Although times are hard it's nice too know liverpool have more European cups than the whole of the premier league combined .

Also, watch the rocket Harvey Elliott scored last night and remember that the future is bright.

Was he good yeah mate nice, shaqiri replacement.

Has to be in my opinion. Elliott looks at least as ready now as Sterling did in the 2013/ 14 season when he played just off Suarez and Sturridge.

MK, to my mind he looks like he has a better final ball and more composure in the final third than Sterling at that age.

So lad's is it another year loan with Blackburn or 1st team integration?

He has valuable experience starting at 16 yrs of age playing in the prem and now a season in the championship, do we think he is better centrally or wide as he doesn't seem quick but has loads of room too grow an get stronger .

I'd rather see elliot coming on then origi or ox (when used out wide)

Another year on loan at a prem team would do him wonders I think, much better than the odd cameo he’s going to get at Liverpool next season. Remember he would be behind the usual front 3, taki and Jota, plus perhaps one or two others if they stay. I know it’s exciting to see what he will be able to do in our side but you’ve got to think what’s best for his development long term and that’s a loan and playing regular football.

Aye Mikey, I'd tend to agree. Whilst we can compare his rise like young Sterling breaking through and doing so well, we got to remember that Sterling played games for us. Would he get regular games? Probably not as the front 3 are established plus Jota would be ahead of him so the best thing for his development is regular game time, not he odd ten minute sub appearance here and there.

What team to allow him to go to next season would be the question but I'd be tempted to send him back to Blackburn if they're still interested. He's getting regular game time, is well thought of and his game seems to be properly developing.

1985mikey, i think he needed the loan to toughen him up physically as he is quite small. But he's adapted brilliantly and looks much stronger now.

I think we should take the approach Man City took with Phil Foden. He needs to be around players like Salah and Mane. Learn from the best so he can replace them when they go. That's just my opinion of course, but i think next season he'll already be good enough to be starting games in the first team. It's a long season. Who thought Jones would play 30 odd games this season?

Got to give him a chance at the highest level to know if he is ready or not.

1985mikey1986. I’m with you on that. Loan to a Premier League side where he is playing week in week out then back to us for the following season. I think the boy is really special so the future is bright.

The championship is a tough league IMO he will be ready next season.

He would be some player if he was as good as Sterling. I say keep him next year. As some say, he certainly won't be any worse than Shaq or Origi. Sell them both and use the money elsewhere.

Saka= 18, foden = 19, smithrowe = 19, greenwood = 19 . All given chance from bench now integrated in squad, we should replace shaq with elliot and I would rather have Layton stewart in the squad right now than origi mad as it sounds but he is the future an origi isn't.

15.) 25 Feb 2021
25 Feb 2021 20:19:31
If he is going to get regular minutes I would keep him within the squad but if its only likely to be cameos then another loan would be better. Need to get him as much competitive game time as possible. Nice to see a loan work out as well.

16.) 25 Feb 2021
25 Feb 2021 20:38:54
MK he’s only going to learn from the likes of Salah and Mane if he’s playing with them, and I don’t think he gets in the team next season, he would be 6th choice at best. Much better to go on loan and play every week, he will learn much more that way.

17.) 25 Feb 2021
25 Feb 2021 22:11:28
If he is going to play keep him but If he is not going to play let him go on loan to a Premiership side. My fear is him sitting on the bench most of next season when he could be playing week in week out at a Premier League side. If he was to go on loan next season I would love it to be at Leeds.

18.) 26 Feb 2021
25 Feb 2021 23:44:19
Yeah I agree with that Alonso, I’d like to see him have a year on loan at Leeds. If it’s successful then he’d be more that ready to step up and take a starting sport/ get regular minutes rotating.

He’s doing very well this year, just don’t want the club to rush his development (to being a regular player) as he’s so talented and would benefit from a team like Leeds where their isn’t high expectations of finishing top 4.

26 Feb 2021 11:53:11
I think if Elliott was kept around Shaquiri would be sold, Origi also HAS to leave this summer. don't want to hear about famous goals the bloke doesn't get into ANY team in the Premier league and as much as i like Taki i havn't seen anything from him at Liverpool or Southampton that would have me putting him ahead of Elliott! Even when he scored a nice goal against Chelsea last week he was very very poor. So for me i'd prioritise giving Harvey minutes ahead of any of them three.

Its one of those where we have to treat his career as it comes and his progress always changing so can't be claiming what is right or wrong move for him yet.

Over the year's i've seen Wilson, Brewster, grujic all enjoy good loans, then demanded to be ready for first team or a higher level loan otherwise, rare have we got what we thought was a good enough player.

But look at jones, trent as the ones who were heavily involved from 18yrs old within the first team and the benefit of not spending seasons at other clubs missing out on learning our way of play.

I hope elliot returns and stays with us for good. Even if he doesn't play every week for a year or 2 with us he can learn to hit the required levels to make it at the top. he's still so young and has 3 years before turning 20, so no need to rush. Look at the best young homegrown players to breakthrough recently in top level teams. Rashford, trent, saka, foden, gomez, rice, wan bissaka, sancho all made it without going on loan to step up.

So many players with high hopes can suffer from multiple loans disrupting and stopping settled focus development.
