Ed1, any idea why Klopp doesn’t play Phillips. Granted he’s not the quickest, but he’s more of a defender than Williams and Henderson. At this point in time I don’t see the benefit of playing Williams, we shouldn’t play him because he is a ‘prospect. ’ Henderson links up very well down the right side and I think you see the best of Trent when Henderson is in the middle.

{Ed001's Note - I can only think it is because he lacks quality on the ball, as he is certainly not as slow as Williams.}

Nearly play Philips just to mark slab head at set pieces. Philips was made to look poor v Newcastle when isolated 1v1 with Wilson though. Feck it im going to relax and let Klopp earn his money, im not getting oaid for all this worry and stress.

I would be playing Williams or Phillips at the back, hendo needs to be in the middle against United.
I have a funny feeling Klopp might try something completely new though, a new formation or something just to mix things up and mess with Uniteds game plan.

I think gini would be a better bet. He adds pace and strength back there and frees hendo up to five more energy to the midfield.

Play Nico RB and Trent alongside Fab.

Nice thought Acered but if Trent was to go anywhere it would be right mid/ wing. Not sure he’s cut out for centre half at all, and not that commanding in the air. Need someone at corners to challenge Maguire for sure.

We will play exactly the way we always play as that is what gives us the best chance to win. Changing formation or parking the bus suits United. We just need a touch of class on the finishes and to win the midfield battle. Allison will keep us in it. Doesn't matter who starts as long as they give it their all, but I'd choose Phillips for the extra physicality.

Fabinho is an absolute exception because he has been so exceptional at CB. But I don't like playing Hendo at CB too cos I just reckon it double weakens the team further by taking Hendo out of the midfield and then out of position. I'd much rather trust Nat Phillips or Rhys and have the team accommodate their deficiencies.

Spot on, Amerigo. We need to play to our strengths cos that is what Utd will do. We know what works and where our issues lie and it is our inability to create chances and take them. I know CB is a worry but done the Villa result and VVD and Gomez injuries, we have one of the best defences in the PL so clearly Klopp has done a great job there.

They said Leicester, Spurs, Wolves, etc would do us at Anfield and what happened? They all got smashed and sent home crying. How? We played to our strengths. Same thing happened in the CL. Ajax and Atalanta werd going to do us? What happened? They got sent packing, again. So clearly, we are doing something right all season. Let’s get this going again by believing in the team, the process and the manager cos his way HAS worked with the big trophies to prove it. The only thing left to fear is fear itself. Let’s go!
