So this Superleague is actually looking very likely. Which will mean the teams mentioned won't be playing in the PL anymore? Wtf. It can't and won't happen surely to god Ed001?

{Ed001's Note - it will at some point sadly, I just hope it won't be this time round and they can be brought back from the brink.}

{Ed001's Note - yes, from the brink of disaster ie breaking away.}

Argh I see. Ok mate. Anyway it happens and it’s played mid week and the teams can stay in the PL also? Sorry if been answered I haven’t had time to read all the posts.

{Ed002's Note - No. The clubs would be kicked out of the Premier League.}

Without the top 6 the premier league would basically be the championship. The sponsorship, tv money would drop well over 50%. The domestic leagues would be forced to cave and allow clubs to play mid week matches.

I hope a compromise can be reached so that the break away does not happen. But do I feel sorry for the other premier league clubs at the moment? Absolutely not!

Currently the premier league is a tyranny of the bottom half in the voting system. As long as they don't get relegated and keep their premier league money, the majority of teams in the league are content. They're just as greedy in their own way.

Remember when they outvoted us time and again over being able to use five subs in games this season to curb bigger teams' apparent advantage from the bench? We were the only major league in Europe this season to switch back to three subs per game and look at the injury crisis it helped to create for us, which we were saying could happen all along.

I've been saying for a while now that the entire English game needs a reality check and to be modernised. I hope this news bring the changes it really needs like the culling of the League Cup and the scrapping of FA Cup replays permanently.
