Hi eds, I guess more questions rather than answerea with the proposed ESL. Would it not ever be possible for fans that object to and hold protest so the owners sell the club.

Secondly, if we are banned from the prem along with the other teams how are the worlds best players supposed to play against each other assumimg they would be banned from signing players from the league they were in and and as rivals in the same new league won't sell each other players.

Thank you.

{Ed002's Note - Well unless there is another infraction nobody is going }to look to sanctions like that.

Of course there is. The answer is that we simply do not attend the games. I felt as though a walk out protest over VAR was coming but this has completely changed everything. The fans need to stand together and stand for the values of the city, the club and the sport as whole. We wax lyrical about You’ll Never Walk Alone and our heritage, now its time to put our money where our mouth is.

I’m willing to stick my neck out and say that if this goes ahead I will simply go and support my local team, Marine. The ideals that i thought Liverpool Football Club stood for will be dead. Many in the city will do the same. But if we bend over backwards for them and let them off with punishment then the sport will be destroyed and following them will by pointless.

I agree with you, wooly, but for me the damage is already done. Even if the club doesn't wind up joining the Super league, it'll only be because of the fan outrage, so it's still a commercial decision. They've shown their true colours. At the end of the day, I support football and the community. It's over.

{Ed0666's Note - I agree I’m not sure FSG survive this particular fan lead backlash. I personally feel this is the beginning of the end for them.

Then don't give up! This is the time to support each other and the real ideals of football, stand tall this club has survived far worse than John Henry .

Why is this considered worse for fans? Travelling to one of these major European cities for an away game as opposed to traveling to some Ukrainian warzone for a champions league fixture. UEFA and fifa have shown themselves to be horrible, corrupt organisations over the years. Why are people surprised that clubs want to move Away from them.

{Ed001's Note - because they are not interested in fixing corruption, only in lining their pockets. No sport has ever prospered and improved when the competitors involved make the rules. You only have to look at the way F1 was destroyed by the teams themselves choosing the rules they raced under and how it has been transformed by having a new owner who is setting the rules. Competitors are all about self-interest, just as this idea is. As for travelling to 'some Ukrainian warzone', an extremely narrowminded (at best) comment, no team is allowed to play in a warzone, they would move the game. So you are talking nonsense.}
