Brilliant 3 points 3 goals and kabak to stay beyond his loan.

SJ I was very impressed with Kabak tonight. He is very good and comfortable on the ball. He looked so much more confident tonight. Phillips the same. Both looked like a proper partnership where they seemed to know what the other was doing. Fab was quality in midfield and I thought him and Thiago ran the game. I thought Milner got caught out a few times but then actually looked a lot better at left back. Jota outstanding when he came on. No way he doesn’t start from now on. It’s just a question of who drops out and whether Klopp drops one of them out or keeps Jota on the bench or changed tactics just to play the 4.

In fairness Martin Skertel would have look world class tonight Arsenal were that poor.

I think an interesting point is the fact that young Rhys Williams got the last 8-9 mins tonight. That could easily have been Davies. But he wasn’t even in the squad. I’m not writing him off but it doesn’t look good for him at this stage.

That’s why we need Jota on the pitch. He’s the most likely to score, most likely to break the stalemate. Then at one nil the games open and we can just rip them apart with Salah Trent etc.

Don't forget Jota as comeback from a long injury, its great to bring him on to change a game, when defenders are tired him rips them apart, great management, by the way Kabak was superb yet again.

{Ed014's Note - superb at what? He literally had absolutely nothing to do 🤷‍♂️

Apart from saving Phillips from a potential error near the end Kabak had pretty much zero defending to do. Why is he getting lauded for his performance?
I’m not being negative but I imagine the fans making positive hyperbolic statements now will be the ones calling him next time he has a bad game.

The passing out from the back was immense last night. Quick and accurate and even thought Alisson was replaced by David Seaman the pasing out from the goalkeeper was best i've seen all season. Kabak did look cool as a cucumber last night. A great game for him and Phillips to improve confidence ahead of sterner challenges to come. If you look at the rest of our games, those 2 look like they can steer us through the rest of the season. Not sure about the Champions League however.

“I’m not being negative” Cobra you are literally criticising fans who have given Kabak a little bit of credit last night for something you believe they will do in the future. Whilst you give him no credit at all.

They deserve some credit of course but too early to go overboard. We could have played CBS’s last night Jay with Baz in nets. Probably we would have won by 4.

Mark Wba, Southampton and Burnley etc forwards weren’t up to much for 89 mins of the games against us mind But they all still got a result. I don’t think it’s overboard saying they looked more on the same wave length and comfortable on the ball last night. Fabinho in the middle makes a massive difference mind. He breaks up so much and Thiago always comes in for criticism for his tackling but again last night he did very well in winning the ball back. I can’t remember if it was the first or 2nd goal (Salah goal I think it was) but Thiago won it back very well to gain us the possession in the first place. You can only play what is in front of you so if Kabak and Philips can’t take any plaudits then neither can the rest of the team really.

Whether anyone wants to admit it or not, Aubemeyang and Lacazette are top class forwards and Phillips and Kabak managed them very well they look like a centre back partnership, it also helped that they were very ably assisted by another brilliant performance in midfield by Fabinho. It’s amazing the results you can get when you play midfielders in midfield and defenders in defence.

{Ed077's Note - Aubameyang has been pretty bad this season.}

Anyone notice all the constant howling from Arteta and the Arsenal bench when we were tackling their players. More prominent given no crowd noise. didn't think Arsenal were a wingeing team but I do now. All I could hear when a tackle went in was them shouting for free kicks all game. Football is bad enough now with players going down with slightest contact or no contact at all. Lacazette was the worst. Diving round the floor and moaning when tackled. Arsenal are far from the Viera and Petite days, they will be way off for years to come if that's their mentality. I actually thought to myself shame Xhaka isn't playing as at least he's up for a few tackles.
