Morning Eds

I hope you are all safe and well on this fine fresh March morning. Any update on Hendos injury Ed2 had previously stated that he should be fit to return after the international break all going well. I really hope that this is the case it will allow Thiago to link up better with the front 3 and provide even more protection to the back 4 that Fabs has brought since his return to the team making us look a bit more solid at the back.

{Ed001's Note - I don't think he meant that Hendo would be back straight after the internationals, just he wouldn't be back until after them. He will probably need a week or so after we are back.}

Last report I saw wasn’t as encouraging. Hendo unlikely to play for at least another month. Fingers crossed though we really need him.

I'd say we are missing his actual presence in midfield more than we are missing his leadership on the pitch. After all his leadership was still on the pitch when he was at centre half and we had that extremely poor spell.

Oh totally agree Ed1.

I don't want to rush him back either and then end up losing him for the rest of the season.

But whenever he does come back I just hope that everyone else that is currently fit still are and we can finally put out our strongest 11 albeit missing all of our 3 1st team centre halves. It will be interesting to see how the team fares with the added drive and protection that Hendo alongside Fabs will give to the back 4 and maybe allow Thiago to show his real ability in his preferred position linking up with the front 3.

Or maybe Bobby will drop back into mid and Jurgen might go for a front 3 of Jota, Mane and Salah through the middle who knows but it's imperative that we get our captain back ASAP fully fit to pick us up and drive us on for whatever the remainder of the season will bring.

I agree that we definitely need Hendo back, but at the age of 30, now is the time to try and find a younger dynamic midfielder to eventually take his place, rather than wait until he can do it no more.

He is the only player we can realistically get back before the end of the season. He could make a difference in our CL crusade. No pressure Hendo.
