Is there any chance (or plan) to transition TAA into the mid? I know it might seem crazy to move him out of RB but maybe a RB would be easier to find than a mid? Either way, I think he'd do really well next to Thiago/ Hendo. I'm curious if anyone else is thinking the same or has info on his situation.

{Ed025's Note - he sees himself as a future midfielder snuggerpool, myself i think he should stay where he is..

This subject has been raised so many times and there is no chance he is moving. Far to good in his position to move I think but guess we will never know until he plays there.

If neco proves himself maybe he can force a change for Trent? I guess at the moment, moving Trent to midfield will mean buying a right back.

OP, done to death, man. Trent is staying put at RB for the foreseeable future. In any case, why move him to a new position when he is killing it at his current position where he bosses games from?

If it ain't broke and all that.
We've just spent a whole season with players being played out of position, I'd prefer a season of stability before any experimenting!

Forget the number on his back. He already spends much of a game beyond the halfway line, takes corners and free-kicks, often pops up in the box and chips in with the odd winner. Sounds like a midfielder to me! It's modern football. Don't worry if you can't get your head round it- neither can Gareth Southgate ;)

Moving TAA into midfield it's not easy as U think neither he will be effective as playing RB for us atm

Playing at RB in our system gives TAA lots of space from our box to opposition box and he can affect games with he's quality.

Playing him in midfield will be wasted coz won't have much space and will be easily crowded with opposition players.

We don't have to worry what Southgate or he's staff think abt TAA. We just have to be happy he has been Unbelievable for US playing at RB.

Southgate is safety 1st manager, always has been that's not our problem if he wants to Play defensive football despite having lots of attacking talent.

If he's more worried abt Trents defensive awareness then he's end product to the likes of kane, Rashford, sterling etc then he's not going to last more. U need to take some risks if you want to win bigger prizes. I'm sure the likes of kane, Rashford, sterling etc will want those deliveries put by TAA.

{Ed0666's Note - I’m not sure you’re theory is conclusive mate. Good players adapt and somebody with trents ability surely can. Look at Beckham he had a fabulous & decorated career with mediocre talent but worked really hard. Trent is twice the player Beckham was and moving to RM I’m sure would be meat and drink for him. I truly hope he doesent tho because replacing him at wing back is near enough impossible and gonna be ridiculously expensive. Although I like the look of Walker -Peters who I’ll be watching out for next season.

Ed mate I don't see Beckham playing midfield in today's time. Today is all abt covering the ground running, working to keep the ball then looping it consistently from midfield.

Even box to box midfielders are rare in today's time it's all abt technicality and passing the ball rather then running from deep tho. Football has changed a lot with young and current managers.

{Ed0666's Note - With respect mate Beckham did an insane amount of work off the ball that’s why fergie loved him so much. He certainly made the most of his limited ability but boy could he cross a football.

TAA crossing is just as good if not better than DB.

Personally think Beckham is massively under rated, would put him above Scholes for me, because he left United as he did he doesn't get a mention. Best English midfielder United have had in the Prem Era.

Indeed, Ed666. Becks was a workhorse off the ball and did some serious hard running and graft for Utd esp in their pomp. Limited ability, technically? Yes, I agree BUT he could bend a ball around a tornado and that took some doing. TAA is twice the player Becks was and is just as good at bending a ball as Becks was. But Trent can do a whole lot more esp from deep hence, he should stay at RB. I also like your shout of Walker-Peters from Saints. One to watch for and seems to be one of the very few fullbacks who can keep Mane in check.
