We're currently missing the best CB in the world
2 more of the top 10 cbs in the league
The best CDM in the league, maybe the world
One of the best midfielders in the league while he plays CB
One of the best LW in the world
Our only first team attacking option
And last night, the best GK as well, not to mention Keita

The reasons we have so many out are open to interpretations. But anyone who thinks we should be able to compensate for this situation, we should have been prepared or brought more etc isn't living in the real world. With new CBs playing, fabinho hendo mane and jota returning to their normal positions and a bit of luck to not loose anyone else we will finish the season in decent form and be top four. And all things considered, that will have been a decent result this year and have us able to prepare to challenge for the title again next year with a little squad refresh.

Yes, useful to remind ourselves of that, hjikle. I wonder if the reason we feel frustrated and disappointed at the moment is because, for quite some time, we seemed to take all of the injuries and set backs in our stride and kept winning and stayed top of the table. Maybe this gave us hope and expectation that we could carry on as normal without there being an impact.

At that point when we had van Dijk and Gomez ruled out for the season within a week of each other, and then had injuries to Thiago, Alisson, Trent, Fabinho and others at the same time, and we knew we'd be relying on Phillips, Williams and Kelleher in big matches, would we have taken top four and knock-out stages of the Champions League? Maybe we would.

Matip one of the top 10 CBs in the league? Really? Without even going into talent, how can someone who has very rarely managed 5 games in a row without getting injured for a month even be in the running for top performer?

AVAILABILITY is The most Important Ability or something.

And Keita hasn't managed to perform or stay fit so he isn't much of a miss. More a transfer gone wrong.

Hjickle you can’t really argue with any of that mate especially the injuries. We have had a terrible run and just as we seem to turn a corner with injuries we seem to lose more players.
What I would say though is looking at each of our line ups for the games against Wba, Newcastle, Southampton, Burnley and Brighton regardless of who was missing we should have had more than enough to give these teams a game and win. And when I say give them a game I mean actually threaten to score with attempts on goal rather than put in aimless crossers and keep possession. We’re talking about clubs battling relegation (not Saints) not teams challenging at the top.
Injuries have hampered us massively no denying that but the 11-14 players that still tune out for the club are paid a substantial amount of money to still perform and should be better than the opposition.

I task anyone to look at our line ups and give me the names of the players they would swap from the opposition we played from the ones i named. Apart from Williams for an opposing centre back I doubt we’ll find many more.

{Ed001's Note - or an actual centre-back so we could play Fabinho or Henderson in midfield? Football doesn't work like the way you are making out it does. If it did there would be no point in having a league in the first place, because we could just compare the teams on paper and decide who wins.}

Ed001 I appreciate that mate. What I meant was even though we’ve lost some massive players the players that have played should still be good enough to beat or score past the bottom 6. After all they have been good enough to beat Spurs and West Ham.

{Ed001's Note - that means nothing. Again you are just saying the same thing with different words. That is not how it works.}

So how does it work ED. I would have thought that a team with better players, and a better manager, should beat a team with lesser players and manager. Unless the tactics and selection are wrong.

{Ed001's Note - or one side has players that have been run into the ground due to injuries and illness ruling out rotation options, while the other has been able to rotate in fresh legs. It is not always about right or wrong. Why is no one actually looking at the whole picture instead of a tiny piece so they can whine?}

I am not whining, just making an observation. Tou talk about a team that hasn't had the opportunity to rotate. Klopp plays the same 11 for most games, and when the opportunity arises to make substitutions, to give players a breather, he waits until the last 10 minutes.

{Ed001's Note - you are whining, you are not attempting to look at the whole picture because then you would understand. He played the same 11 when he could, yes. The subs thing has been dealt with, numerous times. Klopp is holding off on subs because of the amount of injuries we have had and he wants to make sure that he doesn't get caught out. You are not making any constructive criticism, so what do you think you are doing if it is not whining? I suppose it is better than making sly digs at the dead in an RIP thread to them at least.}

Haven’t we lost and drawn games with hendo and Fabinho in midfield also? It seems to be to the same type of opposition that we drop points to regardless of hendo and fab playing in midfield. I can’t wait till one if not both gets a regular run in midfield for 5-6 games and we show just as inconsistent results and performances than we have done at the moment. I wonder what people will say then. City also have had key players out btw but have adapted and been the best of a bad bunch since they started the season poorly, but we go on massive runs of bad results and performances. I think the glass half full will say injuries are what’s costing us and not think there’s any other underlying problems and I think the glass half empty will think this is deeper than injuries seeing as we showed similar form end of last season right before C.V. and just after, with no notable injuries. Call it whining all you want, it doesn’t make your opinion more relevant and ours less relevant just because we don’t agree with you.
