Just watching that City v Chelsea game yesterday, it's like football has regressed a generation again.
I like watching Man City, whoever they play (apart from Liverpool) doesn't affect their style. You can criticise Guardiola but his teams produce attractive football.

Tuchel has just gone to this same old 10 men behind the ball tactic. They've invested a lot of money in buying progressive and creative footballers and then that's the end result?
Give me a break.

I had the pleasure yesterday of watching an old Ajax v Bayern Munich European Cup QF from 1973, proper football.
Ajax were some side with Cruyff, they were at least 20 years ahead of their time.
Infinitely more attractive on the eye.

In fairness to Tuchel, if he went for an open game of football they’d have been absolutely pumped by Man City, he did the right thing and was pragmatic against them. Sometimes you have to play ugly to win.

Chelsea were all over city and didn’t have 10 men behind the ball, city couldn’t get hold of it. I do wonder what you were watching because it wasn’t the game yesterday.

By “all over City” do you mean boring cagey 0-0 all over City or got the goal, brought everyone behind the ball and ended up 45% to 55% possession down all over City?

Juicer, Chelsea did not just park the bus all game cos that is not true. Neither were they all over City cos that is not true either, IMO. I thought Chelsea were compact out of possession and played out of City’s press comfortably for that most part which helped them threaten City on the counter.

I thought City lacked energy, cohesion (they made 7 changes I think) and looked disjointed. Chelsea did not lack any of these things do you have to give them their dues. In the end, the better team won and that much was clear. Just my opinion.

More than one way to win a game. You'd swear there was a law saying everyone has to play this way or else. Chelsea fans or players won't care if they finish Top 4 and win both the FA cup and Champions league will they?
