If it is to be the Europa League for us, then so be it. As Klopp said, if there are any players who don't want to stay without Champions League, he doesn't want them to stay anyway.

Hopefully we can win some more silverware next season. I include whatever format of European football we are playing in that too.

I have a hunch we will only sign 4 players: Konate, Kabak, Bissouma/ De Paul and Traore/ Sarr. I really don't see a marquee signing being viable. I think a lot more resource will be invested in young players moving forward. The club has done extremely will to secure the likes of Elliott, Gordon, Pitaluga and Musialowski in the last few years. The likes of Clarkson, Cain, Balagizi, Beck, Koumetio etc are all ones for the future too.

Let's hope we can finish this season on a high and go again next year.

Have to say MK, Salah is making noises about wanting to leave (as is his agent), and if we were to sell Salah, which is reasonably foreseeable given the fact he has itchy feet, the vultures are circling and we have no champions league football, then Traore or Sarr would be a drop in quality of incalculable proportions as we’d be left in a position where we have no regular reliable goal scorers, and it’s not like we’re blessed with goals throughout the rest of the side.

You would think if salah did go, that the fee would be invested into higher quality replacement, surely they have contingencies in place for these situations. I would expect a serious bid to go in for sancho.

Might have contingencies in place but not having champions league football means sancho will not come anywhere near us.

I don't see Salah leaving. In the current market, can anybody afford €100-150m on a 29 year old?

If he does leave though then as Snoots says, that would finance a move for a marquee signing such as Sancho.

I honestly don't mind playing a season in the Europe League, its a great opportunity to give game time to some young players and see what they can do. Manchester United did that with Mason Greenwood and are now reaping the rewards.
I'd be excited to see the likes of Elliott, Musialowski, Balagizi and Koumetio given some minutes in the Europa League.

I agree Adam nobody is spending 100m on a 29 yo
I'm not sure any 'marquee signing ' will come to Liverpool without cl football. Probably best summer to sit tight then see if you can get back amongst the big boys by the end of next season and look to reshape the squad then. You have a few good young players there in jones elliot and the cb so with a few players back from injury there is a distinct possibility you could break back into the top 4 next season😏.

ONE SEASON without Champs Lge football though, its not like before Klopp came and we would have little chance of qualifying for the champions lge. When all the boys are back next year we will be back challenging for the league never mind worrying about top four. if a player can't look beyond the next 12 months then he's an idiot.

What noises is Salah making that show he wants to leave?
Has he made a statement that I've missed or is this just someone deciding to take things out of context as usual?
For as long as Salah has been at this club I've been reading how he's off to Barcelona or Madrid at the end of every season, and how every interview he gives or comment he makes is his way of screaming that he wants to go.
And yet he's still here and in the last couple of weeks has re-iterated his desire to stay.

Money is tight near everywhere in Europe right now so no one is going to be paying what we would want for Salah esp after another brilliant individual season. His agent can say whatever he wants. He doesn’t control a damn thing. I think Salah will stay and don’t be surprised if Mane does too.

As for incomings, I hope we do sign Bisouma and another midfielder and possible forward if possible. There will be no big signings either, I don’t think.

I’ve got no issues with us being in the Europa and lots of the youngsters and fringe players getting game time in it. My only problem is the thu/ sun schedule and the time Klopp is away from the first team prepping this team be it before a home game or travel to and from an away.

{Ed014's Note - that’s a crazy notion, your squad play as a squad with a system, everyone knows the system. Klopp won’t have to worry about anything.

If the shite that is Man Utd with that clown at the wheel can get into the top 4 and a Europa Dopa final then anyone can.

Next season will be back to normal with yourselves City and Chelsea fighting for the title, the rest fighting for 4th.

Ed014 what I mean mate is if Klopp is out in Ie Ukraine on a wed/ thu travelling back Friday then are the likes of Salah, Vvd, Hendo etc going to be out there as well or back at the training ground. For home games surely the team will be doing team runs on the wed in prep.

{Ed014's Note - I get that JK but I’m certain it’s not going to be a problem with the quality of your squad and manager.

He’ll will no doubt play a mix of first team and squad/youngsters, they all train together and it will only be a few not involved each week.

MK, Salah’s agent has apparently been talking to various parties (including press and clubs), particularly PSG. And they probably would offer £100m or so as their owners are quite keen on having a high profile Arabic player in their team, and they’ll be particularly keen if Mbappe makes the expected move to Madrid. If he does leave I seriously doubt our ability to adequately replace him given the mess the club is in financially and not being in the champions league.

13.) 12 May 2021
12 May 2021 19:13:12
Remember that Man United signed Pogba when they weren't in the Champions league. Man City signed Tevez. It is not the deciding factor for a lot of players. Money talks. Players get 5% of the transfer fee so if we went and offered Dortmund £100m for him, would he really say "no" to a £5m signing on fee and probably doubling his wages?

{Ed002's Note - You have this horribly wrong. The 5% is if he does not request a transfer and is paid by the selling club from what they get from the buying club paying the transfer fee. Additionally is a signing on fee paid by the buying - and in the case of Sancho the add on figures last season with agent fees and signing on fee were vast - truly vast.}

Wasn't trying to be accurate Ed002. Just highlighting how much money players make when they change club and why that can over rule a lack of Champions League football.

{Ed002's Note - Typically the better players want to play at the highest level.}
