I’ve read the new CL format and it’s a joke!
I think this ESL is better there is room for other clubs to get in your Leicester etc!

Gary Neville may wake up this morning with a lot of others after jumping the gun thinking they wanted out of the league (me too) and had a rant it’s totally different and he might want to back track!

People need to read what they have said they want uefa involved etc!
Change was coming and it’s arrived!

{Ed001's Note - both are terrible ideas. That is the point. They are both the result of pushes from the richest clubs to create a closed shop to ensure they stay the richest clubs.} Become a Patron!

Agreed Ed, I for one want absolutely nothing to do with it and i have been supporting the club for over 40 years now trough all the ups and downs if this happens my support not my love for the club will sadly end.

It’s all about money I know Ed but the new CL format is rubbish it’s another europa league!

I’m just glad it’s not a break away league that they left domestic leagues! I can cool me jets now lol

And good morning mate 👍🏼.

{Ed001's Note - but they would be breaking away, no matter what they say.}

How many times in the last 15 years has a team outside the big six qualified for the champions league? I can only think of once when Leicester won the league. I’m not saying I agree with either of the new suggested formats but is it not already a naturally closed shop?

{Ed001's Note - no it's not, as you said Leicester have qualified, which they wouldn't under the new format.}

And why would that be the case Jaydee? in a few years all the clubs would eventually join the Superleague coz that is where the money is. Sky and BT are annoyed coz they shall lose money, money they were milking out of the clubs since 1992. stop this sympathy towards them. football has evolved and it will continue to do so. something will replace this format in another 20 years' time. UEFA introduced the nations league for what? TO MILK MORE F******* MONEY.

The special thing about the Champions League is that you play elite teams from other leagues once in a while. If it becomes a regular affair, then such fixtures would lose their shine.

It would be really boring seeing the same teams every single year irrespective of how they perform.

Plus, now teams won't even have to work for their positions in the league as they cannot be relegated.

NRed, 15 years ago we had the Big 4 - Arsenal, Chelsea, United, Liverpool. Now, we have the top 6 with Arsenal dropping out because they haven't performed well for a long time.

Under the new system, this will NEVER change irrespective of how a team performs.

Ed when the Premiership was announced was there similar opposition to it as we r seeing now with this new breakaway league?

{Ed002's Note - Not really - Greg Dyke was effectively behind the idea and it was all about the money that could be made through broadcast rights.}
