Just read on Sly Sports Merson is criticising Klopp (that in itself is ridiculous) and is recommending that Liverpool should play 3 at the back to offer the defenders more protection.
Does he not realise we’ve been players midfielders at the back because we have no defenders?! We struggle to put 2 centre backs on the pitch never mind 3!
I honestly can’t believe these pundits get paid for talking this utter drivel!

Am amazed Merson still works for sky. He’s the last person a would take advice from.

{Ed0666's Note - how wasn’t he the first to go in the skysports cull? They probably don’t realize he’s still working there. What a twat.

Seen my fair share of suggestions from Liverpool fans that we should play 3 at the back to protect our weak CBs and also just because they're craving a visible change.

Although, tbf, they're being paid by Sky to ostensibly provide high quality punditry and match analysis.

You would literally be better off going into a field and picking up a slug and asking it for an opinion on Liverpool’s defensive problems then listening to that man.

{Ed0666's Note - the slug would be more tactically aware.

Aah, Paul Merson. He that always predicts 'a Desmond' for a result and that always tells us that the players are already on the beach when they're midtable.
You'd be better off listening to Paul Merton.

{Ed0666's Note - I love you’re username rigsby reminds me off the sitcom ‘rising damp’ such a funny show back in the 1970’s. As for Paul Merson he looks so out of place and clueless on a football show if that isn’t irony I don’t know what is.

If he was a slug you could just take him with a pinch of salt :)

I asked Rigsby ages ago was he a very inappropriate landlord with a Miss Jones running after him😁.

Ed0666 I think he keeps his job for comedy reasons I know footballers get tainted as all being a bit thick but he just needs a partner and they would be like dumb and dumber.

{Ed0666's Note - if he had a partner I wouldn’t let them procreate.

I think the best option would be to stick with 2 at the back and ditch the high line. The high line works when we have pace in defence. We currently lack that pace. Also when we play the high line it means most of the game is in one half which is the oppositions, surely that plays to their advantage as its far easier to park 11 men behind a ball in 1 half of a field. If we play deeper it protects us from pace and also extends the game to the full pitch thus pulling the opposition out further and therefor creating more space against the parked buses.

My username is a tribute to the funniest sitcom character ever.
Even if Rupert Rigsby was a Leeds fan, if I remember rightly.

Jonesy’s pinch of salt cracked me up!

I honestly don’t get the three at the back argument - ridiculous when you can barely put out 2. Get back to full metal football and attack being the best form of defence I say.
