Why did we lose nearly all the medical department in 2020?

{Ed001's Note - that is a good question and something I am unsure about, lots of hints being dropped by those that left, but no clear reasoning. It does seem to be a mistake though.}

Hi ed, do you know why the medical department was completely overhauled? Seems a bit strange to do that right after two immense seasons.

{Ed001's Note - I don't mate, I was trying to find out after someone on here (sorry I forget who) mentioned about a new guy coming in from somewhere else who was being blamed for our injuries. It is clear there was some kind of issue that led to the dept being dismantled and one guy was even put on what was termed a "special project" for last season.

Three physios left, Jose Luis Rodriguez, Richie Partridge joined the Qatari national team and Christopher Rohrbeck returned home to Germany. Rodriguez has since said that he wouldn't return unless a lot changed, hinting at problems within the camp.

The head of medical, Andy Massey, went off to take up a role at FIFA and it was Medical Rehabilitation and Performance Manager Phil Jacobsen who saw out last year in Germany on "special projects", whatever that means.

It is worrying.}

Good review Ed001 but I must say for me the medical department is a big worry.

It is worrying hearing of these hints etc that things aren't 100% within the infrastructure. Performing on the pitch is one thing, but how are the players expected to perform if we have issues with the medical staff etc. Can't be good at all in the long term.

Curious Eds whether you know any other large sides have ever had similar problems? City and certainly Leicester appear like their internal staff are pretty happy and the organisations are running well.

Doesn’t sound great about the pt dept.
Tris I remember a poster a couple of wks ago saying about the Arsenal physios all the injuries they had and then they joined us and bang injury galore is this related do u think or am I way off?

Wasn’t he a decent player with a real chance of getting into the first team?

I think many people suspected all the injuries could be related to medical team negligence, but just couldn't believe Liverpool would allow itself to get itself in that position.

Surely this will be looked at and rectified. Another season of the same then it will have to be.

I think we must delve deeper into the details. How many of those injuries came about theough impact and how many through red zone injuries.

Vvd for example wasnt the medical department.

I agree with all of you though. The infrastructure is key. However, the year before I don't believe we had a single injury to anyone significant to the first team (everyone plays a huge part) I mean the big boys.

Then this year. Is there a chance Klopp got wrapped up in the frustration of the schedule and didn't put more effort into rest/ rotation like he should of.
