Thanks Ed, that’s fair enough I think.
I wasn’t impressed with the Liverpool midfield but I was overly harsh on Jones the day after the night before.
The players’ ratings were collected from various media outlets and displayed on TIA.
Jones’ scores ranged from 4 - 7/ 10, so I suppose beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Cheers.

{Ed001's Note - very welcome mate. I think people just expect flash from him and remember those flashy moments rather than an overall performance.}

I don't see firmino working like he used to players are casually going past him 5 yards away and the whole reason he is in there just doesn't work anymore

Love bobby but we need someone to push him and rotate with him (if the issues are fatigue)
I just need to see hendo and fabinho play in midfield to see were the team is really at get them back for 3 games and we will know how the issues are.

Great review ED001! When I saw the team sheet I was disappointed not to see Phillips in the back. We need that structure that fabs brings in the middle and in the back he is an accident waiting to happen. He is fantastic in the midfield but this game exposed his lack of ability to play CB which is not his fault.

Hopefully this experiment is done and guys will start playing in the proper positions.

Now it's up to Davies, kabak and Phillips to do a job for the rest of the season.

{Ed001's Note - fingers crossed. I do feel sorry for Phillips, he has done enough to deserve a run at the back and yet he is quickly dumped.}

Ya it's strange one to me as well. It seems klopps impression of him won't change no matter what his performances are like on the pitch.

{Ed001's Note - it is sad because the lad has done everything asked of him on the pitch.}

Agree with all of that Ed. I couldn’t believe it when the pundits were drooling over Foden at the end he was virtually anonymous for 85 minutes of the game.
We created the best chances in a game of very few chances. Sadio had to score that header to gives us something to build on but he fluffed it.
The rest of the game was just 2 teams cancelling each other out with a couple of runs from Sterling in between but then Ali’s head exploded.
I’ve said he was at fault for all 4 goals. The first less so but it’s one of those where De Gea in his pomp would stick out a leg and the ball would go further away from goal. If you go with your hand there you have to hold onto it.
The other 3 goals were a joke for obvious reasons. The 4th that seems to be the catalyst for a Foden love in was just shocking. Stand up and it hits you in the face. By dropping to your knees anything high will beat you. Very poor goalkeeping from the worlds best. We all have bass days and this was his worst just at a time when we didn’t need it.

Brilliant as usual ed!
Jones is definitely the one good spark from that game.

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate,.}

What game were you watchin beckers? Foden was drifting past players with the ball like there was no one was there. Don’t think he game the ball away once. Ridiculous performance throughout the whole game which got even better as we tired.

{Ed001's Note - sorry it was a bit late this time though mate.}

Thanks for the Ed. The Phillips snub is baffling to me. I just don't get it.

Cheers Ed, can't argue with most of that. Feel you were a little harsh on Foden, thought he had a good game particularly when he moved out wide. Hopefully Ali puts the mistakes behind him and we get a bit more balance for the next game, if we can get a win with Hendo and Fab back in the middle, could be the boost we need to get back on track.

Nice, Ed. Definitely not a 4-1 game BUT if you read the post game coverage, you would think City battered us from pillar to post. Go figure. I fully agree with you that I understand why Klopp played Fab and Hendo in defence BUT I disagree with it. Don't know who should have started btw Kabak and Phillips but one of them should have started.

Like I said after the game, I thought it was an even game where we more than held our own under the circumstances. Maybe City win in the end (did not look like it cos they had created next to nothing after their goal) but at 1-1, the game is open and even and anything can happen at that point. I did not think we would win the game but I definitely did not think we would lose it the way we did.

As for Foden, I fully agree. I hardly noticed he was playing cos he rarely had the ball. Same with Bernardo Silva and Mahrez but you would think he ran the game with the way the media was fawning over him. Sterling had a way much better game than Foden did but you wouldn't have known it.

Beckers for the 4th goal, it is safe to say that AB’s head was already gone so won’t blame him too much for that cos frankly, it was anecdotic at that point.

As for the first goal, that move should have either never happened or should have been stopped right at the source. Neither happened cos Fab and TAA just let Sterling waltz past them like they were training cones instead of putting a bodying him up outside the box. I thought AB did his best on the punch out cos the shot was from very close range, IMO.

As for Foden, I forgot he was playing until the 5 times or so he had the ball all game long but it is typical of the British media to big up a one of their own.
