If this super League is nothing more than a champions League replacement then I could have accepted it if it wasn't for the teams involved.
Are Arsenal an Elite club? Arguably not even top 10 in England.
United aren't in the Champs league.
Tottenham may finish 6th or lower this year.
I'm pretty sure AC Milan haven't been an elite team for a long time.

This is all just abit embarrassing that a few teams have decided that they are elite when the majority lack any evidence of it!

Elite by money not by ranking.

Arsenal FC has more fan following than Liverpool FC. it's about popularity and nothing more.

In fairness we hadn't done much for a long time until the last 3 years. Based on that arguement someone like Porto, for example, win their national league frequently and have had champions league success in the last 20 years amd should be just as viable for it as us, Arsenal, Man Utd and Spurs.
Akira is right, it's based upon money and marketability, and as part of a club which has maintained its stance as a club 'for the people', I'm embarrassed to call myself a fan this morning.
I've been a big fan of FSG. They've built a relatively decent business model which has increased the value of the club significantly and isn't based upon a risky 'sugar daddy' type model like City, PSG or Chelsea.
For me, this is final nail in the coffin of football being a sport and the love of the game, and not a business for profit. It probably passed a long time ago but there was always that hope.

Lads read the new champs league format for 2024!
Over 250 games in it! Apart from greed and power I can see why they want out!
Doesn’t harm domestic leagues by them leaving there is room for others to get in on merit etc!
Lot of people have jumped the gun need to read what they have said about the ESL!
