Although our squad's age is not that high (26.8 years old), the average age of players used for the season was 28. That's the third highest in the League. ManC's average age of players used was 24. Leeds, which is a team on the rise, had an average age of 23 for players used.

I'm not saying footballers can't play at 28. But I'm saying Klopp has 3 more years on his contract and he surely wants to go out on a high. I have my doubts that he can do it with an ageing squad. So that's why I expect a lot of movement for players to come in and out of the squad for this summer. Not just specific positions but to look at defense, midfield and attack as a whole, for the next 3-5 years. Yes, finances and financial environment aren't exactly favorable, but then it's the same situation for all teams. It's actually the ideal time to start working on it. I doubt Guardiola will be around much longer. Who else is there, after him? So there is an opening for LFC to dominate for some time, if it's managed properly.

Sorry I’m confused, where is the opening to dominate for some time?

Age is only a number, I don't get too wrapped up in it personally. Unless all our players were in their 30s then I would be asking questions.
I'm a believer in experience and I think we have a good mix pretty much.
If we sold Shaq this Summer and replaced him with Elliot then that alone reduces the overall squad age by approx 6 months. If Gini goes and we don't replace him, or with someone younger, then that also reduces it as well.

I don’t see Pep going anywhere for a long time and feel he wants to build a legacy at city (where else would he go that’s better funded with a better structure? ) plus all teams aren’t in the same financial boat eg city and Chelsea.

"I have my doubts that he can do it with an ageing squad" I'm a little bit confused at what you're getting at. We don't have a particularly old or ageing squad?

"I'm not saying footballers can't play at 28" that's good considering 26-32 is literally most players peak? Our core is currently hitting their peak and We're perfectly set up to compete for the remainder of Klopp's contract.

If you're worried about the post-Klopp era that might make a little more sense, but even then we're slowly bringing in the next generation in Jota, Jones and Elliot.

OP, context is needed here. Our best and most influential players like VVD, Thiago, Milner, Hendo and the starting front 3 are either in the 29 yr old - 30 year old bracket (Milner is 35 and STILL performing at the highest level) . For example, a guy like Keita who is 26 is a shambles compared to a guy like Milner who is 10 years his senior and still wrecking it yet we are keeping Milner and want to get rid of Keita. See where I'm going with this?

IMO, All these players I mentioned can still perform for us at the highest level so I agree that we should refresh the squad BUT not for the sake of bringing down the average age cos you still need the "Old Heads" in there to carry on the transition that you are asking for.
